Maria Sharapova .. US Open

Wimbledon champ Maria Sharapova is out of the US Open. She was beaten by Mary Pierce 4-to-6, 6-to-2, 6-to-3. Pierce, a dozen years older than Sharapova, was superb after trailing 1-3 in the third set.

Half an hour after her loss, Sharapova sat in a lounge, picking at a sandwich and chatting on a cell phone. She certainly didn't seem too flustered.
