Coca Cola to Roll out Self Chilling Drink!

Coca Cola’s Sprite Super Chilled Bottle

I’m not particularly fond of soft drinks; I only drink some if it’s really hot or if a friend treats me to one. It would be ungracious of me to refuse it right? To soft drinks drinkers, the usual problem for them is that their drink warms up real fast that it becomes unpalatable, even more so when ice is added to keep it cold. But it seems Coca Cola has come up with the perfect solution to this predicament. I’m not sure how they did it but they have developed a bottle that keeps the contents cold even after the cap has been twisted off. There is a device in the bottle that solidifies or makes into ice some of the drink. I think that is ingenious in itself and quite interesting!

The monkey and the pigeon Friendship

If you think about it, a lot of the disputes and troubles happening all around us are the result of differences, in culture, views and many other factors. But if animals can do it maybe humans can do it too. Just take a lesson from this little monkey and a pigeon. These two make an adorable image as you can see. Iran unveiled the hand-woven carpet that measures 5,625 square meters (60,546 square feet), which is about, or more than the size of a soccer field! Wow, this really took some hard work involving 1,200 weavers in three villages in the northeast. Want to know the duration? Well, it took one year and a half to finish the pieces. Said carpet will be delivered to UAE where a new mosque is being constructed.

Did you know that Indian Ink doesn't come from India? It comes from China & Egypt!
A pencil doesn't contain lead! It has Graphite!
The silk worm, although called a worm, is the larva or caterpillar of the silk moth.
The Panda isn't a bear! It's from the Raccon family!
A banana tree, is in fact a herb!
Cucumbers & Tomatoes are not vegetables ... they are fruits!
A Turkish bath isn't really Turkish, it's Roman!

Rare Colored Lobster Found in Rhode Island

Multi-colored Lobster

I did not know that lobsters come in any other color aside from orange. But when I saw this particular news well I saw there are also lobsters in brown color. Usually this crustacean only bears one color throughout its body so it is really amazing that the one found off the coast of Newport, Rhode Island is a combination of orange and brown color. Its color is also a perfect symmetry because the division of the colors is really equal, the left in brown and the right side in eye-catching orange.

500 Years of Historical Treasure in a Laundry Room

A laundry room… I’d never think that this is a place where one can find a timeless treasure but that is exactly what was found in the filing cabinet in a Swiss laundry room. The treasure is in the form of a collection of historical letters – a collection that range for over 500 years, painstakingly collected by inveterate collector Albin Schram. The letters also cover various areas like art, science, philosophy and literature. But perhaps the most interesting among the collection is the letter made by Napoleon for the love of his life Josephine. As you probably can guess, it’s no ordinary letter; it’s a love letter! A woman’s heart can really go a-flutter when it comes to love letters right? Especially if it contains line like, “I send you three kisses – one on your heart, one on your mouth and one on your eyes”.

Car Gets Stuck in Subway Steps

Woman Takes a Wrong Turn

Getting confused over traffic and road signs is not a sin right? For as long as nobody gets hurt in the process. Just like this 52-year old woman in Germany who mistook an underground station entrance for an underground park. She blamed the incident on the fact that the signs for underground public car parks are similar to the blue sign indicating underground stations. So this woman wanted to park near the supermarket, but unfortunately for her instead of a parking area she drove her VW Beetle straight through the station 9.22 commuter express that takes passengers to Germany’s downtown Dusseldorf. Luck was with her that day because she did not acquire any injuries, but her car was left stuck on the subway steps.

Burj Towers: World’s Second Tallest Building

Burj Tower

I have a friend who is working right now in Dubai. Last time I browsed her pictures in one of the networking sites I saw this photo of her and right behind her was a tower. If my memory serves me right I think she mentioned in her caption Burj Tower. This Tower is certainly another added attraction in Dubai, inviting tourists to flock over the country. It is definitely a great sight to see since Burj Tower is now the second tallest building in the world, coming close to Taiwan’s Taipei 101 tower. Burj Tower is another great icon to behold in the land of Dubai as it stands 468.1 meters, 130-storey building. This new infrastructure exceeds Malaysia’s Petronas Towers and Sears Tower of Chicago.

The Bengal Tiger That Loves To Swim

The Bengal Tiger

I’ve always loved the cuddliness of cats and dogs; in fact I have two dogs at home. Animal lovers like myself will surely find this Bengal Tiger at the Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Zoo in Vallejo just within the vicinity of San Francisco in California cute. This Bengal Tiger has a name of Odin and he has a rare coloring – white, a very unusual color for tigers in the wild as well as in the zoo. Odin is now six years old and even though he is large, measuring 10ft long from nose to tail, he just looks all cuddly and adorable. But Odin has a very unusual trait because unlike any other tiger that you’ll find in a Zoo because he just loves to go getting his furry body wet.

Pay to Stay in the Hilton of Prisons!

5 stars Prisons

I for one haven’t served any jail time but as you can imagine for most it’s an unpleasant time where you are exposed to several aspects that can literally scar you for life but here’s the good news for a sum of money –usually ranging between $75 and $127- you can get 5 star services in your cell. This strange amazing service can be found in several areas of California and is on offer for people with ‘minor charges’ who still have a stash of cash hidden somewhere. Nicole Brockett who has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol has been placed in one of these jails and pays $85 a day for accommodation in what she describes as a ‘five-star Hilton’ (its important to keep in mind she is referring to a jail)!

Roy was stricken by lightening for the first time in 1942, he lost his finger! Then again in 1969 another lightening bolt hit him & resulted in burning his eyebrows! Keep counting ...
In 1970, he was hit in the shoulder by one & two years later another one hit him straight in the head! Ok, so that adds up to 4!

Scottish Man Gets Most Advanced Bionic Hand

Scottish Man Advanced Bionic Hand

As we get closer and closer to the Terminator era, science is closing the gap on what is science-fiction and reality. We know that Jesse Sullivan who made headlines as the man with the artificial arm had an electric arm fitted to help him with everyday life.
But the hand he had had was very basic just like a claw and couldn't move like a regular hand could. Today, an advanced version of a bionic hand, with five individually powered fingers, has been fitted to a man in Scotland.

What is a Mandala?

mandala

Have you ever looked closely at a snowflake or a bicycle wheel?
Have you ever noticed how symmetrical they are?
Well, the way they are designed is somewhat like a kaleidoscopic shape, and that is called Mandala.
The word Mandala comes from Sanskrit, meaning center or circle. All Mandalas have a center and some form of symmetry & balance.
Examples of symmetrical Mandalas are all over nature, & they are not only beautiful works of art, they illustrate some basic mathematical principles.
Every cell in our body is a living Mandala. So is the iris of our eye, a snowflake, a bicycle wheel, and the planet earth.
Cool!

Since the 70’s people have been talking to their plants and playing music for their comfort! They figure that plants grow better if made recipients of verbal nourishment and a bit extra CO2. There was an even bigger belief that plants are gentle, peace-loving, tolerant organisms.
But … Scientists have discovered the truth; some plants are stone-cold killers!
One of these plants is the Spotted Knapweed; it has a secret weapon, its roots produce a chemical that kills others plants, and this chemical called “catechin” triggers the production of free radicals, which pass from the roots upward, activating a wave of cell death. Which means it causes others plants to commit suicide!

The handover for the infamous Virgin Mary grilled cheese sandwich is to take place at 1 p.m., Wednesday, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood. The sandwich is then to be displayed at the Hard Rock for a little more than a day, protected under lock and key and with police guards.

The Casino paid $28,000 for the Holy toast!
