Ahmed AlSherif and Imen Finally Engaged
Ahmed AlSherif and Imen finally got engaged after many spread rumors that they got separated ...
Ahmed and Imen were in love before Ahmed joined LBC Star Academy first season and their love relationship proved to be stronger than all the obstacles that they faced starting from being far from each other for a long time and then with a growing and unexpected fame of Ahmed ... despite all that, they both stayed faithful to each other and they finally got engaged.
You can see Ahmed and Imen in the photos and also their friends from starac 1 like Mohammed Attiah, Bashar AlShatti and Baha.
Photos from Ahmed and Imen Engagement
Congratulations :)

Rola Saad: TV Presenter?

In the world of work they say that ‘those who can’t do, teach’, in the world of music and cinema it has become ‘those who can’t act or sing, present’! The most recent example is Rola Saad whose new show ‘El Haya Helwa’ will be airing on the Egyptian ‘Hayat’ channel in January! At fear of sounding biased I must say the idea of the show is ridiculously cliché: two teams separated by gender and each lead by a well known socialite. The teams compete in rounds of questions and the team with the most points moves on to the finals!
The First Anniversary of Saddam's Execution

Today marks the first anniversary of the execution of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and to commemorate this day, several ceremonies and protests are already taking place not only in Iraq but in other Arab countries like Jordan for example.
Unfortunately, the execution of Saddam Hussein hasn't stopped the violence in Iraq ... things have gotten worse since and the failure of the American government is clearer with each passing day; more causalities and blood shed in both parties - the Iraqi civilians and the U.S soldiers -.
It seems as if Vietnam memories are back in the U.S Streets; soldiers who were lucky enough to come home alive are suffering; amputation, psychological illnesses, depression ... all the consequences of an unjustified presence - war - in Iraq ... to satisfy 'the war president' Bush's blood thirst!
God rest the souls of all the innocent people who were killed in this war and may this coming New Year 2008 bring real peace in the Middle East.

Nancy Ajram: Star of 2007
With the end of 2007 only a few days away, it’s usually the time for polls!
Several polls have been conducted and the most recent being the ‘Al Arab’ poll that aims to find out who the ‘Star of 2007’ is! 17,000 votes later, Lebanese star Nancy Ajram was given the title after receiving 31% of the votes. In second place came another Lebanese star Wael Kfoury, he missed first place by a mere 157 votes! In third place was Amr Diab who received 15% of the votes and in fourth place was Elissa, whose new album has just recently been released.
Season's Greetings from Ramy Ayach Fans

Our friends from Ramy Ayach Fans have sent us a cute Season's Holidays greetings!
It's such a sweet gesture to send us a personalized card just for us at WALEG.
We want to thank them very much and wish them all the very best of luck and joy for the New Year 2008.
We also would like to wish Ramy Ayach all the best as well ... Happy Holidays Ramy!
A New Shaaban Abdel Rahim after The Hajj

Egyptian singer Shaaban AbdelRahim has gone on a spiritual trip this year ... he and his wife have gone to The Hajj and have come back to Egypt to changed people.
The new Shaaban AbdelRahim has decided to quit singing ... at least the singing he usually does.
After listening to a few religious lessons during the holy Hajj, he decided to change the type of songs he performs and start singing religious hymns only. But he is also considering the option of stopping singing all in all!
AbdelRahim and his wife told Saudi newspaper ‘Al Madina’ that their Hajj experience was a fantastic one.
Do you think Shaabulla should retire? Or should he just change to religious songs?
Julia Boutros: Politics or Music?

Julia Boutros is undoubtedly a talented artist but she has chosen to hardly ever appear on TV and when she does she appears through political shows. She claims that this is because she wants to epitomize the fusion between politics and music and she wants to show that just because you are a singer does not make you politically retarded. In another example of her attempt to portray her interest in politics she will be appearing on ‘El Esboo Fe Sa’aa’ and will be sitting in the hot seat where many well known politicians once sat before her.
Fawaz is the New Starac 5 Student From Kuwait
As promised, here is another photo of an almost accepted student in LBC Star Academy 5. This is Fawaz from Kuwait.
Again, we promise more photos to come.
Facebook: Friend or Foe?!
Many of us have become well ‘addicted’ to network sharing websites like Facebook, MySpace and Bebo but now questions have emerged about the harmful aspects of these websites. Just recently a study conducted in a school in Bahrain has shown that teenagers between the ages of 14-18 spend up to 3 hours a day on networking websites!! That is a whopping 1/8 of our day updating profiles, changing display pictures and commenting on our friends blogs. But aside from this networking websites are being used for truly malicious purposes- many teenagers have been bullied and harassed through their blogs and ‘I hate so and so’ groups.
World Bellydance Championship - Prime 6

The 6th prime of World Bellydance Championship was about modern bellydancing. The remaining dancers chose their uniform, chose the song to dance to and tried their best to give a performance that was a mixture of traditional dancing and modern dancing, which was not a bad idea at all.
But it seems for most of the girls, it was difficult to blend those two types of dancing together, so their performances were not to the liking of the judges.
The best two performances were from Moroccan Fadwa and Lebanese Estelle .. they got the highest marks from the judges.
As for the other girls ... their dancing varied from mediocre to bad!
Tunisian Girls of Star Academy 5!?
These are photos of 3 Tunisian girls who made it to the final casting of LBC Star Academy 5 in Beirut. One or two of these girls might make it to the first prime 3 weeks from now.
We wish them all the best of luck.
From left to right: Intisar, Aya and Amal.
We will be revealing more photos and names very soon.
