Zizi Prepares Next Album!

Star Academy star Zizi’s last Album ‘Wahda Tayeba’ was amazingly successful in the Arab world even though she was quite new to the world of music. Her unexpected success drove Zizi to prepare for her next album at an early time to ensure that she has sufficient time to pick the songs she feels are right for her. About her last album Zizi said that she had no expectations for the album especially that there are several new singers that invade the scene everyday.

Ahmad Hussein Hospitalized for Eye Infection

Kuwaiti Star Academy 2 graduate Ahmad Hussein had an interview recently with Khalijiya Magazine where he talked about his wish to have a duet with Egyptian singer Shereen and Lebanese singer Yara, and when he was asked about the guests that visited the academy, Ahmad said that he liked Tunisian singer Saber Al Rebai a lot and that he really respect him... and when he was asked about the candidates of different starac seasons, he said that the winner of starac 2 Saudi Hisham Abdul Rahman is not good at singing at all, he is better in presenting TV shows...

Zizi Adels Radio Interview

Last night Zizi Adel was the guest on the popular radio show ‘Nagm ala el hawa’! Zizi has seen some very amazing successes recently but it seemed she got slightly upset when a viewer sent an SMS telling her he didn’t like her look in her latest video clip, she didn’t respond properly if you ask me but her fans all over the world went mad. SMS’s flooded in telling Zizi she was gorgeous and that she was mind blowing in her video clip which she welcomed with open arms. Zizi was asked all kinds of question including weather or not she would marry a non- Egyptian and weather she would choose her career over a family and husband.

Amani Swissi’s Video Clip Debut

Rotana News just announced that the extremely talented Amani Swissi will shoot her video clip for her single "Elli Shayef Nafso". Being a Rotana artist, her video will be aired exclusively on Rotana TV. The video clip will be directed by Fadi Haddad (who recently directed "Domak La Albi" for Zain El Omr) and will be shot on Saturday and Sunday. The presenter also said that Amani's debut album is due "in a few days", and like her fellow Star Academy students who just released their debuts, Ahmad Hussain and Zee Zee Adel, the video and album will come within days of each other.

• Amal Al Anbari was a guest during the album promotion of singers Ghassan and Salem El Mawla. She revealed that she is now living with some of her relatives in Lebanon and that she is so happy because of the support of her fans. She added that she is preparing for something but wont declare what exactly until her birthday. Jaras TV will be the first to know.

• Tunisian Star Academy 2 candidate Amani Swissi known for her golden voice and chosen by Ousama al Rahbani to star in the play Jebran and the Prophet, launched her first single on April 11th in Lebanon. She chose that specific day because simply it is her birthday. So we wish her all the success in her life and her career.

Zizi, New Video Clip & Summer Concerts!

It seems Star Academy graduate Zizi Adel's career is sky rocketing!
Her debut album is a success & her first video clip was a hit & she's now working on her second clip with director Tareq Rifat, who worked with her on the 1st one.
Zizi thinks that it's not a must to win the title in order to be a successful star. The examples are a lot, Ahmad Al Sharif & Bashar Al Shatti just to name a couple, have fans all over the world & are doing great.

Star Academy Students' Latest Plans - Part 1

The students of the past 3 seasons of LBC Star Academy are working hard to launch their careers ... Some of them are on the right track, while unfortunately others are not really finding their way!
As you might already know, Star System & Rotana are working with the students to help them with launching their albums & marketing them in the Arab world.

Tunisian Amani Swissi is putting the final touches on her first album which is being produced by Rotana. Her album is due in May 2007.

LBC Star Academy Students Reunite for Star System

On the occasion of Star System's 3rd anniversary, the company held a huge party in Beirut.
The guest list was also a long list of famous names of journalists ... In addition to the popular Star Academy stars of the past 3 seasons. They all reunited for the occasion & the atmosphere was so warm & fun through-out the night.
The presence of Salma Ghazali & Bashar Ghazawi was the one that stole the spotlights.
The other starac stars attending the party were Joseph Attieh, Hani Hussein, Hana Idrissi, Maya Nehmeh, Samer Doumet, Ahmad Al Sharif, Fadi Andraous, Amani Souissi, Shaima Hilali & Wajdi Al Akhal.

I wonder where others like Zizi & Hisham & Bashar Al Shatti were?
I also wonder where Mohammad Attieh's been hiding all this time?

Remember Zizi Adel? She's on TV Again!

