Hussein Fahmi Resigns as UN Goodwill Ambassador

Hussein Fahmi

Prominent Egyptian actor Hussein Fahmi has announced yesterday that he doesn’t want to be UN Goodwill Ambassador anymore because of the poor position of the United Nations towards what’s going on in Lebanon. Hussein Fahmi said that he can’t continue to be a UN Goodwill Ambassador while the UN can’t take a firm stand towards the unjustified massacre of Qana and the bombardment of the Hospital of Alkhayam which naturally hosts only injured and sick people. He also criticized Russia, France and the Governments of the Arab World who are only onlookers to what’s going on in Lebanon.

He added: “Thanks to our weak governments we are out of History! What did we achieve with Cinema, culture and Technology? We lost all our power, especially the weapon of oil which has become under American domination.”

Three Days Mourning

WALEG.com extends its condolences to the families of the victims of Qana Massacre and the families of all the people who were killed in Lebanon in the past 19 days, and the least we can do to express our grief is to announce 3 days mourning on WALEG.com.

We will be updating the site as usual but all pictures will be in black and white.

Qana II: Israel’s 2006 Massacre

Qana 2006 Massacre

After Sabra & Chatila in 82, and Qana massacre in 96, over 55 innocent Lebanese civilians were killed last night in a new massacre as a result of the savage Israeli attacks which destroyed a three-storey building, which was sheltering several families most of them children, in the southern Lebanese town of Qana. Some of these families had fled the Israeli bombardment of the Lebanese coastal town of Tyre.

At least 30 children are believed to be among those killed in this new Israeli massacre and 3 people only were pulled alive by aid workers from the Lebanese Red Cross …

Israel's slaughtering of civilians during the terrible 19-day offensive has been so careless, so ferocious, that not a decent human in the world should stand still or silent. No decent human should forget this or forgive this.

The Sabra & Chatila massacre of Palestinians by Israel's militia allies in 1982 doomed Israel's 1982 invasion. Now the Israelis are stained again for the second time by the new bloodbath at Qana.

Israel is raising hate among every single house in the Arab world against them, and surely beyond the Arab world.

Ironically, Prime Minister Ihud Ulmert has said that Israel isn’t in a hurry for a seize fire & would continue the bombardments!
