Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal Speaks!
What do you know about Saudi Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal ? That he’s a part of the royal family and he’s a businessman and investor? If that’s all you know about him, you’ve barely scratched the surface because he is more than that.
In an interview with Arabian Business, Prince Al-Waleed gave an in-depth view of what he’s all about and everything that he does.
There’s no doubt that the prince is an intelligent man and a shrewd, efficient, and hardworking businessman. One of the things he dislikes most is inefficiency. For sure all the people in his employ know that for a fact. If he doesn’t have the qualities mentioned, he won’t be able to turn his fortune around from being bankrupt to being a billionaire. At present, he has 95% ownership in the Kingdom Holding Company, which is the biggest foreign investor in the United States.
But Prince Alwaleed is not all about making profit for himself and his family. He is also involved in philanthropic efforts in Saudi Arabia and the world through the Al-Waleed Bin Talal Foundation. This Foundation has four aspects in focus: natural disaster relief, poverty alleviation, women empowerment, as well as building relations between East and West.
However, he makes sure that all the people he helps are really those in need. They carefully screen them to see if all their claims are true. Also in an aim to reduce poverty, the Prince is also planning to build 10,000 housing units through the Foundation.
He is also fighting to give women a better standing in the Arab community. He is doing that by example. He now has numerous females in his employ, a lot of them holding key positions in the Foundation and Palaces.
With all these things he has going, does he still have time for himself and his family? You decide, because he only sleeps 5 hours a day and work the rest of the time.
But throughout the interview, the thing that made a great impact was his statement, “I’d like to be remembered as a man who made a difference, who improved the lives of as many people as possible. You can build High rise buildings and schools and hospitals and that’s all fine, but at the end of the day, how much did you change the quality of people’s lives?”

This is good news he is helping. Does all his donated money goes to poor and needy one? Donating is not a big deal but utilizing in proper manner is the most important thing.

It is all very commandable; but, if he really wants to improve the status of women, how about working towards their right to vote ?!
