Former WAMA member Ahmed Fahmi is the epitome of a break out star, after deciding to work alone he did a tremendous job in the movie ‘Kaleeg Naema’ (Naema Bay). His new album did exceptionally well and he is now preparing to film the music video for another of his songs ‘Fee Kedah’ which he claims he chose due to its vibrant and fast tempo and that it is one of his fans favorite songs.

The entire acting community was saddened to hear of the death of a legendary woman that made her mark: Zizi Mostafa. Zizi, who passed away at 65, began her acting career at 16 has been part of some of the most beautiful works of drama ever. Her most prominent role was in the movie ‘El Bostagy’ with Shokry Sarhan in 1968.

Well it appears that Egyptian superstar Adel Imam really found himself in the world of cinema and so the last time he was actually in a series was in 1982! However, this might be changing very soon as the Egyptian Media City has approached him for a role in an exciting new series which everyone is talking about. This series will be documenting the story of scientist and Nobel Prize Winner Professor Ahmed Zewail.
Ahmed El Fishawy has never really been one to ‘stay low’ and he seems to go through these phases in his life which are obviously very public. He went through the ‘religious phase’ a while ago with a program that encouraged discussion about Islam and religion between the youth. During the airing of this show a lot of people gained a lot of respect for the young man until his very public affair, which lead to the birth of his daughter. And now the next phase for Ahmed is well: rapping! He plans to release a new album that contains several rap songs which he created along with his friends.

Why is it that the moment Hanan Turk decided to wear the scarf and leave the cinematic world rumors about her flew right, left and center? The first of these hideous rumors was that she opened a Salon and Coffee Shop that is for Muslim women who wear the scarf ONLY! I for one did not believe this- a woman that is capable of producing beautiful art would never do that and a woman who knows the teaching of Islam would know that this is in fact forbidden. The second rumor was that she in fact was getting back with her divorcee Khalid Khatab.
So, Hanan Turk decides to wear the hijab ... that's her personal choice ... she's free to do what-ever she wants, right?
Well, she's taking her hijab a bit too far!
A couple of weeks ago, she decided to break-up the partnership between her and the wife of Ahmad Al-Saqqa ... the two had opened up a beauty salon exclusively for women wearing the hijab ... but it seems now that Al-Saqqa's wife decided to take off the hijab, she's no longer a good partner, in Hanan's eyes of course! So, she broke the partnership up!
Now, she's gone as far as making enemies of non-covered Muslim women and even Egyptian Christians!
Why? ... Well, Hanan opened up a coffee shop in Cairo that serves only women wearing the hijab!
According to Rosalyoussef Magazine, non-covered Muslim women and Christians aren't allowed in!!!
Shouldn't there be a law against religious discrimination?!
What do you think of this? Hanan will cause a lot more trouble than she's ever dreamed of!
I think she's gone too far with her religious views!
Young Egyptian actress Daliah Buhairi is well known for her adventurous nature and her bold choice of characters.
Daliah has never minded wearing a swimsuit in her movies, her argument is: "I wear swimsuits in my daily life and Egyptian actresses have worn swimsuits in the old black n' white movies, not only on the beach, but in the in house scenes! No one attacked them for it!" Well, she has a point!
In all cases, Daliah's latest movie "Juba", where she acts alongside young actor Mustapha Shaaban, contains a scene where she lies on her back in bed, wearing a transparent top and nothing else! But, Daliah refused to do that scene! She has asked the director to look for a body double to do that scene ... She might agree to a swimsuit shot, but never a nude scene!
It's been 10 days since the passing away of Egyptian actor Younes Shalabi ... Although we didn't right about his death as it happened, but we couldn't let this pass by without mentioning ...
Younes Shalabi died last week, at the age of 66, after a long struggle with illness. He suffered from diabetes and a stroke and had been resting in hospital for a long time.
You would think that a famous and iconic actor like Shalabi, would be better taken care of at his age and his health condition ... especially by the Actors Union ... but sadly enough, Shalabi had to sell the bit of property he owned in his home town of Al Mansoura, to be able to pay for his medical bills! It was only in the last stages of his illness, that the Egyptian Ministry of Health took over the bills, according to reports by CNN Arabia.
These are some photos of the famous Egyptian actresses Najla Fathi during the wedding of her sister's son in Egypt last summer. Her Husband, the famous TV Host and writer Hamdi Kandeel was also with her at the wedding...

‘Hamasana’ is an internet group that aims to battle seductive actresses and around a year ago they made a blacklist. This blacklist consisted of names of several actresses and singers who are known for their inappropriate appearances and asked their followers to boycott these artists.
Wafaa Amer was one of these artists but she was fortunate enough to have her name removed from the list.
If you are one of Egyptian actress Mena Fadaly fans or you simply like her acting during this Ramadan on different TV Series especially her role on King Farouk TV series 'Queen Farida', you will definitely enjoy these photos:

Many of you will be watching the final episodes of ‘El Malek Farouk’ on MBC and enjoying the exquisite acting that is part of this new show. One of the stars Mena Fadaly who plays Queen Farida in ‘El Malek Farouk’ says that this is one of the most important parts for her career and that although it was a difficult one she is glad she took it. She also says that in one of the scenes where Syrian actor Tayem Hassan, who plays King Farouk, is supposed to ask her to give birth to a boy and punch her in the stomach, she was injured.

If you are one of those people who spend along time in front of the television especially in Ramadan then you will have realized the abnormal amount of Egyptian celebrities taking part in commercials. The commercial business used to be mostly taken advantage of by singers and football players but obviously actors and actresses saw how profitable it could be and wanted a cut! If there is anything more jaw dropping than the sheer abundance of those commercials it is how much they get paid for them. Abla Kamel for example stars in a washing powder advertising and is paid half a million Egyptian Pounds for that one commercial and she will be paid more if they company asks her to do another one.
During the new interview between presenter Hala Sarhan and Adel Imam, a startling announcement was made. Adel Imam who is known for his ‘brave’ movies announced that in his next movie he would be playing a priest! Adel went on to explain that one of the biggest problems that threaten security in Egypt is the lack of unity between Egyptian Muslims and Christians. As a result Adel Imam’s upcoming movie will tell the story of the events of November 2005 where there was conflict between religious groups in Egypt.
