Angham & Another Divorce!

Angham may be an excellent singer and artist but she isn’t so successful in her marital life. For the second time in her life, Angham has gotten divorced and this time from Fahd, a fellow musician. The reason for the divorce is rumored to be that the two have been arguing a lot due to relations that Fahd had that Angham didn’t approve of. Neither of the two have actually made a statement regarding the reasons behind the divorce but they have said they will remain colleagues and friends especially that they have a little son.

Bahaa Sultan: An Actor?

Bahaa Sultan has decided to extend himself into the world of TV after his historic success in the music world. Bahaa is acting in a series that goes by the name of ‘Ragel West Setaat’ (A man among women) and is joined by Ashraf Abdel Baky and Intessar. Bahaa’s part is perfectly suite for him as he plays a singer who the main character goes to for guidance because he loves writing songs.

Tamer Hosny’s Life Story!

Tamer Hosny just recently finished filming 15 episodes of a new show that is solely based on his life story. Tamer demanded that the whole filming of the show be a matter of top secrecy until it actually airs. The 15 episode program is based in Tamer’s house and in every episode he discusses an aspect of his career and life including his jail experience. Some of Tamer’s friends such as Ramy Waheed and Ameer Mahrous will also be appearing to reveal some of the deepest aspects of his personality.

We all know about how the media can take one word and turn it into a serious rumour and the latest victim was Angham. Several media sources stated that Angham had began filming a new video clip and that during the shooting she had acquired serious injuries which some said lead to the seizing of all filming. Soumaya: ‘It’s Unfair’!

16 year old Egyptian singer Soumaya came into the world of music with a blast of controversy, her voice was likened to Shereen and she was even accused of copying her. Soumaya comes from a very musical family and during her studying of music in Egypt, composer Ashraf Salem discovered her and composed her entire album for her. Now Soumaya is speaking about the accusations and her new album ‘Bakeyt Betwhashny’. Soumaya says the comparison between her and Shereen is unfair and that no two voices are alike and she hopes with all her heart that she can one day reach the level that Shereen reached with her music.

A ‘Wave’ Of New Bands

Many have blamed it on MBC’s program ‘Album’ but the fact is, there is a number of bands that have started surfacing especially in Egypt these days. This summer you might have heard of ‘Seneen’ a new boy band who recorded their first album and video clip both of which were a hit! A new band has released an album and video clip but this time it’s called ‘wave’. The new and different thing about this band is that it is made up of 2 males and 2 females which is a first for Arab bands generally.

Shereen is Pregnant!

Shereen is to be singing prayers during Ramadan and a duo with Ali El Haggar? Well scratch that! Shereen is expecting a bundle of joy. She has confirmed that she is expecting her first child with her husband Mohammed Mustafa! Because of this surprise and just 48 hours before Ramadan, Shereen told the creators of this Ramadan project that due to her pregnancy which is affecting her health, she won’t be able to do it!

We all know that Ruby’s manager and director for all her video clips is Dr. Sherif Sabri but it seems that he is tired of her because he has sold her to Waleed Mustafa. The name Waleed Mustafa may sound familiar and that is because he owns one of the biggest and most exclusive beaches in Marina ‘La Plage’. Tamer Hosni Steals Amr’s Part

Although Amr Diab has an undeniable past it seems that Tamer Hosni is climbing the ladder fast and trying to catch up to him. An agency recently put Tamer’s name forward for a part that for a long time was known to belong to Amr Diab. The movie in question is about Al Andalus when it was under Islamic rule. As for the motivation behind this sudden change in mind some say that Tamer proved himself through his latest movie ‘Amr W Salmah’ and so he deserves to be considered.

Moustafa Amar’s Mother Passes Away

One thing that doesn’t seem to discriminate between socialite and ‘regular person’ is death and Egyptian star Moustafa Amar was one to experience this when his mother passed away. Moustafa had rushed to Alexandria immediately after he heard that his mother was ill and remained by her side until she passed away. Moustafa was obviously devastated but he was lucky enough to have all his friends to console him.

Heba El Sisi: A Homosexual?!