Zizi Adel was one of the students of the popular TV show LBC Star Academy ... She wasn't the best, but she did have a good voice & potential to make in the music business.
It seems she hit it well with Rotana, because she's got a debut album out & a video clip as well!
I watched the clip today & found it to be nice! ... The words to the song are not bad, the music is good & the video clip itself is fine! At least there's not nudity!
Zizi has been hiding all this time & has surfaced again to show us that she does have potential to make it the music business there days ... Unlike the guy who picked up the title of Star Mohammad Attieh! ...

• The first single for Star Academy 3 winner Joseph Attia "la trouhi" (don't go) is recently broadcasted on Sawt el ghad exclusively. The song is romantic and is really great, Joseph's voice is so strong... I loved the song and I hope that he will continue succeeding in his career. Go on Joseph, you rock.

• Also, LBC TV broadcasted the first video clip of Star Academy 3 contestant Hani Hussein from Egypt. A duet of Hani with Chris de Burg. Nice choice Hani.

• Do you remember what was LBC Star Academy 2 contestant Bashar Kaissi from Iraq used to sing for Katia in the academy? Do you remember when he came back to the academy on the stage while holding his guitar and singing a song...
'Zghayroun' was the name of that song and it was made into a video clip which is now being aired on Melody Hits TV.

Zizi on Dubai TV

Star Academy 2 Egyptian semi-finalist, Zizi Adel was on Dubai TV last Thursday night. She was a guest on the show 'Maa Nashwa'. She talked about her future plans with Rotana and about the time she spent in the academy; she also announced that some of the songs on her album are going to be composed by her.

Ahmed Al Sherif on 'Ya Leil Ya Ein'

After Nancy Ajram and Amel Hijazi, Tunisian Singer and Star Academy 1 contestant Ahmed Al Sherif was the guest of the 3rd episode of the Lebanese TV Show ‘'Ya Leil Ya Ein'. Ahmed sang 3 of his popular songs: ‘Ben Ennas’, ‘Todana’ and ‘Sidi Saleh’.

The contestants were some of the students of LBC Star Academy 2. The girls’ team contestants were: Salma Algazali from Algeria, Katia Haraka from Lebanon, Amani Al Swissi from Tunisia and Zizi Abdel Al Rahem from Egypt. As for the boy’s team, the contestants were: Bashar Al Ghazawi from Jordan, Ahmed Saleh Al Din from Bahrain, Ahmed Hussein from Kuwait and Samer Thomat from Lebanon.

Starac 2 .... 4 x 1

The 4 finalist of Star Academy 2, Bashar Gazawi, Salma Gazali, Katia Harake and Samer Doumet has signed a contract for their album with Rotana. The album would contain 2 songs for each student and their might be a dueto by Salma and Bashar... The video is also said to be aired on TV by the time of releasing the album which is going to be around june.

Tunisian Star Academy 2 contestant Amani Swisi, has signed a record deal to release her fist album.
The album will be hitting the stores by December 2005.

Bashar and Salma are Getting Married

Star academy 2 students Bashar AlGhazawi from Jordan and Salma AlGhazali from Algeria are getting married in almost 2 weeks from now, exactly on the 18th of this month August 2005.

They will be traveling to Algeria to continue the marriage ceremony there at Salma’s home country with her family members…

Amani in Gibran and the Prophet

Amani, the Star Academy's student is going to finish preparation in Beirut during July for the theatrical play ‘Gibran Wel Nabi - Gibran and the Prophet -’ , in which she will be starring. The play will be presented during Byblos International Festival 2005, as of August 17th until 21st. The play is written by outstanding artist Mansour Rahbani, the music composed by Oussama Rahbani and directed by Marwan Rahbani, with the participation of more than 80 Lebanese artists. Amani will sing with the famous and great artist Ghassan Saliba, Carol El Hajj, Budour Gibran, Yousef Al Khal, Paul Suleiman and some other artists...

3 Concert in Tunisia

Three Star Academy concerts will be held in Tunisia, the first two will be in tunis the capitol today the 24th and tomorrow 25th, and the third in the city of Sfax on the 27th of june 2005.

Star Academy 2 Concert in Jordan

16 May 2005, is the night when the stars of star academy 2 are scheduled to perform in Jordan, in the Arena. Everyone is in their seats waiting for the show to start, and all of a sudden the lights go out!
Music, screaming, fans are the perfect combination of a CONCERT and that's exactly what was going on. As we all know, Sofia from Star Academy 1 was also with them :)
She started the concert with the song (Je Suis malade) everyone was so happy and started screaming Sofia Sofia Sofia...

