Tunisian so-called singer Sandy has taken it upon herself to criticize Salma Hayek for her choice of wardrobe on the red carpet of The 33rd Cairo International Film Festival!
Sandy, who showed up in a revealing, Toga inspired dress, thinks Salma's simple dress makes a mockery of the festival!
Salma, who won a life achievement award during the opening night of the 33rd CIFF, showed up along side her husband in a simple and modest blue, green and black print wrap dress from Balenciaga.
What would have Sandy liked Salma to wear?
Maybe something that shows cleavage? A body-hugging dress with a slit revealing Salma's legs? Maybe something trashy that would be to Sandy's taste!
According to Salma, she chose to wear such a modest dress, although she's used to wearing revealing gowns in international festivals, out of respect to Egypt and the people attending the event.
So what if Salma usually wears revealing dresses? Do we bash her for opting for a modest look?
Personally, I think Salma wore a beautiful dress and such a big star doesn't need to resort to revealing dresses to catch the attention of the media in such an event.
Sandy on the other hand, might not have been noticed on the red carpet if she has put on something decent!

Why are you embarrassed? I'm tunisian too and I'm not embarrassed, she doesn't represent us, it says nothing about Tunisian women or even Tunisian female artists.
The fact that she's unknown to us, shows that the Tunisian media did not embrace her, so she's really not representative. Besides there are trashy people in every country, that doesn't take any bite from how great that country is.
