Hanan Turk is Mother Teresa!

hanan turk and mother teresa

Although Hanan Turk was supposed to be retired and free for religious activities, she has decided to take on the silver screen, yet again!
This time Hanan has taken the task of portraying Mother Teresa in a movie that tells the story of her life, her sacrifices and her dedication to the poor, the needy and the unfortunate.

Hanan also linked Mother Teresa to the character of 'Um Joseph' in Bab El Hara 4.
Both women are strong, dedicated and compassionate.

Hanan starred in a series this past Ramadan, 'Hanem Bint Basha', for which she was criticized!

omg shes not a fanatic...shes a moderate muslim who has shown so much strength
people THINK and LABEL her a fanatic because she retired from acting and started to wear a hijab...personal choices which no one has the right to judge her for.
if only more actresses could go against the grain and reject the mold the media/music and tv industry has set...
i just hope she portays mother theresa well, its a hard job but definitely something exciting and worth producing!

ummm.... Thats pretty dang messed up. She does NOT need to be portraying mother teresa. Who does she think she is? Her beliefs obviously do not coincide with mother teresa, ahh... makes me so mad. I have lost all respect for her after she became veiled. How does she expect us to forget all her past roles, and believe her sudden EXTREME religious views? People are not stupid! or at least I am not. I dont buy that crap.

actually most muslims who live like westerns cry by night time because they are programed to believe that they should live a boring life, so they feel guilty when they live a normal life. I would say it's okay for her to play this character since a christian syrian actor played an islamic leader before.

she has the right to wear the veil if she wants...This should not prevent her from living her life or to work normally...why you don't respect her choice to live her muslim faith freely?... Your narrow-mindedness and your Intolerence scare me dear manman...you're even a very dangerous person for the human family...i'm a catholic christian and I live in a country where Muslim women are often stigmatized , rejected from schools and public places for a so-called secularity...your reaction as my country's are liberty killer!!!...here, that's how does one fetter freedom?

For your education i offer you this:

"Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen"
Article IV - Liberty consists of doing anything which does not harm others: thus, the exercise of the natural rights of each man has only those borders which assure other members of the society the enjoyment of these same rights. These borders can be determined only by the law.

Alain NRM. I respect your opinion though your langauge was a little hard for me to understand. I don't think she should be veiled muslim woman and be able to act freel, because in doing so she is indirectly imposing her religious beliefs on people. When I look at her, I dont see a free form of art, all I see is veiled woman who is trying to impose her beliefs on me. Second of all, she should leave mother teresa alone. Most of the time, when muslims try to depic chrisitian religious characters, they are ignorant and unaware of the depth of the religion and end up hurting it more than adding anything to it. I am not intolerant or narrow-minded, whatsoever, I only use my god-given ability to think and reason. He sudden change of heart is unplausible, I don't believe that all her past seductive roles are now erased because she has chosen to wear the veil. And though I respect her right in doing so, I believe she sould fully retire, because I feel like the media and middle-eastern cutlure in general is taking a step back by letting velied women act. How can you portary free art that is unbiased and not leaning towards a certain religion, with the veil on? Are you trying to tell me that muslim women go to bed with their husbands with their veil on? I think its stupid and ignorant. I believe art should be free of religion. If thats who she wants to be, then great for her, but dont try to shove it in my face. Please, I understand human rights fully, and do not need more education on it. And I also have the right to express my opinion freely, as long as I am not harming anyone.

of course I respect your opinion...but the mean things you said " I have lost all respect for her after she became veiled." made my blood boil ...You have the right to freely express your opinion but hating or disrespecting someone for no reason ?!!...come on dude...this is simply called: discrimination... wait, this woman is in the East and discriminated against for wearing veil ...which is upside down...omg i'm going mad!!!

don't give up my friend...many in Europe are going crazy when they see a veiled Muslim woman...and here is their "explanation" for this rejection
-"Women don't choose to be veiled, hidden , buried"
-"they are forced by men in their family,
    husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin"...

and since they think it happens like that, they legislate ...they force women to remove their veil by strengthening more and more the laws in order to "protect women from men authoritarianism" ...

no one is fooled, there are certainly women who are forced to wear the veil but not all veiled women...

we are witnessing an unprecedented frenzy, especially in my country...it becomes an obsession...
We have a minister who talks about this topic every week...she speaks to ban the wearing of the "burqa"?!!!...what saddens me the most, this minister is from algerian origin...too bad...

Alain, I think Elena is mad cause I always talk about them, the girls.

You know Alain, I like when the girls get sensitive and angry at me, I just don’t know why?
though I hate when they put me in the locker for three hours, I couldn’t see anything, glad I got something with me to open the locker. but when they ignore me, I get sad, I just go and shrink myself inch by inch.

I know am painful guy but what can I do

what I said about tolerance is of course valid for all religions...I'm far from having a selective approach...i'm afraid dude that you didn't understand what's on my mind...I speak of normal, moderate muslims ... they are the majority...
why are you speaking about fanatics and extremists?...why when you talk about Islam you are always looking to insult and badmouth those who practice Islam...there are extremists and fanatics in all religions...I don't defend the fanatics...
I defend the freedom of everyone ... the woman who wants to wear the veil is a free human being , i'm proud to be opposed to my country's secularity fanatics ...if you are an atheist, be reassured i do respect your non-faith as well...

@ ahmed. Your point in disproving what I said, did nothing but strengthen my point. Why should women hide heir femininity and their beauty under the veil of religion? We only hide bad things, but why can't they embrace their god-given beauty? Why do men have to take everything in a sexual manner? Why shouldnt they be taught to control their sexual desires instead of hiding up women? How is it fair for women to cover up their identity and their freedom so as to protect the animalistic desires of men in the middle east? Why can't the men learn to look at women for who they are and not their hair and their bodies? Your whole idea of saving herself to her man, degrades the woman into a thing that needs to be protected rather than a living. logical being. I think if women are required to cover up then men should too so they dont turn the women on also. Thats what logic says.

Manman are you blind or what, habibi, mother teresa is fully veiled in that photo, perhaps even more so then some of the so called muhajababes these days. You are nothing but a blind bigot. Oh how a picture speaks a thousand words. Mate every point you tried to make has effectively been NULLIFIED. Btw this woman is an actor, the concept of an actor is to portray different people, ideals, scenarios etc, or don't tell me that also had problems with Robyn Williams playing a woman in mrs doubtfire.
Just one last thing is whatever this woman wears or what that sexy hottie in the mini skirt wears you, me, them will all end up being food for the worms nothing more, nothing less, so if you are true believer have some humanity and get off your pedestal b4 u embarrass yourself any further.
