After a Michael Jackson night on Tuesday, the fate of two idol contestants was sealed!
Both Jasmine Murray and Jorge Nuñez were unlucky and were given the boot.

The Top 13 contestants of American Idol 8 have been chosen and are now ready for the final challenge!
Yesterday, three more Idol wanna-bes were picked by the audience and the judges used their 'joker card' or 'Wild Card' as they like to call it, and picked the rest of the lucky Top 13 contestants.

On Tuesday, group three performed a mixture of classics and new numbers and this is what the song list looked like:

- Arianna Afsar - "The Winner Takes It All" by ABBA
- Kendall Beard - "This One's For The Girls" by Martina McBride
- Kristen McNamara - "Give Me One Reason" by Tracy Chapman

Three more contestants have moved on to the American Idol 8 semi finals.
Adam from Los Angeles - California, Allison from Los Angeles - California and Kris from Conway - Arkansas have impressed the judges and the audience alike and gained their places for the upcoming semi finals which are due in two weeks!

So, what did Group 2 sing on Tuesday that made the majority of votes go to those three contestants and not the others?

The 8th season of American Idol has begun and the audition phase is over!
The judges, Simon, Paula, Randy and Kara have chosen a whole lot of potential idols, 36 to be exact, which they devided into three groups of 12 contestants each.
On Tuesday, the first LIVE performance show aired and the first group did their best to make sure they get the audience's votes!
