Beyonce Concert in Egypt, Good or Bad?

beyonce going to egypt

Bootylicious American singer Beyonce, is going to hold her first Middle East concert in Abu Dhabi today and next week she's jetting over to Egypt for a highly publicized concert in Port Ghalib on the Red Sea.
This concert has found both positive and negative feedback from the Egyptian laymen and even some legislators!

Some people feel it's immoral and lewd for Beyonce to hold a concert in Egypt because of the way she dresses and the way she dances and all what that insinuates!
Others feel that if it's OK for Haifa to hold a concert, then why not Beyonce?!

Back in 2007, Beyonce has planned to hold a huge concert in Malaysia and that was met with a lot of negative feedback and rejection, which led to the cancellation of the concert!
Will this happen once again?

What do you think?
Is it really worth making such a big deal out of a Beyonce concert in Egypt?
Are you with or against those who claim that such a concert is not much different than an orgy?!! (as some legislators out it)

The concert did not recieve any negative feedbacks..atleast not that i've heard off...on the contrary, everyone's very excited about the concert and like you said, it's highly publicized. Egypt's not that conseravtive and narrow minded..It's an open minded country with a diverse culture..it has it's conservativley religious people, and it's open minded people!

BEYONCE! I love herrr! She's incredibly talented unlike some whorish Egyptian/Leb singers so anyone who doesn't like her needs to just shut up seriously.
Beyonce puts on an amazing show and she's so beautiful.
I think a lot of Arab girls are jealous of beautiful American girls, it's just a fact.

    Beyonce's concert is a BAD idea ?!

Personally, I thought Beyonce coming to Egypt is great news, even though I won't be able to go to the concert. However, I really wanted to go and I think that her performances on her I am tour or the costumes/clothes she or her dancers wear, are like nothing compared to those we see on melody and all these music channels that show many video clips that are actually made intentionally to sexually arouse viewers and you tell me that BEYONCE, one of the greatest American artists coming to Egypt to perform LIVE is A BAD IDEA!

    really, shame on us.

WHAT'S this CONTRADICTION that's in our society ?

Beyonce has had a nose job & her top lip thinned down duhh, most American celebrities have had surgery...Jessice Simpson, Angelina, Megan Fox, Paris Hilton, Halle Berry, Salma Hayek, Rihanna, Scarlett Johansson...etc etc etc. Perhaps the plastic surgery in Hollywood in better but fake is fake!

What planet are you on? Does the word 'passport' mean anything to you? Being a supermodel is all about height & exposing your boobs & further, being a slave 2 food & homosexual fashion designers who see women as clothing hangers. So if you want that lifestyle...go be a size zero, or if u prefer to go 4 the obese look seeing as it's high trend in usa...then more power 2u.

I do actually happen 2 think that Arab singers & Western singers are as bad as each other, but because Beyonce gives off that strong voiced black independent woman vibe...people just are not as critical with her, but she wears the most skimpiest outfits leaving nothing 2 imagination. My jaw dropped when I read that Michelle Obama called Beyonce an 'inspiration'. When Britney's private parts were exposed, it was a field day for the press. When Beyonces private parts were exposed, it went virtually unnoticed. The media makes a frenzy out of whoever it wants to either hype up or bully & bring down. Having said that, all these women are indecent...but sex sells. And behind every one of those young female singers is usually a fat or pushy man making a tonne of money; aka Beyonces dad. Arab dads on the other hand are not perfect but most of them protect their daughters.

And yes I know Rihanna & Salma are not Americans ok but they still adhere to that culture.

Forgot to mention...Weave. I don't mind that Bey wears fake hair. But I am just showing you how permanently & not necessarily naturally groomed they always are. That is real hair that she always wears shaved off from girls in poor parts of India as well as other oblivious communities I would assume. Celebs wear extensions without thinking about the person behind the hair.

I don't see how it could be bad?

First of all, everyone knows about this concert and is looking forward to it.

