Photos of Tayem Hassan and Mena Fadaly

Many of you will be watching the final episodes of ‘El Malek Farouk’ on MBC and enjoying the exquisite acting that is part of this new show. One of the stars Mena Fadaly who plays Queen Farida in ‘El Malek Farouk’ says that this is one of the most important parts for her career and that although it was a difficult one she is glad she took it. She also says that in one of the scenes where Syrian actor Tayem Hassan, who plays King Farouk, is supposed to ask her to give birth to a boy and punch her in the stomach, she was injured.

Mona Zaki and Ahmed Helmi

If you are one of those people who spend along time in front of the television especially in Ramadan then you will have realized the abnormal amount of Egyptian celebrities taking part in commercials. The commercial business used to be mostly taken advantage of by singers and football players but obviously actors and actresses saw how profitable it could be and wanted a cut! If there is anything more jaw dropping than the sheer abundance of those commercials it is how much they get paid for them. Abla Kamel for example stars in a washing powder advertising and is paid half a million Egyptian Pounds for that one commercial and she will be paid more if they company asks her to do another one.

During the new interview between presenter Hala Sarhan and Adel Imam, a startling announcement was made. Adel Imam who is known for his ‘brave’ movies announced that in his next movie he would be playing a priest! Adel went on to explain that one of the biggest problems that threaten security in Egypt is the lack of unity between Egyptian Muslims and Christians. As a result Adel Imam’s upcoming movie will tell the story of the events of November 2005 where there was conflict between religious groups in Egypt.

‘Photo of Haifa Wehbe in Australia

As a kind of moral support to Hala Sarhan after the problems she had and is having in Egypt, Adel Emam decided to appear on her new show. Adel Emam hardly makes TV appearances but when he does it is something to behold and Rotana usually has the pleasure of hosting him. The show was fantastic and Adel received calls from several people including Mona Zaki and Yusra but the big surprise was Haifa Wehbe.

Hanan Turk in Ahlam Hakeekeya

We have all obviously heard of Hanan Turk’s decision to wear the hijab quite a while ago ,however, some of you will recall a movie she was doing before this decision. This very movie which goes by the title of ‘Ahlam Hakeekeya’ (Real Dreams) will be airing in 45 different cinemas during Eid. The movie also stars Khaled Saleh and Dalya El Beheiry and allegedly contains a lot of action and mystery.

Hussein Sharbini

It is sad when an artist with such an amazing acting history and amazing works passes away. Egyptian legend Hussein Sharbini passed away around a week ago at the age of 72 and after a courageous fight with illness. Hussein Sharbini is one of those few actors who’s works were watched and witnessed by several generations. His fruitful career include some the most beautiful films and series including: ‘El Avokato’, ‘El Raghba’ and ‘Al Ragol Al Akhar’ to name a mere few.
The Egyptian community is obviously very saddened by the loss of this man who made such an impressionable mark on Egyptian drama.

Yasmin Abdel Aziz

Its interesting to see how some celebrities that seem so humble and sweet can turn out to be stuck up and downright rude in real life! One of these stars who I myself am completely disappointed in is Egyptian actress Yasmin Abdel Aziz. Apparently when Yasmin boarded a flight headed down to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in order to complete omra to celebrate Ramadan she said some very rude statements directly to the pilot.

Its way too often that you Google a celebrities name and you find 101 fan sites where devoted youngsters with a lot of time on their hands post religiously the latest news, pictures and quotes from their favourite celebrity. What isn’t very popular is hate sites for these celebrities. Tamer Hosni who has been described as the ‘star of the generation’ is the first celebrity to have a site devoted to ridiculing and posting all that is wrong with him.

Lucy

Those of you who have seen the repeating ads for Ramadan series on MBC will have seen the trailer for ‘Sultan El Gharam’ which includes dancer and singer Lucy. Lucy plays the character of Badreya, the wife of a pauper who works hard to provide for his family but fails to do so and as a result, Lucy finds herself selling vegetables on the street to help him out. However, after she does her best to help him he manages to acquire some money and so he leaves her and marries another woman which devastates Lucy’s character.

Alzeem Adel Imam’s Daughter Wedding

If you have never seen the wedding photos of Adel Imam's daughter, now you can see some photos from her wedding… The engagement ceremony took place in the Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and many celebrities attended the wedding like Safia Al Omari, Mahmoud Yassine, Ilham Shaheen, Salah al Saadany, Nicole Saba, and Adel Imam’s long life friend Said Salah.

Egyptian actress Randa El Beheyry

Young Egyptian actress Randa El Behry has quite frankly claimed that she is terrified of the new role which she plays in the movie ‘Khaleyk Fe Halak’. The reason of her fear is the fact that her part is a comic one and she acknowledges that comedy is the hardest form of acting and that it has never been her favourite. Randa says that she memorised the script very well and is now following the precise instructions of the director Ayman Makram to ensure that she can pull this part off.

Egyptian stars Mona Zaki and Ahmed El Saka make such a great duo, that before Mona got married I hoped they would get together, their chemistry has been the main factor for success in many movies and now they will be using it on radio. This Ramadan, an Egyptian Radio channel will be releasing a new series titled ‘Shoof Lek Hal’ where they will take problems that the youth of today face and come up with simple yet effective solutions for them.

Ghada Adel

Well not in real life but Ghada does play a TV presenter who presents a program called ‘Sirri Gedan’ (Top Secret) and gets a death threat after a controversial episode. That’s not the only project Ghada is part of, she is part of ‘Masraweya’ a new series that is to air on several Arab channels in Ramadan and is expected to be a great hit.

Ahmed El Saqqa

Many of you will recall Egyptian star Ahmed El Saqqa’s eye injury which he suffered whilst filming an intense action scene in his upcoming movie ‘Al Jazeera’ (The Island). Doctors have allowed Ahmed to get back to filming his movie after a large and costly delay and after his eye improved sufficiently. The cast and crew of ‘Al Jazeera’ are currently at Kimo Land, where they are filming a few scenes after which they will return to Luxor to finish the movie.