Anyone who has seen ‘Omaret Yakoubian’ will have witnessed actor Khalid El Sawi playing a homosexual character and after he did such a great job people started claiming he himself was a homosexual!
After that commotion Khalid said he would never repeat the part but it seems former Ms Egypt Heba El Sisi is not learning from his so called mistake and has taken on the role of a homosexual in a new movie herself.

Sherine Gets Hitched at Midnight!

As Sherine was interviewed in the ritual pre-show interview at the Carthage Festival, she dropped a bombshell. Sherine Abdelwahab married musical arranger Mohammed Mustafa 48 hours ago at midnight!

Sherine said, "at 11:30 pm I didn't know I was going to be married, at 12 I was! It was Mohammed's spontaneous idea and I didn't want to spoil his fun. He is 'hob omri' [the love of my life]". She called her manager and asked to him to bring two rings and announce the wedding at midnight!

Somaya A New Copycat?

Many of you will have seen the movie ‘Kashf Hesab’ or seen clips from it on Melody TV accompanied by a beautiful song titled ‘El Ayam’ and will have realized that the girl singing this song sounds very much like Shereen Abdel Wahab! Truth be told I thought it was her until today when I discovered that it was actually a rising Egyptian 16 year old singer who goes by the name of Somaya.

That’s what people are saying about Amr Diab’s new album, which was officially released on Wednesday, July 11th. The album, which was leaked over the Internet on the 7th of July, sold over one million copies in 5 days, in the Middle East. Just walk down a street in Egypt these days, and you will listen to one singer only, Amr Diab. That also goes for many other countries.

Angham’s new album has proven to be a huge success after it sold about 75,000 cassettes and 20,000 CD's in Egypt only! With this record, Angham has overcome Nancy Ajram and Najwa Karam’s album sales. It is expected that the sales of the album will sky-rocket in the next days.

Hany Shaker has been named by his internet fans as ‘Al Andaleeb Al Abyad’ and his loyal fans have discussed how they are going to help promote his new and upcoming album ‘Ahla El Layali’ (‘Most beautiful of nights’). Saad El Soghayar Sues His Producers!

It seems the problems between Saad El Soghayar and his producer Tareq Abd Allah and his company ‘High Quality’ escalated pretty fast especially after the huge success that Saad’s last album ‘Had yeshtery alb’ made! According to Saad he hasn’t been paid for his work on the album and so he has sued Tareq and his company and asked for the court to grant him amnesty from the contract or to grant him the money he is owed.

Finally we will get to listen to the new album of Amr Diab after his long absence. Amr Diab will release his album in 7/7/2007 (Funny…huh?!). Diab will be in his new look singing “El Leila Di” which is also the title of his new album. This album was delayed a few times starting at New Year’s Eve and till June 10th which is the birthday of his daughter Nour, but was finally settled to be released on July 7th. The album will contain songs like; “Aletly Laa”, “Dehket”, “Allah Aleik”… and much more.

Saad El Soghayar… A Shame!

Maybe a lot of you have received an email that contains a clip for the alleged singer Saad El Soghayar when he was singing in a very modest place with a dancer by his side. The scene seems to be very normal but when you watch for a few more minutes, you will be shocked by seeing him kissing the dancer all over her body, singing very nasty lyrics and making “sexual” movements and this entire scene is happening in public. It was a very disgusting clip that made my eyebrows reach my hair!

Amr Diab is Back!

Angham’s New Video Clip

Talented Egyptian singer Angham returns to the limelight with a new video clip that she is planning to release before her before her upcoming album with Rotana, “Khod Minni Rouhi”, hits stores. The video she is starting to shoot is for her new song “Ma Balash Netaawad Ala Baad”. Sherine Signs With Rotana AudioVisual (A Tale of 2 Stories)

Egyptian singer, Sherine Abdelwahab and Rotana Audiovisual, the largest producer and distributor of Arabic entertainment, held a party on the beginning of this month. The party celebrated Sherine's signing of a 3-year, two-album contract with Rotana. Rotana will both produce and distribute the album. Naturally, in the Rotana fashion, Sherine's video clips will become Rotana exclusives. However, it is also a chance for Sherine to grow artistically and explore new horizons; she now doesn't have to deal with Free Music owner Nasr Mahrous breathing down her neck. Sherine is one of a series of contracts Rotana is trying to sign with younger talent. Other examples would be X-Factor winner Rajaa, and Sara El Hani.