Not one place in Egypt doesn't have an AD somewhere about the concert.

Every Arabian TV channel is broadcasting the AD.

People from other Arab countries are coming to watch the concert.

The concert will be held in Port Ghalib, a resort city close to Hurghada. And the ticket prices are quite pricy.

But again concerts in Port Ghalib usually take nomore than 15,000 fans, unless they plan for a bigger concert. But I saw the planned out map for the concert, and I think they are going with the same usual space, but a much bigger stage.
I think the number is better, cause concerts that go in the 50,000+, usually end in disasters in Egypt and most countries.

wow lulu wrong again the arab guys leave the countries due to the no jobs or oppurtinies in life becasue of the poor country. though i know you are obvilsiously the one sitting with a mustache due to the fact you sit on waleg all day and all night meaning you have no life. also i am sure you take karate lessons you probably look like a dude. nothing new ugly girl just trying to stick up for her ugly self in this world when you really have no one in this world who probably loves you. also if you do not like arab girls please do not come on a arab website that talks about the arab countries when you are really a hater of the arab world please go find another website to talk about people on. thank you

    Sam,
You are well entitled to your opinion but I dissagree with your comments. I personally don't see your comment as logical, on the contrary I consider your comment as overgeneralizing and judgemental. The way you worded your comments about supermodels is why you are overgeneralizing. I'm sure you're quite aware that not all fashion designers are homosexual and if they were, what's wrong with that? It seems as if you implied that it would be a bad thing. Also, even though the fashion industry does have that stigma that fashion models starve themselves and/or anorexic, there are other models who are naturally skinny and healthy in the industry. And no, not all models go around showing their breasts. The clothes that they are paid to wear just happen to be revealing enough that they basically have no choice unless they don't get the gig. Nudity isn't really a big deal in modeling industry, I'm assuming we are both refering to high fashion models?
Another thing that made this comment judgement is your comment about being obese in America. That's another judgement call as you and I both know that the obesity rate may be high here but not everyone is hobbling along with a weight of 300 to 400 pounds.
Also, this is just my opinion but the reason Britney spears got so much backlash for her revealing clothing is because she began to "expose herself" at a very young age. She posed for rolling stone with just a bra and panties on at 17. This was huge considering she wasn't of the legal age yet. Beyonce doesn't get as much criticism not because she's black but because she can sing AND dance. And from what I've seen her clothes are not nearly as revealing as Britney so there is no comparison between the two.
Lastly, you made yet another stereotype of American dads and Arab dads. So if I read correctly, you think just because Beyonce's dad is not protecting his daughter and thrusting her into the spotlight, that means that all american dads behave this way am i right? And that at least Arab dads protect thier daughters? This makes no sense. You can't say 'most arab dads' Sam because you don't know all Arab dads to make this assessment, not unless you personally know at least half the arabs in the region which I'm assuming you don't. You can't make the assumption about American dads either based on ONE dad who is in the music industry. How do you know that American dads don't protect their daughters? I know my dad does and the rest of the dads I know. How do you know 'most arab dads' protect their daughters? No one knows including you. Lebanese singer Dana's dad is her manager is he not? And he lets her prance around in skimpy clothing and he's an Arab dad. See how generalizations don't apply to everyone?

I love Beyonce and i think its great that she came to Egypt to perform. I didnt get to go, but i heard the concert went really well and that she was great. It just gets me really mad when extreme Muslims have to make a big deal out of her clothing. ALOT of arab singers wear skimpy outfits so its not like its the first time they've ever seen someone wear such clothing. Dont get me wrong, im a also a Muslim and i love my religion. But if you're going to sit there and criticize her, then dont freaking watch the concert! i just thought it was annoying how they made a big deal out of what she wore when women singers from the middle east wear just as skimpy clothing. take haifa wehbe for example: shes one of the biggest whores of the middle east (in my opinion) yet no one made her concerts a problem. well anyways, i just hope those people didnt make her not want to come back.
