Melinda Doolittle Leaves American Idol

melinda doolittle

Only a week away from the finals, Melinda Doolittle gets voted off the show!
Tuesday night was a challenge for Melinda because two of the three songs she sang were not chosen by her! Judge Randy Jackson gave her 'I believe in You & Me', the Idol producers gave her 'Nutbush City Limits'. In both performances she did great! The judges were really happy about how she'd performed.
Melinda chose to sing 'I'm a Woman' for the last song ... she proved to be ahead of the other two finalists Sparks & Lewis.

American Idol - Three Remain

lakisha

American Idol 6 contestant LaKisha Jones left the show last wednesday so close to the final performance!
During Tuesday's 'Disco' show, the final 4 performed songs that proved that disco is really a non-returning part of music history!
LaKisha's performnace of 'Stayin' Alive' was met by the words 'Weird' & 'Lack of energy' from the judges!
Blake Lewis didn't do well either with his performance of 'You Should Be Dancing' & 'This Is Where I Came In'.
Doolittle did fine with her choice of 'Love You Inside Out' & 'How Can You Mend a Broken Heart?'.

Stacey & Richardson Leave American Idol

Last Wednesday & after the 'American Idol Gives Back' show, it was a surprise that no one left the show ... but last night, two contestants packed their bags & said 'good-bye'!
The votes were cast based on last week's show & this Tuesday's 'Bon Jovi' inspired show.
Phil Stacey & Chris Richardson were the two contestants who received the least amount of combined votes during the past two weeks.
Tuesday night, Stacey sang Bon Jovi's "Blaze of Glory" & got 2 positive notes & 1 negative note. -from Simon as usual!-

Sanjaya Malakar Voted off American Idol ... At Last!

sanjaya malakar

Last night's American Idol elimination show was a relief to many people ... Seeing Sanjaya Malakar voted off American Idol meant there was still hope for a worthy voice to win the title. He was a nice guy ... but definitely not a singer!
Sanjaya survived all this time, not because of his voice, but because of his character, he was also 'Telegenic' ... Lots of people seemed to like him a lot & that's why he stayed.
Sanjaya was named as one of the bottom three, it was then that he knew that his time was up.

Country Night on American Idol

Last night was Country night on American Idol ... the remaining 7 contestants did their best, while some of them were great, others were really bad!
I guess the question on everyones mind is 'Will Sanjaya survive the voting this week?' ... Anything can happen!
But really, the performances were varied & the judges notes were varied as well.
The best three performances were those of Melinda Doolittle, Jordin Sparks & Blake Lewis. The others were not so good ...

Snajaya: Why the Obsession?

Sanjaya Malakar

A lot of the people who have gone on American Idol have had amazing voices but haven’t become such a huge deal as the recent vocally challenged contestant Sanjaya Malakar. Many have asked the question: why is the boy still on? Whilst some theories challenge the credibility of ‘American Idol’ claiming they keep him on for the attention he brings others claim that all Indian working in call centers are invading the phone lines in support of Sanjaya who happens to be an American Indian.

Haley Scarnato Leaves American Idol

haley scarnato

It was with tears that Haley Scarnato ended her American Idol trip yesterday.
To bid farewell to the audience & stage, she sang a reprise of "Turn the Beat Around" that was much better than her Tuesday performance.
She was with Chris Richardson & Phil Stacey on the stage as this week's bottom three. But, it was a shocker seeing him in the danger zone!
Yes ... Another week, another Sanjaya comeback! He almost freaked out with a stand up/sit down exercise ... but he's still there for yet another week!
Next week, the remaining contestants will sing country songs with Martina McBride.
