I was wondering if she had to gain weight for her role in this series?! Anyway, I think talking about someone's weight is such a supericial subject that we reserve no right to even talk about in the first place. There might've been a big cause that led to it, and we just wouldn't understand that. I still think she's pretty and she's a talented actress.

It's true, she's gained a lot of weight because of medication she's been taking for a disease she's got. She can't help but gain this weight! She can manage to drop a few pounds when she stops medication.

I think that this is the difference between Arab stars and global stars. As superficial as it sounds, beauty sells! And to think that the Arab world isn't aware would be a lie. Lebanon is the number one destination for Arab stars to fix their flaws. Yet sometimes the end result isn't as great as Hollywood starlets. Not to say that everyone in Hollywood is good looking but most Arab stars can't complete with Hollywood stars. Diet and exercise are not the top things that people in the Arab world do they go straight to surgery, if they exercised as much as other people then they wouldn't all look a like. With matching nose jobs and tattooed eyebrows. I am a proud Arab women but I see why Hollywood dominates the global movie market. Somaya El Khashab, poor thing, has no chance competing with someone like Demi Moore, who might be the same age.

I think it's plastic surgery. Let me remind you that she's not the first Arab woman seen with an abnormal,bloated face like this. Haifa had one and waleg even did a story on it. Nancy Ajram has a bloated face even after surgery! Is that beautiful to people? I think plastic surgery is a real problem in the middle east even if people don't want to admit it. There's so much bragging down about the beauty of Arab women by Arabs, but all people see is plastic faces. I agree with the comment above. They like to go to the easiest fix and that is plastic surgery. They go to plastic surgeons and say I want to look like Haifa.And it's not just Hollywood, no one out there gets as much plastic surgery as Arab celebrities. Tattooed,star trek eyebrows is something I never understood.Why would anyone want that? Are they lazy and don't like to maintain their real eyebrows?
Kono weight is a superficial subject? So is getting plastic surgery, but that doesn't stop people like the Lebanese.

People forgot what is real beauty. When I say I dont find Haifa or Nancy beautiful, all my friends(female) attack me telling me that they are the most beautiful.

Maybe I'm alone but she doesn't look like she's had surgery. Haifa & Nancy have what is referred to as 'pillow-face' i.e. the body is the same but the cheeks are permanently swollen. And it's mainly volume around the cheekbones. Somaya has put on a lot of weight face, neck & body. She has got no cheek definition, & has a lot of weight below her chin. The only fake thing she has are those stupid eyebrow tattoos. She looked better before because she was slimmer before. To be fair Egyptians don't undergo plastic surgery like Lebanese, Syrians & women from the gulf, so I don't think we should put all Arab women in the same box. There's only a handful of Egy that I can think of who might've had something. But Somaya has nothing except the eyebrows & a few extra kg of fat. But yes Hollywood surgery is & has always been superior. But that only means that more Hollywood women lie about it i.e. Halle Berry, Salma Hayek (nose & boobs), Kim biggest liar Karadshian everything, Nikki Minaj everything, Beyonce nose & top lip...etc.

I don't think all Hollywood celebs lie about it.With Hollywood celebs they know not to do too much. For example Jen Anniston only did her nose because that was the only problem she had instead of doing everything. For stupid women like Haifa there is no such thing as too much so they get everything done and end up looking plastic and artificial. Haifa got another nose job after the first one. Why? It's like she's doing it just because she can and that's not smart. Ofcourse there are stupid people in Hollywood too like Heidi Montag who got 10 procedures done in one day. But the difference between Hollywood and the Arab world is that Heidi was criticized for getting that much work done & she is a big fat joke, but in the Arab world women like that are encouraged. Haifa is put on a pedestal for her plastic looks.

But she was fatso before !! C'mon Waleg i can't see the difference between "before" when she was already fatso and "now" that she is obese. :)