Tamer Hosni for Mother's Day

On the occasion of Mother's Day, a huge concert will be held in Egypt on the 29th of March, with participation by singers from around the Arab world.
Tamer Hosni, Janat, Rami Ayach, Yara & Haitham Shaker will perform an 'Operat' written by Ayman Bahjat Amar, composed by Hamid El Shairy and directed by Othman Abu Laban.
What's special about this 'Operat', is that the choir will include children and so will the orchestra.

Tamer Husni Escapes Death!

It seems Tamer Husni's fans were about to kill him out of love!
Husni was at one of the government buildings in Cairo when the elevator he was in fell from the fourth floor to the ground floor! The people in the elevator weren't injured, but fear & confusion had already taken control of them.
How & why did the elevator fall, you might ask? Well, Tamer Husni's fans are the reason!
Husni, his brother & a camera man were about to get into an elevator, when fans recognized them & started flooding the elevator! The heavy weight in that old elevator made it go down without any notice!

Finally ... Loay's Comeback

Finally the new album of Egyptian singer Loay has been released after three years of absence. The reason of this long absence was Loay’s problems with the producers. Loay is back with a nice album called "Meen Haye'dar", containing nine romantic songs, one of which is "Wahed Min El Nas" which was the song of Karim Abdel Aziz movie "Wahed Mn El Nas". Loay will be making the song "Ah Ya Shooq" into a video clip very soon.

Sherine Denies Singing This!

Maybe anyone of you heard the latest song of Sherine named “Qalb we Rah”. But surprise! It is not her song. The song have been spread over the internet and mobile phones lately with Sherine’s voice and name but it seems that there is an unknown singer named Osama Abdel Ghany sang it and his voice is very much like Sherine’s.

Osama thanked Sherine for being the reason behind the success of the song.

Will Roby Be Banned From Singing?

After the shock that Roby caused for lots of people with her clip wearing belly dancing costume, she gained a temporary permission from the Music Syndicate to sing. It was said then that they gave her this permission because she donated 50,000 EGP to the syndicate.

Lately, a lawyer sued Roby and brought her into court to stop her from singing. He says that Roby is forcing the youth to give up their traditions and religion with her obscene video clips.

Amr Diab at Dubai’s Shopping and Tourism Festival

As part of Dubai’s Shopping and Tourism Festival, famous Egyptian singer Amr Diab held a concert in Dubai last week after 2 years of absence. He was paid 87,000 $ which makes him the highest paid singer in the history of the concerts held in Dubai.

Amr Diab has delayed this concert several times because he was busy preparing for his new album that was supposed to be released in the New Year’s Eve. The album is named “Khaleek Ma’aya” and will be released by February.

Ruby's Love and Failure

If I know one thing about life, it’s that you should find something you're good at and stick to it! Egyptian singer Ruby isn't doing that.
While her fans (including me) are waiting for her upcoming album, she's been busy failing the bar exam to allow her to practice law for the third time in a row.

Come on Ruby, face it dear, you're no lawyer! Stick to singing and dancing, people love you for it!

She said she wouldn't go for the 4th attempt, but her mother and sister are trying to convince her otherwise.

Hakim's Nobel Prize!

I supposed the title might be misleading but no Arabic singer is going to get as close to the Nobel Prize as Hakim will this up coming award ceremony.
He was ecstatic with happiness. He said he felt a great responsibility towards this task saying that he will present one song about peace and another of his own work in the huge ceremony this 11th of December which will be seen in over 100 countries.

I suggest "Al Nar" that would really fire up the place!

Shabulla to Sue!