2 days ago, LBC TV hosted a special discussion on one of its weekly program… The discussion was about Star Academy & Saudi Arabia culture after the winning of Hisham Abdul Rahman…

Three main guests talked and showed different opinions about Star Academy show and its good and bad sides on the Arab World… One of the guests was totally against Real TV programs and he was wondering if any Arab Family would send its daughter to participate in such programs!!! – Families from Lebanon, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Syria and Algeria already sent their daughters… -

Another guest said in a sarcastic way: ‘Do we have to be either with 100% Bin Laden or 100% Star Academy??’

Hisham in Saudi Arabia

Hisham Abdul Rahman is still living the moments of his victory in Saudi Arabia, after he won the title of “Star” at the Arab version of Star Academy. After arriving in Jeddah, he immediately headed to Riyadh to pay a special visit to Prince Walid Bin Talal at his office and to thank him for everything especially the privet jet that took him home from Beirut...

During our interview with Mr. Mustafa Souissi at his photography studio in down town Tunis, he talked a lot about his family, the brothers and sisters of Amani, his life without his daughter and the many reasons he couldn’t be in touch with his daughter throughout all these years, although he tried his best to.

Star Academy's Chosen 4 to Tour

As part of the usual schedule of Star Academy, there are 8 students that will tour the Arab world a few weeks after the end of the program. 4 of these students are the final four; Hisham Abdul Rahman, Amani Swisi, Zizi Adel and Ahmad Hussein. The other four were chosen by the teachers of the Academy after lots of debating and they are: Bashar Ghazawi, Katia Haraka, Samer Dhoumet and Salma Ghazali.
They weren’t chosen randomly, but there were certain reasons, some of which are:
Intelligence, talent and behavior of Bashar. Presence and coquette ness of Katia. Tenderness in voice and presence of Samer. Energy and zest of Salma.

Changes Must Be Made

After watching the second season of Star Academy, I am sure many of you agree that changes must be made to Star Academy 3! I fear that if this same notion of voting is repeated in Star Academy 3; it will suffer a downturn. I believe the voting scheme should be changed as to 50 % of the votes by fans and 50 % by the teachers themselves.

Star Academy 2 was a complete disaster in my point of view, the students who really did deserve to win like Amani and Zizi, did not! And the only explanation to that is because of patriotism. Even though I am from the Middle-East, that does not mean I am obliged to vote for Hisham. Star Academy is a show of talents, not a show to prove which citizens are more patriotic and which of them support their candidate more.

Hilda, LBC Star Academy Program Presenter

Since Star Academy started last year on the Lebanese channel LBC, we have gotten introduced to a beautiful woman called Hilda!
Hilda has been the presenter of LBC Star Academy in its two seasons so far, and she has been doing a good job.
We have seen her live on stage, and also on the Star Academy Dailies, and she has become a household face.

Final Star Academy Prime 15.04.2005

The last Prime of LBC Star Academy has been a big blast! It was the season’s finale, and was full of beautiful portraits, a great surprise guest and two finalists that fired up the atmosphere. Who won the Ford Mustang? 50.000$ ? and the title of “Star”?

The finalists, Saudi Hisham Abdul Rahman, and Tunisian Amani Swissi, have been competing for the title of “Star” for nearly 4 months. At the end of this prime it was revealed who has won the title of “Star” of the second season of the popular program Star Academy according to the voting of the audiences around the world.
The surprise guest was the famous Lebanese singer Asi El Hillani.

I have a comment to say I love the show but you know and every body knows how beautiful voice amany has and how hard she works. I just think that wasn't fair, so who's funny, and cute win. I know it was the people who votes but it's your show and it's your rules, everybody here was disappointed about the result. Anyway I know you guy's worked very hard with them I wish the best for all the teachers and I hope for amany the best, her voice is a treasure, she is beautiful inside out.

Everybody deep in his heart knows that the result of final Star Academy 2 was so unjust. It gives a bad picture on the arabic audience, music, and societies.
Is money the key to being a star? I think, well I'm sure it is nowadays, but good things speak for themselves.

Amani's Father is Sad

Amani's father Mr. Mustafa Souissi called us with sadness, he expressed his sorrow & disappointment towards the results of star academy 2 but to him the real star is Amani nevertheless, he is happy that his daughter has gotten this wide recognition and he is very proud of her.

