Google has launched a new service called Google Talk, which allows users to make free telephone calls to anywhere in the world via the internet. That would mean overseas and long-distance calls could be free soon, provided you have an internet connection!

Google Talk enables you to call or send instant messages to your friends for free anytime, anywhere in the world.

Iraqi Version of Pop Idol

Despite collapsing public services and the constant threat of death, more than 2,000 young Iraqis signed up for a new talent show called 'Iraq Star’ was announced by Al-Sumeria TV.

Iraq Star is like ‘American Idol’, a version of the original British ‘Pop Idol’ franchise, and also Lebanese copy 'Arab Superstar’ that its 3rd season will start in few weeks.

Several satellite TV channels like Rotana, Melody Hits, LBC and others added TV SMS messages on music video clips, reality TV programs and other programs where viewers send text messages to the station's SMS number and in few seconds the sms messages appear on the TV screen...

The owners of these channels are making lots of money through TV SMS messages that are being sent by thousands of viewers everyday which are expensive, annoying and useless…

Why spent 3 times the money to see the message on TV while you can easy send it directly to the other person’s mobile number!? What do think of TV SMS messages?

Ayman Al Atar, Bahebak

Libyan Super Star Ayman Al Atar has begun his professional singing career with an exclusive video clip to his first song 'Bahebak' from his first album.
The clip can be viewed nowadays on the Lebanese Channel 'Future', and will then be viewed on the famous music channel 'Melody Hits'.
He will be launching his new album on the 25th of August, and for the occasion will hold a few parties in Lebanon, Egypt and Qatar among other Arab countries.

Haifa Wins an Oscar!

A few days ago Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe won an Oscar for Best Video Clip for her 'Badi 3ish' song.
The song was awarded an Oscar for being the best video clip for the year 2005 in a ceremony held in Mina House Cairo, Egypt.
The song was written and composed by Elias Rahbani, and was directed by Saied Al Marouk.

Technology Invasion On Our Culture

Melody, Mazzika, Gzira, El hora, Iqraa, El mehwar, Rotana…, a very big variety of satellite channels surrounding us every where we go.
Some of them are destroying all our morals, oriental customs and culture. Others are contributing in increasing people's knowledge and awareness toward what goes around them in the world.
That's why some people suggest protecting our houses, ourselves and our children from the satellites invasion, while others see that T.V culture became an indispensable part of our life that helps us to always be up to date.

Are we (as Arabs) a nation that has that much NO CONTROL on itself, that we avoid ourselves from technology because we can't change the TV channel if it's Hayfaa or Nagla who's singing??? (I mean dancing!)

Famous Egyptian actor Hussein Fahmi has nominated Nancy for a new movie of his, where she would play the character of a singer who falls in love with the director of her video clips, but it doesn’t stop there, there has to be some complication for the movie to be interesting; this director is married and has a little kid!
The movie will contain 4 songs, and if Nancy accepts the role, she will be the one to sing them...