Sha'ban Abed Al Rahim, or Sha'bulla - as some of his fans like to call him - is suing the director of the new TV show "Toto wa Bijama" which is currently showing on satellite TV stations around the Arab world. Shaban, who just recently returned from Omra, was surprised to find he'd been replaced for the part of a video-clip director with another actor. The director, Adel Makin, said that he had to replace the popular singer due to his sudden & agreed upon absence.

But Sha'ban can do better anyway...

He's studying the idea of establishing a newspaper called "Masarwa" which will be a political-artistic newspaper which will express the views of the people.
After he gets the license to launch the paper, the first dialogue will be with non other than Egypt's number 1 man, President Hosni Mubarak himself.

Tamer Housni is Not Engaged

The news of the engagement of Egyptian singer Tamer Housni which has been circulating in many newspaper and magazines recently is false; ‘This is just a rumor ‘ Tamer Said. One of Tamer’s relatives also said: ‘the news of Tamer’s engagement is a big lie that we don’t know who started it, Tamer doesn’t even know a girl called Sara!!’

What’s worth mentioning is that Tamer Housni is still serving his due military service.

Ruby New Look, Video Clip & Album

Egyptian singer Ruby will be back soon with a new look, new Album and new video clip called ‘Macheet Wara Ehsase’; the shooting of Ruby’s new video clip took place in Sharm Al Sheikh and was directed by Sharif Sabri who said that this video clip will be very different than the old ones in which Ruby always insists that she dances for fun and not to seduce!

Ruby’s new album contains 8 songs and will be released on the last week of October 2006.

Shaaban Abdel Rahim Sings for Lebanon

Egyptian singer Shaaban Abdel Rahim released a new song, this time about the Attack of Israel on Lebanon in which he condemn Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert who insists on continuing war on Lebanon. The song is written by Shaaban Abdel Rahim poet Islam Khalil.

Amr Diab Concert in Germany

Famous Egyptian singer Amr Diab will be performing live in a concert organized by Nofretete-Management at the Grugahalle in Essen, Germany on the 27th of May 2006.

Amr Diab recently held a concert in Egypt at the American University in Cairo where his fans enjoyed his latest album songs and his great oldies. It was Amr’s first public concert in Egypt since the beginning of this year.

Tamer Hosni to Stop Singing

Tamer Hosni has revealed that after serving his year long jail sentence he will retire from singing and immigrate to the USA to be reunited with his father. His lawyer is still trying to shorten his sentence.
Tamer Hosni has been convicted of forging official papers to avoid military service and forging official university diplomas from the universities of Hilwan and Al Mansoura.

Wama at the Movies

Wama, the popular Egyptian boy band, are venturing into their first Cinema experience soon, and will give acting a shot!
The movie they are working on is entitled Bank Al Saada - Happiness Bank - .

Tamer Hosny & Haytham Shaker in Jail!

Haytham Shaker & Tamer Hosny have been in jail for about 30 days now! They are in the TRA prison in the south of Cairo.
The police decided that both Tamer and Haytham have to pay 50,000 L.E each! Why? because they are both banned from travelling abroad, and they both used fake passports to travel. That's one! They were also arrested by the police in a new case; they haven't gone to the obligatory army service! So they will both be spending 3 years in Jail!

Ruby in English ?!

Egyptian singer Ruby is real busy these days with intensive English courses!
She is determined to learn English very well, for her upcoming new album, where she will have a few songs that mix Arabic and English in the lyrics.

At the beginning of the new year, Ruby will start working on shooting new video clips, again with director Sherif Sabri.

Wama … Kan Nifsi

Egyptian boy group WAMA have come up with a touching song about Islam and prophet Mohammad, it is called Kan Nifsi.
The video clip is being braodcasted on the popular music channel Melody Hits. The song itself is very appealing, and the words are very nice and moving. The video clip is also very smooth and peaceful.

Amr diab is done with his new album, and it’s supposed to be released during the Muslim holiday Eid El Fitr! He worked with different composers and poets to make sure he gets the best songs for this album.

Amr diab went on a very strict diet to come out with a whole new and different look for this album. He lost about ten kilos for the shooting of the first video clip for the upcoming album.
I'm sure everything he does comes out great, because he has a great voice and looks great.

