Tamer Hosny, Amr Diab Try to Ride The Wave!

By H.A.R. on Feb 28, 2011

Tamer Hosny Amr Diab

Where were Tamer Hosny and Amr Diab when the youth of Egypt where fighting for their freedom on the streets of Cairo on January 25th?
We saw Hamada Hilal in Tahrir Square from the beginning and he was the first to release a song about the revolution and all the young Egyptians who gave their life in return for the change that has happened. Thank you Hamada.
But where were Tamer and Diab? There were no where near Tahrir!

Tamer Hosny showed up in Tahrir Square nearly 10 days after the 25th ... too late!
He wasn't received with warm arms and was kicked out of all the gatherings ... so it(s natural that now when he tries to ride the wave and sing a song about the revolution that it doesn't receive acceptance! No thanx Tamer! You don't get to sing a song about the revolution when you didn't participate in it!

Oh! and Diab! He chose to ignore the whole revolution and stay away ... so now when he comes out to sing about it and about how the Egyptians had their say, it too doesn't receive acceptance!
Yes ya Amr, you don't get to sing about the revolution when you weren't even in the country and decided to stay silent about it! No thanx!

Regarding Tamer... The people of Egypt doesnt like him anymore because of what he did. Not that he came to the Tahrir, but that he on the 29:th of January had a party with Haifa Wehbe in Holland. That was it for the egyptian and it was really rude thing to do.

And Amr.. He didnt leave the country as the rumours says. This has been denied several times. What has been said, is that he has been in his home watching the news and looking at whats happening in the country like him, and like other normal citizens. What Amrs problem is, that he was the one that sang in Gamal Mubaraks wedding.. So for me it would feel really really strange and stupid to suddenly stand and shout for Mubarak to leave.

    Regards

they both are traitors and dont care of their people, i feel so bad about who use to be fan of them. they both think themselves cause they have money and dont give a fly about the Egyptian at al or their lifel.
maybe tamer and amr should be taking care of monkeys and tigers in the zoo instead being singers

DEMOCRACY----------> DOES THAT MEAN dear friends, that everyone can express his/her own option WITHOUT being blame for it, WHATEVER that should be, there is NO PRESURE ANYMORE, not even from the Media (..)

soooooooo let it be how this men want to live their life, how they plan their future, with or without espec. songs concerned the past weeks, none of you does know, may be they will do something but on time...... but even if not, it will be their decision, there is NOW AS YOU CLAIM A DEMOCRACY, so boycott someone or call him as traitor just one doesn´t share the same option than you has NOTHING (..) to do with democracy on the contrary, it takes one back to the old times, where one determined what someone had to say, to be tolerated

as you are free (or feel yourself free) to express your own option about your ideals, as well they can do as same as you do it, however it should be and if you like it or not, because that calls DEMOCRACY..

I think that Tamer Hosny & Amr Diab should be left alone. They both care about their country very much. When the time is right, they will make a song & stand up for the people of Egypt.

waleg this website has become so ridiculous! you don't bring real news and just lame made up news! Do you really have nothing to do but trash talk about this subject? is it any of your business? were you there? do you have a source claiming this is true?
Why aren't you posting stuff about libya? about people wanting to grant nobel prize to the egyptians after winning the peace?
Please get your minds together and bring news which is useful!

What nice words...you see thats the problem with us Arabs. We're sooo negative! We care about what famous people have done instead of the people WHO HAVE ACTUALLY DIED? Whats wrong with you people?!

*And to whoever wrote this article, instead of attacking Tamer and Amr or anyone else who have NOT DONE ANYTHING TO HARM PEOPLE, why don't you focus on the people who are responsible for all the corruption in the first place? What good are you doing by writing such a pointless article? Oh I'm sure everything would of been perfect if Tamer stood outside on the 25th..what difference does it make? Think again before you make such statements.

They can both have their own opinions. why do they have to go out and protest? not all of egypt did, so why did they have to? How many people live in egypt AND how many went out to protest? Everybody does what is best for them, thats life.
and of course the famous people who went out on the streets to protest KNEW that they would be more popular if they did. Its so obvious. Many people didn't like Mubarak but they didnt go out to protest, not everybody protested, not even 1/4 of the egyptians protested. Just because someone wasnt out protesting - doesnt mean they are bad.
GET OVER IT AND BE HAPPY FOR ONCE! WHY ARE U LOOKING FOR NEGATIVE THINGS. PATHETIC.

I'm glad waleg has bring this topic up. Yes Tamer was hanging out in Amsterdam. Sorry they don't care about them own people. It 's only to sell cd's to say they love Egypte. For AMR Diab I don't have to say much. He never made songs about the society or what's happening realy in Egypte. The artists of today only care about them sells and smooth music videos. The only view who are making music with a deep message are artists like: Marcel Khalife, Julia Boutros, Souad Massi, FAIROUZ, Tania Saleh, We need more artists like that who make our hear speak for the people who can't speak. I'm not a hater just telling my opinion thats all!

    Much salaam & respect.

it's really sad how the writers insert their own opinions into the articles that they write.. everybody knows how tamer is the people's man, he always sings for peace and for the egyptian people, it is nothing but ungratefulness and rudeness to say "where was he when the youth were fighting for their freedom???".. tamer is a treasure, and he, like 3amr diab makes egypt proud to have people like him.. i'm not even egyptian, but i'm so bloody proud that egypt has people like tamer and 3amr, and they make me proud (as a non-egyptian)..
waleg needs to limit the amount of dodgy articles that they've started posting.. no to crappy opinions, yes to real articles with worthy substance

WALEG how about you get your facts straight before you write stupid articles like these?? Tamer Hosny and Amr Diab are two geniuses when it comes to music. Just because they didn't go to the protests doesn't mean they don't like their country. If you know anything about tamer you would know about all the charity concerts he has made in Egypt and around the Arab word. you might say its for show but if you have a mind do you really think TAMER HOSNY needs anymore show or popularity??? Leave the people alone and look at yourself.

Ahmed my mate, i'm disappointed by your comment about these tamer and amr blokes er camps. Are you serious when you suggest "they should take care of monkeys and tigers in the zoo instead of being singers"?

Honestly, don't you think they need at least some courage to fulfill the tiger caring task ? Until now they have only shown us they are TEH perfect chicken coward wimps.

Their après-moi-le-déluge attitude is just disgusting. I hope the Egyptian and the whole arab fans of these craps have learnt the lesson.

    Thank you.
I, too, felt the same thing. Waleg now has become more subjective, posting personal opnions as general articles, or at least, that is what it seems to me.
Seriously though, while watching the revolution, was the main concern to watch Tamer Hosny and Amr Diab among other people?! They are Egyptians, and I highly doubt any artist to fake emotions for "popularity"- that's ridiculous, because loving your home is an innate thing. Plus, they are already popular. Amr Diab has been around for many years. Alnd many songs have been made for Egypt just for the past few weeks, you think they're all for popularity or a 'show-off'. Can't just something be accepted as it is without negativity?! Oh and just Amr Diab released his song a little later than the rest, it doesn't mean he was not in the revolution?! Remeber, he really didn't HAVE to do that- no one did.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't. If you didn't agree with the manner of protesting you are blacklisted and if you make a song, you're criticised.

Amr Diab may have not commented during the revolution - I have much more respect for him than certain 'actors' and 'new activists' who hijacked the protests to increase their own profiles and those who attended for their own agendas!

Well Tamer did go to the protest crying like a baby that he was tricked... after voicing his support for Mubarak. Haven't heard from Amr Diab but isn't he a friend to the Mubaraks? He sang wa7ed menena for Mubarak and attended Gamal's wedding.
