104-Year-Old Ivy Bean is the Oldest Twitterer

Ivy Bean Oldest Twitterer

Whoever said that the elderly cannot catch up with today’s modern technology? I guess people who say that it’s too late for them to learn how to go about the Internet are just making excuses. Age is not a limitation for anyone who really wants to learn the ways of the Internet. Testament to that fact is Ivy Bean, who at the age of 104 is at this time is the oldest twitterer! Imagine that!

Ivy Bean is a Brit who lives in a care home in Bradford. Before joining Twitter, Mrs. Bean was already in Facebook, after joining the networking site last year at age 103. But since she got bored with that, she’s on to a new thing, Twitter. She had a bit of help from IT experts The Geek Squad as she made the transition from Facebook to Twitter.

During her first day with Twitter, Mrs. Bean had already made 9 tweets. Two of these were “Looking forward to Deal or No Deal later on today” and “I’m enjoying Twitter for the first time and having my photo taken.” Mrs. Bean’s enthusiasm about Twitter and other online interests is contagious. The residents at the care home where she’s staying are now getting caught up in the Internet hype.

Right now Mrs. Bean already has 12,500 followers on Twitter. Not bad, considering she’s only been on board a few days.

Age is just a number. Looks like I'm going to join Twitter, it looks fun.
