Last night, the last step was taken towards the coronation of American Idol 8 by the two idol finalists, Adam Lambert and Kris Allen.
Both contenders performed three songs, one of their favorites from the season, a producer's pick and the "Idol" coronation song.
Adam Lambert 'sang his face off' and performed Tears for Fears' "Mad World" and Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come".
As for Kris Allen, he gave it his all and performed Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine" and Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On".
The two also sang the "Idol" coronation song, "No Boundaries" which is co-written by judge Kara DioGuardi.
Tonight's finale and humongous coronation event, will see performances from The Black Eyed Peas, Queen Latifah, Keith Urban, Lionel Richie, Carlos Santana, Cyndi Lauper and last year's Idol, David Cook.
It's a showdown and it's a close call between Lambert and Allen.
But I have a gut feeling that says that Adam Lambert will take home the title!

Since the beginning, I hoped that Adam and Danny would end up in the finals. After Danny left, I was almost sure that Adam would win.
As I read somewhere else, Americans really proved tonight that they're homophobic.
In programs like this one, people should take into consideration the level of talent the candidate; nothing less or more.
