Al-Madina FM "Best of 2009" Results
The Syrian private radio station Al-Madina FM announced the results of its 5th annual survey “The Best of 2009”. The survey was held by the radio program “Al-Madina Toghani” hosted by Basel Mehrez and it was open for the public from all over the world to vote through phone calls, sms or e-mail during December 2009. The results are:
Best Male Singer:
1st: George Wassof 44.7%
2nd: Wael Kfouri 16.9%
3rd: Wael Jassar 15.3%
4th: Amr Diab 14.8%
5th: Tamer Hosny 8.09%
Best Female Singer:
1st: Najwa Karam 31%
2nd: Rowaida Attia 22.5%
3rd: Nancy Ajram 16.1%
4th: Asala Nasri 15.1%
5th: Janat 8.8%
Best Promising Male Singer:
1st: Mohamad Bash 91.3%
2nd: Mohamed Majzoub 6.8%
3rd: Saad Ramadan 1.7%
Best Promising Female Singer:
1st: Shahd Barmada 90.6%
2nd: Eliane Mahfouz 5.4%
3rd: Shaimaa Hilali 3.9%

1st: Law Hobna Ghalta Wael Kfouri 10.9%
2nd: El-Sabr Tayeb George Wassof 10.3%

Congratulations to Mohamad Bash who got the highest percentage and the biggest number of votes all through the past five years which are the history of this survey according to the host of the radio program.

Tamer is #5 on this list but he is #1 on my list. I think his 2009 album was his best to date!

I think as in any survey , the results reflect the opinion of those who voted and who were following the program so this doesn't lessen the importance of other artists who didn't win . It just reflects the preferences of those who were listening to the program and who had the chance to vote or had the chance to know about the voting . this is a garbage decision! no haifa wehbe? psh even my baby brother knows her and loves her so much! one day i asked my heemar his favorite singer he said akid hayouf :)
