This week on American Idol 8, the contestants had to sing a song from 'the year they were born' ... that makes the range about 10 years starting from 1982 to 1993.
The youngest of the contestants is 16-year-old Allison Iraheta, while the oldest is 28-year-old Danny Gokey.
The choice of songs on Tuesday night, was very interesting. They were as follows:
- Anoop: "Caught Up" by Usher.
- Megan: "“Turn Your Lights Down Low" by Bob Marley/Lauryn Hill.
- Danny: "What Hurts the Most" by Rascal Flatts.
- Allison: "Don't Speak" by No Doubt.
- Scott: "I Love you Just the Way You Are" by Billy Joel.
- Matt: "You Found Me" by The Fray.
- Lil: "I Surrender" by Celine Dion.
- Adam: "Play That Funky Music" by Wild Cherry.
- Kris: "Ain't no Sunshine" by Bill Withers.
The bottom three were Megan, Allison and Anoop!
But the most unlucky idol-wanna-be was Megan Joy ... who failed to impress the judges as well as the audience and ended up with the least votes on Wednesday night.
She packs her bags and leaves the Top 8 behind, competing for the title of Idol 2009!
The most unforgettable moment of the night was the way Megan bid the whole thing good bye; she had a strange expression on her face and started flapping her arms as if they were wings and even started cawing!
Farewell Megan Joy!
