Last week, 8 girls took the stage to sing for their lives or careers, however you might consider it. Last week the girls did an excellent job. See, I can be positive when I see something I like!
The first performance wasn’t that interesting. Katie Stevens took the stage and sang “Break Away” by Kelly Clarkson. She broke my heart with it! Kara and Randy shared my sentiments by saying that Stevens doesn’t know herself as an artist yet and that the performance was like a karaoke.
Siobhan Magnus did an amazing job! She stole the audience’s attention by singing “House of Rising the Sun.” Simon, however, didn’t seem interested in her singing! But, you know how he is.
The lovely Lacey Brown sang “The Story” by Brandi Carlile and she nailed it! This was her best performance yet. I hope she keeps it up because she really deserves to stay.
After a great performance by Lacey, Kaitlyn Epperly took the stage and, I have to say she didn’t do so well. Kaitlyn sang “I Feel the Earth Move,” but sadly, she didn’t move anyone by that song. It was a bad choice! Simon said she sounded like a request night at a restaurant.
Didi Benami did a good job with the song “Rhiannon.” Her vocals were great and I think she would be safe for another week. I really hope she gets another chance next week to top this week’s performance. I see a great career for this girl.
I’m sorry to say Paige Miles did a terrible job with the song “Smile.” Although she has a nice voice, she failed to connect with the audience. Randy told her that the song was too big for her. Ellen said that it was supposed to be a happy song but she made it sound sad. The harshest was Kara saying it was all wrong. As defence, Paige said she got emotional because the song was recorded by Michael Jackson. Think the viewers will understand? Let’s see.
Crystal Bowerox’s performance was the highlight of the night! Simon even admitted on Jay Leno that Crystal was his favourite, but then again it’s America’s choice. Crystal sang “Give Me One Reason” by Tracy Chapman and played the electric guitar. Simon said that she was “the one everyone has to beat” and I agree with you Simon.
The last person to take the stage was no other that Lilly Scott who sang “I Fall to Pieces” by Patsy Cline. Lilly didn’t fall to pieces; she did a good job! This girl has great vocals, but Simon said that her offbeat approach could be risky when it comes to the viewer’s voting.
