Saddam Hussein to be Executed Within Hours?

saddam

Could it be that Saddam's date with death is only hours way?
It has been reported that the US had handed over the custody of Saddam to Iraqi officials & that means that's the final step before going ahead & carrying out the ruling of the court.
A Judge in Iraq also told the AP that he would be hung by no later than Saturday. Officials wished to carryout his sentence last night, but could not due to logistical reasons.
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said: "our respect for human rights requires us to execute him, and there will be no review or delay in carrying out the sentence."

Gerald Ford

Gerald Ford, who was President of the United States from 1974-1976, died today at the age of 93. He only stayed 2 years in office but ironically, he lived longer than any other president in US history.

"My family joins me in sharing the difficult news that Gerald Ford, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather has passed away at 93 years of age," said his widow Betty Ford.

Ford was the only president to not to be elected. He succeeded Richard Nixon after the Watergate scandal and pardoned him for all crimes a month later. On August 9th, 1974, Ford gave his first address to the country as President, stating his famous comment "the long national nightmare is over. Our Constitution works."

Saddam Hussein Sentenced to Hang

Saddam Hussein

Iraqi President Saddam Hussein was convicted and sentenced to hang after a court found him guilty of crimes against humanity for the killings of 148 people in the Iraqi Shiit city of Dujail. The killings occurred after a failed assassination attempt on his life in 1982.
Saddam yelled out, "Long live the people and death to their enemies. Long live the glorious nation, and death to its enemies!"

Saddam had previously demanded that he be shot to death if found guilty as he said he was a military man and under Iraqi law, military men sentenced to death are shot. But apparently, the judge has striped him of his military status and sentenced him to death as any common criminal.

Saddam’s Judges Strike Three!

Abdullah al-Amiri

Abdullah al-Amiri has been replaced as the chief judge in the trial of Saddam Hussein.
This move comes as Amiri was accused of being too soft on the former President. Also, protesting this sudden change of judges, the defense team walked out of court today. Defense lawyer Wadoud Fawzi said: “We don't expect this court established under the occupation authorities to be fair, so we decided to withdraw from this trial,"

Well congratulations everybody! We have proven to the world two things:
1- That we not only do not have the capability to overthrow our own dictators
2- We can’t even trial them ourselves!

Amiri is the third judge to be replaced by the court, what is this baseball or something?

Pluto, Now Just a Dwarf Planet

Pluto

Officially, Pluto is no longer a planet, which means that our solar system is now composed of just eight planets—a fact that we have to get used to from now on. This was the decision arrived at in a meeting by the International Astronomical Union last Thursday.

Last week, International Astronomical Union, the one responsible for naming planets and other celestial bodies, recommended that in order for a celestial body to be considered a planet, it must be round and should orbit the sun. Astronomers present at the meeting, however rejected such definition. After thoroughly and scientifically deliberating on the issue, the astronomers agreed to reclassify Pluto as a dwarf planet to put a closure to the long-time debate on what a planet is. The debate was ignited last year by the discovery of the UB313, a planet-like object.

Qana II: Israel’s 2006 Massacre

Qana 2006 Massacre

After Sabra & Chatila in 82, and Qana massacre in 96, over 55 innocent Lebanese civilians were killed last night in a new massacre as a result of the savage Israeli attacks which destroyed a three-storey building, which was sheltering several families most of them children, in the southern Lebanese town of Qana. Some of these families had fled the Israeli bombardment of the Lebanese coastal town of Tyre.

At least 30 children are believed to be among those killed in this new Israeli massacre and 3 people only were pulled alive by aid workers from the Lebanese Red Cross …

Israel's slaughtering of civilians during the terrible 19-day offensive has been so careless, so ferocious, that not a decent human in the world should stand still or silent. No decent human should forget this or forgive this.

The Sabra & Chatila massacre of Palestinians by Israel's militia allies in 1982 doomed Israel's 1982 invasion. Now the Israelis are stained again for the second time by the new bloodbath at Qana.

Israel is raising hate among every single house in the Arab world against them, and surely beyond the Arab world.

Ironically, Prime Minister Ihud Ulmert has said that Israel isn’t in a hurry for a seize fire & would continue the bombardments!

Will The FBI Find Jimmy Hoffa ?

jimmy hoffa

The latest on the mystery of the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa, the former Union Leader & Teamsters president, is the knock down of a 100-foot-long barn on a Milford Township horse farm in western Oakland County & the excavating of its concrete floor.
This has come because of a tip from a federal inmate, Donovan Wells, who lived on the farm in the 70's.Wells claims to have seen two strange men dig a large hole on the property with a backhoe, while what appeared to be a rolled-up carpet lay nearby. This happened the day after Hoffa disappeared, July 30, 1975.

More humiliation to us, violation to the Geneva Convention and more hate coming the Americans way... That’s how two newspapers British and American contribute to what is called the American crusade of peace...

This time by publishing leaked photo's of Saddam Hussein wearing only underpants in a U.S jail.
This is not only a violation to the former Iraqi president's rights, it’s a violation to every Arab in the world.

This is a fall-back for contestant "Hisham from Saudi Arabia". The main question here is why now?! Why not since the begininning?! Will Hisham make it? Or will he have to depend on other countries to vote for him?! A recent poll on WALEG showed that Hisham will be the new Star! Can it be possible?!

The U.S. Elections; Another Four Year Mistake.

After a full, hectic day of waiting for the results of the U.S. elections of 2004, all is over and unfortunately, the White House is once again the residence of the republican George W. Bush.
I, among millions of people around the world, stayed up all night to see how things are going and how the results are coming along. With each electoral vote for John Kerry and another for Bush, all sorts of ideas ran through my head about what might happen if George W. Bush got re-elected, what new war is the world going to have to deal with … and on the other hand what might John Kerry do if he became the President … Would a real change happen? Would things become better for the people of the Middle East? Would the good people of America have a better chance to prove that they are with Democracy, Humanity, Freedom and a better life for all the unfortunate people of the world? ...

Hurricane Frances

Hurricane Frances

Hurricane Frances, which may become the costliest storm to hit the U.S. in a dozen years, headed toward Florida, forcing about 2.5 million people to flee their homes.

Frances, which is wider than Hurricane Charley, may cost the most in damage since 1992's Hurricane Andrew. Andrew, a Category 5 hurricane, cost insurers $15.5 billion in claims, or $20.3 billion in today's dollars.

The hurricane is expected to slam the state's east coast between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. local time tomorrow, less than a month after Hurricane Charley caused billions of dollars in damage along Florida's west coast.
