Lebanese singer Walid Tawfik will be resuming his work after he canceled all his previous scheduled concerts and participation in several festivals in Lebanon and other Arab and European countries; his first stop will be in Libya where he will be holding a number of concerts in which its profits will be donated to the Lebanese people and for the reconstruction of the destroyed buildings and facilities …

Walid Tawfik will be also shooting a new video clip soon for his new song ‘Ya Arthe’ which he composed by himself and written by Nizar Francis.

Everyone misses star academy reality TV show and its students. Well, guess what I've got some names of the students that will be participating in LBC Star Academy 4:

1. Sefian 23 years old female from Morocco, she has a nice voice and she is good looking.
2. Khalid 22 years old from Egypt, his dad is Egyptian and his mum is American, he used to live in the USA most of his life.
3. Fady Neema 16 years old from Lebanon; Yes, he is Maya's brother and he looks like her!
4. Tareq 23 years old from Syria but lives in Kuwait. He is Shayma’s friend if you remember him.

A furor occurred in the last few days over a Melbourne Muslim girl entering a teenage beauty pageant. Ayten Ahmet, 16 of Turkish origins, was chosen to place in the final 26 of miss teen Australia after beating hundreds of teenage hopefuls defying Victoria’s senior Muslims.

A spokesman for Melbourne cleric sheikh Mohammad Omran condemned the girl’s entry and the competition labeling it a “slur on Islam". The interesting thing is that the same controversy did not surround the crowning of Sabrina Houssami, a Muslim girl of Lebanese and Indian origins, to represent Australia in the next miss world pageant taking place soon.

Egyptian Noble Literature prize winner Najib Mahfouz has died today at the age of 94 in Cairo, after suffering from ulcer bleeding.
Mahfouz will always be alive in our hearts & minds with his unforgettable writings & novels.
Najib Mahfouz was born in Gamaliya, Cairo & that provided the backdrop for his writings.
Before turning to the novel, Mahfouz wrote articles and short stories.
Some of his most famous writings are The Madaq Alley -Zuqaq Al Madaq- & The Cairo Trilogy -Al thulathia- : Bayn Al Qasrayn, Qasr Al Shoq & Sukkarya
He has made Arabs proud in 1988 by being the first Arab writer to be awarded a Noble prize.
May God rest his soul.

Lebanese-American Actor Tony Shalhoub who is the star and executive producer of the USA Network television comedy series Monk won another Emmy award this year during the 58th annual Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles yesterday for his work on Monk in which he plays an obsessive compulsive detective who is often called on by the San Francisco Police Department to solve crimes no one else can.

• Haifa Wehbe will be holding a concert today in Carthage in Tunisia with the participation of Lebanese singer Fares Karam. On the other hand, famous Tunisian singer Saber Al Rubai will be holding again another concert in Carthage next Wednesday.

• Two new video clips of Lebanese singer Darine Hadchiti will be aired soon on different satellite music channels like Mazzika and Melody Hits. Darine’s new video clips were recorded in Australia with the management of an international big team.

• Egyptian singer actress & belly dancer Dina is suffering from a disease and refused to say any statement to the press about this matter… Dina will be staying in hospital for a long time.

• Prominent Algerian singer Warda returned to acting after a long time through a new series that will be aired soon on Ramadan.

• After ‘Altajreba Aldenmarkiya’ and ‘ Tamn Dasta Achrar’, Lebanese singer Nicole Saba will be having a new role in a new Egyptian film called ‘Layali’.

• Jordan Short Film Festival starts today and it will be holding an international competition in addition to the Jordanian film competition.

• If you missed watching the historical Arabic series 'Muluk Al Tawaef' that was aired on MBC 1 on last Ramadan, you can watch it now again on MBC 1 ... You really shouldn't miss it, it's one of the best series.
