I have been reading the pages about the Algeria-Egypt matches for the past few days and I thought to myself how pathetic !!! Yet I decided to not comment as there was absolutely no point because it will only aggravate me more… I’m an Arab, it does not matter where exactly I come from, I live in South Africa where there’s a whole lot of different cultures and traditions including Israelis… This brings me to what really made me write this article.
Today I went out to buy lunch from a restaurant whose owner is Palestinian, waiting for my order I happened to overhear a conversation between 4 men whom I could see are Jewish by the little hats on their heads (I know, how ironic Jewish and eating at a Palestinian restaurant) they were full of giggles about the last match saying:
“HAHAHAHAHA DID YOU SEE THE CHAOS THE ARABS ARE MAKING, HOW STUPID ARE THEY, DID YOU SEE THE FIGHTS THEY’RE MAKING, THEY ARE SUCH LOOSERS, THEY WONT EVEN MAKE IT FAR IN THE FIFA NEXT YEAR, HOW FUNNY IS THAT GOING TO, NOW THAT’S WHEN WE WILL LAUGH… ”
I’m not going to carry on quoting their words because remembering their laughter about us makes me really upset. This is exactly what everyone is thinking of us right now, but what really got to me was that they were Jewish men talking about us in such a manner. We are letting them do that, our behaviour and our low acts!!! It’s embarrassing and humiliating, I was so wrong thinking that one day Arabs will make peace with each other, I’m starting to think that we will always be known for people who hate one another.
Shame on us for bringing our names down and making ourselves look like a bunch of haters! It would be a revolution the day we change ! I’m really frustrated and angry, I’m sure many of you share the same feeling with me, even football makes us get mad at each other to a limit that we start killing and causing death! One word to describe this : RIDICULOUS!
I just thought that maybe we could wake up from this nightmare , be friends and make peace! I do understand what has been happening is causing you people to act this way, but trust me we can start a new page…
What do you guys think ? Is it possible to stop hating on each other ?!

If u can actually know exactly what happened u wouldn't have felt that way and u would have known why the Egyptians are so pissed off, the last thing in our head was to think that Algeria which "was" our so-called brother country, was to think that they would actually terrorize our people in this way. It proved to us and to the world that they're nothin but Barbarians, me myself, I'm not into football or anything, but when I actually saw what happened over the TV and also read all that has been written on the Algerian newspaper, I could feel my blood boil, and all of this happened when Alegria actually won, so what could they have possibly done if Egypt had won? I'll tell u, with the kind of people that was sent over to Sudan and how they acted after the match, it wouldn't have been a surprise if the national team would have returned beheaded or slayed...I'm amazed shocked and angry.
Really angry that if I actually an Algerian, I don't know how I could hold my self from punching him or slapping him in the face, and as I was telling u it's not all because of a soccer game, it's because of our Dignity and our Honour that should always be high and never be degraded like it was last Wednesday!
Let's see where "Our Dignity and Our Honor" leads us....

I absolutely agree with you waleg it is extremely disappointing to see the conflicts between arabians, who are suppose to be brothers and sisters who share religions, land , history , traditions and culutures but the tinniest thing tend to cause a major arguments between arabs who are seperated by so called borders only.I think politics has a major influence on this type of argumments and hater between the populationx liek whats happening now about the footbal and what has happened regarding Palestine and Gaza.

What your people have done to us is beyond description. You killed people in sudan, and harmed Egyptians living in Algeria. You demolished everything Egyptian including the Egypt Air office. How are you gonna respond to that, and don't even think about denying it because all of that was captured on video. That was just a tiny bit of what those barbarians did. I'm not into soccer at all, and I couldn't careless who wins and who loses, but what the Algerians did after the game was just repulsive. They brutally beat innocent Egyptians who have done nothing to them. You guys please go on youtube and check out the videos there, there's a bunch of evidence to prove what the Algerians did. What happened in Sudan to Egyptians is a crime that has nothing to do with Soccer, or any sport.
We send in regular football fans, and they send criminals who bought all the knifes in Sudan, with the plan to harm Egyptians, no matter the result.
Does this have some type of political issue behind it? Most probably.
When other Arab's begin thinking about a Union of Arab countries, then I'll care. But what happened the past 48 hours, is unacceptable. And if it happened to anyone from any other country, you wouldn't accept it, especially when you believe those others are your "brothers".

Concerning the bus incident, IMO we were at fault and it was stupid to cover it up!!
However, in Sudan our players team bus was pelted TWICE by the Algerians and there is proof, i saw the it on TV and the players got off the bus and went to their respective rooms without shout and screaming!!
Now the throwing rocks had nothing to do wit our defeat...or mayb a little i cant speak for hooligans but the majority of it came from them burning our national jersey and having songs calling egypt harami...u can watch it online they r called jaw harami, ya harami, and yal masri!! and much moree...and Egyptians knew abt this...some hav responded as well...

