Sofia Opens Up About Bashar

All those avid Star Academy fans out there will remember the love story that was initiated during the first season of LBC Star Academy between Moroccan Sofia Al Mareekh and Kuwaiti Bashar Al Shatty. For the first time in a while Sofia announced that the love between her and Bashar was not meant to be for several reasons she couldn’t disclose and instead it has turned into a strong friendship. According to Sofia, Bashar was the first to call her and congratulate her on ‘Kelmet Hob’, her new album which made her very happy.

Star Academy Students in Egyptian Movies

- Baha Al Kafi is working on a movie starring Egyptian singer Sheriff Makkawi.

- Tunisian Star Academy 1 Soumaya is going to star in a movie project starring young Egyptian actors. What makes this movie different, is that it's funded by the actors themselves and is going to be shot with a digital cam-corder!

- Mira is also preparing for a movie entitled "A Feminine Moment" -Lahzet Onoutha-

Star Academy Students' Latest Plans - Part 1

The students of the past 3 seasons of LBC Star Academy are working hard to launch their careers ... Some of them are on the right track, while unfortunately others are not really finding their way!
As you might already know, Star System & Rotana are working with the students to help them with launching their albums & marketing them in the Arab world.

Tunisian Amani Swissi is putting the final touches on her first album which is being produced by Rotana. Her album is due in May 2007.

LBC Star Academy Students Reunite for Star System

On the occasion of Star System's 3rd anniversary, the company held a huge party in Beirut.
The guest list was also a long list of famous names of journalists ... In addition to the popular Star Academy stars of the past 3 seasons. They all reunited for the occasion & the atmosphere was so warm & fun through-out the night.
The presence of Salma Ghazali & Bashar Ghazawi was the one that stole the spotlights.
The other starac stars attending the party were Joseph Attieh, Hani Hussein, Hana Idrissi, Maya Nehmeh, Samer Doumet, Ahmad Al Sharif, Fadi Andraous, Amani Souissi, Shaima Hilali & Wajdi Al Akhal.

I wonder where others like Zizi & Hisham & Bashar Al Shatti were?
I also wonder where Mohammad Attieh's been hiding all this time?

Sofia El Marikh's 25th Birthday

Sofia El Marikh, the star of star academy's first season has turned 25 yesterday. It was 3 years ago that she first dawned on the LBC, December 5. The queen, as Sofia is often called, was one of the most voted for girls and most loved on the show.
Happy birthday dear Sofia!!! hope to see you in good health and in glorifying success soon.

Bruno & Soumaya First Video Clip

Friendship is the only thing that remains forever; we can see that in LBC Star Academy 1 contestants Soumaya Joueini from Tunisia and Bruno Tabbal from Lebanon… they have recorded a song together called ‘Oumry Ebtada’ where Soumaya is the singer and Bruno is the director.

I really like the song and I like the way Soumaya & Bruno cooperated with each other, you can watch the video clip of their new first song on Melody Hits.

Sofia Al Marikh, Suicide or Poisoning

Moroccan Star Academy 1 contestant Sofia Al Marik seems to be suffering from severe depression and sadness because she thinks that her happy days of fame and being a star are over… that’s why according to many sources she tried to commit suicide for the second time by swallowing a big quantity of pills… Fortunately, she was saved again.

It’s worth mentioning that star academy rehearsal coach Michel Fathel seems to have a relationship with Sofia since he stayed with her at the hospital while she was recovering. However when he was asked about his relation with Sofia and his frequent visits to her in Morocco, he said that his relation with her is a music business relation and nothing more, he also mentioned that Sofia didn’t commit suicide but suffered from poisoning.

Sofia Guest of Al Qahera Al Youm

Sofia - Star Academy 1 contestant - was the guest of Orbit's famous daily night show "Al Qahera Al Youm" hosted by Amr Adeeb & Mona AlSharqawy...
on the show Sofia talked about many things including her career, the reality show and her relation to Bashar AlShati.

The highlights of the show were:

- Sofia is suffering from the ignorance of the large production companies... which lead her to fund her upcoming album on her own budget.

- She will shoot her first video clip in couple of weeks and it might be available for airing in a month or two.

Bahaa Al Kafi & Wa3adni

The shy and coy Star Academy Tunisian student Bahaa Al Kafi, has come out of the shell at last, and has released a single entitled Wa3adni - he promised me - . She has also shot a video clip for this song, and is now broadcasting all over the music channels.
She still looks the same and moves in the same way, which by the way i think she should loosen up a bit more, yet she sings quite well.

Ahmed Sherif Interview on Rotana

Yesterday was a night full of romance, excitement and music for the viewers of Rotana Musica.
It was an exclusive evening ‘Ma3 Hubi’ with Tunisian heartthrob Ahmed Sherif, and the fantastic songs from his new album, his first album ‘Ben Elnas’.

Ahmed was charismatic as ever, and the audience that was mainly made up of females, went crazy for him. During the interview, there were many guests also, like poet Ahmad Madi and Director Emil Slailati, who directed Ahmed’s first video clip. There were also surprise phone calls from Mohammad Khalawi and Baha Kafi.

Bashar ElShatti First Album

Star Academy 1 student Bashar El-Shatti first album is ready, its called 'Geded' and includes 13 songs. Bashar has cooperated in the album with poets from the Gulf area in addition to Arabs; like Da'eg Al-Khalifa, Al-Nasser and Saher. El-Shatti also worked with composer Mesh'el Al-Oroug in several songs and Khaled El-Sheikh in his song 'Mo Haram' that was written by his brother; poet Youssef El-Shatti, and composers Ya'koub Al-Khebezy and Abdullah Al-Qaoud.

Yasser, Leila, Baha’ and M. Khalawi

The stars of Star Academy have been appearing on the Lebanese channel LBC since Ramadan in a very interesting show called “hai hiea el geniea”. The show this week featured the songs of the seventies. Arabic songs mainly and also the European and American trends of the famous Disco. In addition to important movies that made a boom in the seventies such as The Godfather –part one- .

The stars of Star Academy also participated in the show; Yasser from Egypt, Leila from Lebanon, Baha’ from Tunisia and Khalawi from Saudi Arabia sang famous songs from the seventies. The show also hosted famous Lebanese singers from the seventies in addition to the beautiful Haifa Wahbi as well, who sang some old and some new songs.

Star Academy's New Album & Mohammed Attiya First Single

Star Academy's new album has been confirmed! Its in Lebanon stores now, and will release around the Arabian countries soon! A date isn't confirmed, but the album is! Its called "Helwa Al Hayat".

The cover of the album is red, and has a picture of all 8 of the Star Academy members...

Star Academy Prime this time wasn’t as full as usual, only four students performing and two nominees.

The guests were Lebanese Pascal Mash’alani and Yuri Mraqadi. Baha’ got the biggest share in singing with Pascal, both Attieh and Ahmad each sang with Yuri. Khalawi sang solo once. Bachar & Sofia also sang, but with a touch of choreography with the help of the dancing group...

This prime was extraordinary; with Chris de burgh as the guest of honor, Aline Khalaf, Marwa. In addition to Elissa’s special appearance.
What was quiet different was the number of students participating … each time the number gets smaller & smaller, that is the rule of the game. This time they were 8 students & 3 nominees: Lebanese Bruno Tabbal, Moroccan Sophia & Tunisian Soumaya Jouini .