This week’s prime has been based on suspense. It was the semi-final prime, where two nominees compete for the chance to be in the finals; Hisham from Saudi Arabia and Zizi from Egypt faced each other in order for one only to move on to the finals against Tunisian Amani Swisi next week, and have a 50/50 chance of being “The Star”.
The three students did their best and sang along side the guests Diana Haddad and Isam Karika.

Starac Voting Results

For the 4th time Hisham Abdul Rahman has been saved by the audience’s votes, and thus he moves to the finals to stand against Amani Swisi from Tunisia.

The 13th prime of LBC Star Academy was just like the previous ones! Due to the students being only 4, and later 3, there was not much variety, although the prime was full of songs and a few portraits it has become monotonous!
The guests were: famous Egyptian singer Ihab Tawfik and Tunisian Nawal Ghasham.

'Greetings of the day. I have viewed the training and educational process for star academy students and I have a point I'd like to clear for your attention. I believe that Teacher's diversity of backgrounds and nationalities should be considered as to get in harmony with the diversity among your students. I am sure that the value of your training, teachings, evaluations and measurements of performance shall be of higher accreditation once you consider tutors' diversity issues.

Evaluation Stress

- While having Breakfast, the students were practicing the evaluation song. Katia was amongst the students who were worried the most, she hasn’t prepared anything yet!

- Choreography with Allisar. Allisar tried to motivate the students and tell them to become more energetic and avoid laziness. They started off with jogging/running exercises to wake them up. At the end, Katia was telling Allisar how hard the song is, and that she can’t do it!

- After each one of them did his evaluation, they went to Aida’s class. In this class, they let out what they want to say about it. They all agreed unanimously that they were stressed as usual about the evaluation. Time marched on and they felt that they are going through the mill. A miasma of frustration prevailed among the Academy. As a result, Aida gave them some remarks in order to improve their performance. The prevailing wind is sadness and worries about the nomination tomorrow. Well, let’s keep our fingers crossed!

Star Academy Prime 18-03-2005

This Friday prime was very nice, touchy and full of surprises. Carol Samaha was the first guest to start singing along with Zizi which her performance today was very good. Then and this time earlier than before, the nominees Samer & Bashar were invited to join the rest of the students starting with Samer & a quick review about him then Hilda asked Zizi and Amani to come and sing, after which Bashar came to sing and also a review about him at the academy and why he was chosen nominee again…

After that the first surprise was there, Bashar Kaisi singing along with Hisham and Ahmad, the longest part of the song was shared by Hisham and Bashar...

Against the Rules, Why Only Bashar?

'Why in the world is Bachar Q. in the academy. I hope I'm not alone when I say he has got to get out. He can't sing well at all. It is completely against the rules. Why don't they bring back Fahed I mean he could do all things musical and had a better voice then a lot that are still in the academy. but no they bring in Bachar Q. the show off. I would like to hear what people think on Bachar Q. and why they didn't bring someone like Fahed instead? I would really like to hear what you all think.'

Zizi New Look

As we all know recently the President of the Academy Roula Sa'ad approached Zizi in a harsh tone and had told her to pack her clothes for she is leaving the day after. Zizi's reaction was natural, she was shocked! She later called her parents to see if something was wrong or if she had caused something! Later we found out this whole conspiracy .. "NEW LOOK"!!!

LBC Star Academy 2 Prime – 11.march.2005 –

Tonight's guests were Lebanese Star Elissa, and Egyptian singer Khaled Ajaj. Unlike any other prime, this was the first time the nominees are only two; Jordanian Bashar Ghazawi and Algerian Salma Ghazali.
Hilda looked as beautiful as always and extremely cool in a casual blue jeans and a formal green top.
This week there were only 3 top students and they were: 3. Ahmad H. 2. Katia 1. Amani.

As usual the prime had lots of portraits and tableau's, one of which was very impressive and it was taken from the very famous movie "Saturday Night Fever", in addition to the weekly duo, which was performed by Katia and Amani, and the weekly medley.

Salma Leaves the Academy ...

LBC Star Academy 2 Prime - 4 March 2005

Tonight the prime was lit by the presence of the Tunisian star Latifa, in addition to Egyptian singer Baha' Sultan.
The nominees were; Ahmad Hussein, Samer Doumet and Ahmad Salah El Din.
Hilda, the charismatic presenter "whom we have gotten used to" was dressed in beautiful violet, in contrast to last week's sad black.

Latifa started the prime off in a bright yellow dress, and sang a song taken from the famous play by Mansour Rahbani "Hukm Alruian" – judgment of the shepherds -, Tunisian student Amani shared the stage with Latifa and sang beautifully with her.
Katia also had a chance to sing with Latifa, they sang the award winning song "Ma Trouhsh Baied" – don’t go far-.