1) Lets clean up this whole bus incident thing. It is impossible that every single window was broken by the rocks. You'd need at least 3 rocks to break part of one of them. Yes, there MIGHT have been a rock thrown from one Egyptian, but how did all the others get completely smashed? Here is where the Algerians come in, with videos and pictures to prove, that all the windows were broken from the INSIDE, and it was also confirmed by the police.
2) The FIFA has yet to file any sactions against Egypt. If also those windows were smashed by Egyptians, do you think FIFA would have held the game?
3) The Algerian revolution was supported 100% by Egypt and Nasser, Egyptians died, and made enemies such as France, and Italy due to their union with Algeria. Algeria was declared as an official state IN Egypt!
4) Back to the Gaza border that every person tends to bring up. How about, take a walk over, talk to your Hamas/Fatah friends, and ask them yourself how much help had been coming in and through to Palestine each day. No one has sacrificed as much for Palestine, EVER, in the Middle East. So don't bring your history lessons here, and study them before speaking.
5) It seems Soccer has been mixed with Politics, and Algeria sent thugs instead of specatators, and don't ever think that Egypt can not retaliate, and rememebr that Egypt was the first country to invest in Algeria at a time when terrorisom was at its highest level ever in Algeria. When bodies were cut up and thrown around the streets. Our companies set up, and helped your workforce, and bought you your first land and international telephone lines.
6) Algeria, to us at least, are not considered Arabs. What they have done to Egypt, its citizens, and even its flag is unacceptable. And what happened in Sudan is a crime, which Algeria will be punched upon, not only by FIFA, but Politically as well.
7) On an artisitc level, all ties have already been ended with Algeria. Algerian cinema was supposed to be upon the prized Worldwide cinema's in the Cairo Film Festival, and that was cancelled, along with all there films. Any award that was won at any Algerian festival, has been returned by all Egyptian, and many other Arab artists. All Egyptian, and many Arab singers have decided not to sing in Algeria again. And soon Inshallah, political sanctions will be taken. This will be started by the Algerian ambassador, whom we expect to go packing back to Algeria very soon Inshallah. Cause he will either leave that way, or he will get to fed up with all the protests that are taking place around him.
8) I ask anyone, how would you feel if what happened to Egypt happened to people in your country? If you sent celebrities with their children, parliment members, and the President's Sons, to be meet by Army Planes from Algeria, with people who arrived three days earlier and bought as many knifes as they could in Sudan? This was PLANNED...by who? HMMM
And all I can do is Thank God I'm Egyptian, ONLY. Nothing more. If you respect me, I'll respect You, bas 5alas. And don't bring your Palestine, Iraq, stuff here. Egypt comes first.

When I wrote this article I thought I was going somewhere; i.e maybe get some of u to make peace with one another, but like I said the day we stop pointing fingers at each other will be a revolution . Its really saddening what we have come to , SO MUCH HATE ! Im not Egyptian nor Algerian but as an Arab I'm starting to worry ! U see, I do understand the violence that has been taking place , I also do know each party is upset and can't help but write bad about the other,but my bottom line is why have they been doing this and why is it being encouraged? Its not Algeria its not Egypt, Its both of them. Doesnt matter who started it and whose ending it what matters is that they both contributed to the conflict,instead of calming down the situations they add more violence to it . Why do we get to a point where politics have to get involved ? To me it sounds like they taking some sort of revenge from eachother. People, we are Arabs we should be united, u know this is not only about Egypt and Algeria its about all Arabs. These 2 countries arent the starters of these conflicts , Arabs have always had issues. I read everyone's comment and I respect everyones opinion and points of views and stories. It was a football game that was turned into a battle where political issuses, race and history were used to increase hate and violence between Egyptians and Algerians but why? Egypt and Algeria are great countries but what happened is completely wrong and now our enemy Israel is having a good laugh about it. I'm very ashamed.

Yes, some ties should be cut with Algeria, because their government knew what was going to happen in Khartoum! EGYPT is more important (to me), than the old dream of a United Arab World...its a dream that will never come to reality, since at least three Arab countries are consistently plotting against the Egyptian authority, excluding Iran of course, who are not Arab.
What happened in Khartoum isn't a fight over a soccer game, it was a plan to massacre the Egyptians, no matter the score of the game!

i can't be certain of what happened exactly in cairo, algiers or khartum ...if it was true or wrong since the inquiries by the fifa are ongoing...it's wise to wait and see...
all i can say that the media from both sides have played with fire by giving false informations and accusations on the opponents...

The Sudanese confirmed that the Algerians WERE indeed buying many knifes in Sudan since there arrival, which was three days prior to that of the Egyptians.

I live in England, and we are shaming ourselves in front of the West. It would be fine if we were arguing about something extremely important like war for instance. But this is football :/ we really don't need our reputation to go down any further.
But saying, this, I don't really think that Egypt can do much to stop this. The Algerians in Sudans have really gone a bit mad about this whole thing, and they were the ones that won!
