• Famous Egyptian actress Laila Alawi was chosen by the Dubai Film Festival from 10 other top Arabic actors and actresses to sit on the judging panel at the prestigious event.

- Egyptian Actor Hussein Fahmi apologized for his recent comments about women who wore the hijab as "disabled" saying that what he really meant was the hijab disables the actress from doing sports and other athletic activities.
Loool, I think he should have just shut up.
- There's a new TV channel in town! It's called City 7, transmits in English and based in Dubai. The new channel will have all sorts of programs and hopes to be one of the best out there! Its target is the 3 million English speaking residents in Dubai in addition to others in the Arab Gulf states.
- After a long wait, and even though some of his counterparts already beat him to it, Star Academy 3 winner Josef Attiya, will finally be releasing the video clip of his winning song "Lat Roohi" or "Don't Go."

• The famous Lebanese singer Miriam Faris is back from her visit to Amman, Jordan where she sang some of her most popular songs at the 4-Seasons Hotel. She probably left early since President Bush is holding his meetings there today.
• The famous presenter Hala Sarhan was able to draw a hot confession from Tunisian actress Hind Sabri regarding her love life. Hind said she was living a beautiful romance and that she might get married very soon. Keep an eye out for this episode.
• Lebanese director Nadine Labki, famous for directing a video clip for Nancy Ajram, is participating in the Cairo Film Festival, not as a director but as an actress for her role in the Lebanese movie "Bosta" which will be the 3rd Lebanese movie to be screened at the festival.
• Many stars are expected to attend the Cairo Film Festival today from the Arab World and all over the globe. The festival is expected to draw widespread media coverage since the organizers have been preparing for the event for over 3 months.
• The Syrian singer Noura Rahal is preparing to release her new album "Dunyati Ahla" composed of 10 new songs, the main one is "Adi" which will be released this coming December.
• The director of the new movie set to be released soon staring the famous Lebanese singer Maya Nasri has changed it's title from "Black and White" to code 36. The movie will star Maya as an Aerobics instructor, she'll also be singing a couple of songs too.
• Hussein AbdulGhani, the chief correspondent of Al-Jazeera office in Egypt, has been detained as he tried to leave Egypt heading to Qatar on some business.
According to the Egyption government, AbdulGhani was detained becasue of Al-Jazeera's coverage of the Dahab explosions last April! They accuse Al-Jazeera of spreading false news & trying to make the Egyption government look bad infront of the world.
• The Arab Center for Youth elected Hussein Al Jasmi as the Ambassador of Arab Youth due to his constant support to them. He was handed his official duties in a huge ceremony on Thursday at the Ajyad Country Club.

• Ahmed Al Fishawi, son of Farook Al Fishawi married his bride Wisam in an American-Style wedding at his father's garden.
• Shwaikar as been regularly seeing a doctor as she complains of pains in her foot after being ill for a while. At the same time, she was the guest of honor at the remake of the play "My Fair Lady" which she performed in during the 60's with her late husband Foa'd Al Muhandis.
• Wael Kfoury is in Toronto and will be touring Canada starting with Windsor today 23rd, then Toronto on the 24th, then Montreal on the 24th and finally Ottawa on 25th. After that he'll head back to Beirut only to prepare for even more concerts in Tunis on the 1st and 2nd of December.
• It seems that Nour Al Sharif is back with Bousy as they had been seen having Iftar together during Ramadan 7 times accompanied by their two daughters Mae and Sara. Bousy said that despite the divorce, they still maintain a good family relationship.
• Adel Imam won the award for best actor during the Sao Paulo International Film Festival in Brazil for his role in the movie "Imaret Yakbyan". That movie is considered to be the biggest movie in Egyptian cinema history costing $2.8M and making over $3.3M

• Lebanese singer Serine Abdel Nour is preparing to shoot her new video clip for her song "Alaik Iyooni" or "My Eyes Are on You" which is also the title of her latest album. At the same time, she's getting her new album in shape as she's got about 4-5 songs in the bag already.
• Fans of Tash Ma Tash, the Saudi TV Series which has been a part of Ramadan for 14 years now are upset because several scenes were deleted and it seems that full episodes weren’t even broadcasted because of censorship!
• The first video clip of star academy 1 candidate Mira is released in Beirut, Mira first song is called ‘Wala Moumken’.
• Egyptian actress Hala Shiha decided to retire from acting forever and she is currently attending religious lessons.

• Egyptian actress Eman Ayoub attempted suicide recently during the shooting of the new TV series ‘Nassr Alsamaa’! The reason why Eman tried to kill herself is that the series won’t be aired on TV during the month of Ramadan!!
• The first Album of Lebanese singer Melissa has been released, the album is called ‘Bedi Menak’. I didn’t type the name wrong, Melissa & not Elissa … she has the title of Miss Middle East 2004 and she is now a singer … Typical!
• Egyptian actress Layla Alawi visited Lebanon recently to give tribute to the innocent people who were killed in the second massacre of Qana.

• Egyptian actress Hanan Turk is angry over the recent rumors that were circulating claiming that she intends to remove her Hijab; Hanan strongly denied the rumors and described them as lies.