Ruby Not Banned in Jordan

After all what was said about the banning of the Egyptian singer Ruby from entering Jordan for concerts, it turns out it was only a temporary thing.

She was banned from holding a concert and so was Lebanese singer Maria. The irony is that Tina and Darine Hadshiti were not banned and were allowed to hold concerts in the same festival the others were banned from.

Ruby will be holding a concert or two in the coming feast ‘Eid Al Fitr’ and maybe in November as well.

Ruby’s Alexandria Concert Cancelled !

It seems that Ruby is starting her trip down hill these days!
Her much publicized first appearance in Alexandria proved to be a big failure, when only a few tickets to the concert were sold, and the whole thing had to be called off just hours before it began!
The arena were the concert should have been held, takes about 20 thousand people, while according to sources, only 1500 tickets were sold!
Ruby went back to Cairo with a huge frown on her face and went into a state of depression.

It seems Egyptian singer Ruby whose real name is Rania Hussein has felt that there isn’t enough seduction in her video clips to keep her on top in what ever it is she is doing! So, she has her still infamous sister 'Kuki' to help her stay on the so-called A-list of singers nowadays.

It is none other than Sherif Sabri who will be directing the video clip for the girls … and as it is very obvious, he has a very tight relation with Ruby, and has directed all her video clips so far, in addition to her first movie 'sab3 wara’at kutchina' seven playing cards. He was also behind convincing Kuki to participate in the highly seductive coming video clip.

Kuki is a few years younger than Ruby, and is a Law student.

The song is called “eba’a abelni” and it doesn’t lack “flesh” !
Again, Ruby is showing a lot of flesh, by wearing a belly dancer’s outfit, which might be an excuse for showing her belly button !
Couldn’t Sherif Sabri come up with different scripts for his “Ruby” video clips other than the state of being undressed !!!

WAMA, A Successful Boy Group

Only two years back, 4 Egyptian boys got together and created a boy group in order to try to enter the world of show business and music, they did actually succeed!
After their hit song Ya Leil, these boys have done it again. They have released their second album this year with the title Ya Ghali ‘Alaia, which is a combination of oriental music, piano, dance beats and a somewhat Boyz II Men style singing.
Some of the tracks on their new album are so much of the 90’s R&B, which is normal because the boys are extremely influenced by soul and R&B, yet they have managed to put together a repertoire that is a harmonious mixture of western and oriental melodies with amn original sound of their own.

Ruby Returns with in a Movie after the Failure of the First !

After an absence from the scene for a few months, Egyptian singer Ruby has returned after getting a leading role in the upcoming film “Dala’ Al Banat” (Spoiled Girls).

Ruby will be performing a number of songs throughout the film and it has been revealed that she has been offered a very high wage for her role. It is not understood why the singer has been offered such a high wage despite the fact that it is only her second film and her first was more of a failure than a success...

Amr Diab New Film

Amr Diab has signed a contract with production company, Al-Adel Group, to portray the role of the conqueror Tarek Bin Ziad in a film directed by Sherif Arafa who has been nominated to direct the film. The movie about the golden era of Arabs in Spain is expected to be screened in September 2005 along with the release of Amr’s next album.

On the other hand, Amr Diab has denied recent circulating rumors that a dispute has occurred between him and famous Egyptian actress Faten Hamama...

Angham as a Lebanese and an Actress!

Angham will begin shooting the scenes for her new move ‘Hikayet Madina’. Angham noted that she decided to accept the role in the film after reading the script and falling in love with the story.

She is holding extensive work sessions with the director and producer in order to finalize all the remaining details before filming. In the film, Angham will play the role a singer named ‘Hayah’, who is living the dream of fame. The film will take viewers into different stages of the singer’s life to reveal how she achieved her success. The film, which is the first for Angham, is also the first directing experience for actress Farah, who will also produce it.

On the other hand, Angham, has begun preparations for her upcoming album, after she recently left her previous production company Alam El Phan. She has plans on including a variety of songs in both the Egyptian and Lebanese accent to make her new album a success.