Star Academy 2 Prime; A Salute to Lebanon

After a week's delay, Star Academy 2 returns with a very special prime dedicated to Lebanon; a small country with a very big heart.
This special soiree featured the stars of the 1st season of Star Academy.
The nominees this week were Samer, Joy and Ahmad Salah El-Din.
This week there were only 4 top students as a result of the lessening of the students each week. And they were: 4. Zizi, 3. Bashar G., 2. Katia, 1. Ahmad Hussein.

The prime began with a song "La Ma Khelsit El Hkaieh" -no, the story hasn’t ended-, which was appropriate with the whole sad events in Lebanon after the assassination of Prime Minister Rakif Hariri. This moving song was performed by famous Lebanese stars who gathered especially for this occasion like: Sabah, Wael Kfouri, Haifa Wehbe, Nancy Ajram, Melhem Zein and many more.
The words were strong, sad and very moving; words about Lebanon, Beirut, freedom, independence and most of all, the late Rafik Hariri.

What Happened During Last Week

- Hilda first mentioned that even though we haven’t been showing Star Academy, but life in Star Academy was still going on. Students were having fun, performing, dancing and everything was going normal.

- As an introduction, the students recorded some songs of star academy.
Hisham sang his nominee song. As they recorded, Ahmad S made a mistake and Hisham and Ahmad H blamed him. Ahmad H was then having problems with the song Zizi made “Un Deux Trois”, it was hard for him to pronounce.

- Oussama Rahbani, asked the students to perform and ask them questions at the same time. Salma started and was confronted; she then started singing this French song. Joy then came next and was confronted too about Bashar Al Q; she then started singing an Arabic song but Oussama told her to sing another one with more feelings...

Star Academy Friday Prime

There will be no prime today.

All the students are fine and they are enjoying their time at the academy talking about hollywood stars, movies and singers and fooling around like small kids.

Friday Youmiyat of Star Academy

- Preparations for Michelle’s birthday were made. Blowing Balloons and writing on boards. During that period, they decided to shut all the lights to surprise Michelle. Then Michelle appeared and he was really happy and shocked. They sang “happy birthday”, cut the cake, and celebrated; it was wonderful! Michelle is turning 29!!! After the celebration, they then decided to take a picture for remembrance.

- Hisham mentioned that he will be very sad when one of them leaves. I’ve grown closer to them, and I will miss them dearly he said. Ahmad H was trying to calm him down and make him feel better.

- The 3 Nominees sang the new nominee song about Bahrain, Kuwait and KSA.

- Samer decided to give the Parrot “Billia”/”Staro” some fruits and cocktail juice. He was also talking to him in a very weird language.

LBC Star Academy Prime 11.02.2005

Tonight’s Prime was full of surprises, and extra ordinary guests, and beautiful portraits.
This prime’s guests were the famous Lebanese singer Julia Butros, and the renowned pianist Richard Clayderman.
As for the surprises, some were concerned with Algerian Salma, and others were basically beautiful portraits and medleys.
Salma’s dream came true; she is going to go out for a day with her favorite singer, Lebanese stud Wael Kfouri.

Thursday Star Academy Youmiyat Headlines

- Several conversations were made to the so-called Parrot, Staro/Billia.
Later on Katia decided to carry the Parrot all around the Academy which showed care.

- While having lunch, Hisham, Ahmad S and Fahad sang one of the nominee songs as they were worried so they wanted to release tension by doing so.

- Repetition of what the President Roula Sa’ad said about the “Jenaina” and the punishments. Ahmad H was talking about the opening in the Jenaina and what they did when their friends came such as climbing up to say hi to them which was a mistake. As a punishment, the students as a group had to plant different trees and fix the garden by adding soil and other substances. Then Amani started complaining by saying this is her first time in her entire life doing this. And Katia replied its ok, you’re doing ok. Fahad on the other hand, said that we deserved this punishment and we did all the work together and we will stay together forever!

LBC Star Academy Prime 04/02/2005

The sixth prime was like all other primes… I actually am out of words...
But nevertheless, it was very nice to watch and extremely entertaining; with Saber Rebai from Tunisia and Amal Hijazi from Lebanon as the nights guests.
The Academy students sang well, and interacted in beautiful portraits as usual.
The student to get the lion’s share in singing was Katia Haraka from Lebanon.
