Lebanese Co-founder Of The Swatch Group dies at 82

June 28 2010, marked the death of co-founder, CEO and the chairman of the board of the swatch group Lebanese entrepreneur Nicolas Hayek. Nicolas, who was born to a Lebanese mother and a Lebanese-American father, met his Swiss wife Marianne in Beirut and has moved and lived in Switzerland ever since, they have two children.
Nicolas was a successful businessman who became well-known when he played a significant role in the recovery of the swatch group which caused the world known accomplishment of the Swiss watch industry.
Nicolas was rated 232nd richest man in the world. Right after his unexpected cardiac arrest at the Swatch headquarters in Biel which resulted to his death, his daughter Nayla who joined the swatch group in 1995, was elected to replaced him and became the chairman of the board of the Swatch group.
Nicolas was one of the most successful Lebanese men around the world and we wish that his soul will rest in peace.
