I was wondering how the concert held in the Cairo Opera House featuring Melissa and Akon was. I did a bit of searching on the net and came across an article that stated that the concert was 'Disastrous'!
Melissa & Akon Concert, a Disaster!
Simply put, the disaster happened way before the concert even started!
Strangely enough, the whole stage collapsed and injured about 20 spectators!
Later in the night, a part of the stage in the back collapsed as well!
After the concert was over, at around 1.30 in the morning, spectators and fans huddled around Akon and got a tad bit too close, which made his bodyguards attack the fans with electric batons, which injured the fans.
Funny enough, Melissa's reps sent out a press release describing the event as a night to remember and a huge success!
It's true that the attendance was huge -15.000 people- but when the stage collapses and people get injured, that's far from being a success.
Both Melissa and Akon will continue their tour and will make stops in Dubai and Bahrain soon.

omg...i had a feeling tht was gna happen.... u dnt make the ticket for only 150 and not expect half of egypt to show up...

one other thing....how on earth does the stage at "CAIRO OPERA HOUSE" collapse?!?!?!?!?!? isnt tht place supposed to be like famous for hosting most important concerts???
hw the heel can we expect artists to show up at our door if all we can offer them are collapsing stages??!?!?!

150 egyptian pounds which is like 25 dollars or sth....but th was the least priced tickets
im nt sure but htey had tickets tht went up to 1000 egyptian punds...which is abt 150 dollars....thts the VIP ticket...

In my opinion , I see the concert as a success. I don't know why but the collapsing of the stage proves it was a success !! My friends were there and they had the VIP tickets and they told me although the stage collapsed , they had a lot of fun and that the concert was amazing ! 15000 people is a success !!
I was there .. from the minute the concert started ! the concert was a huge success, i enjoyed it and all the people who i know that went enjoyed it as well. It wasnt a disaster ... at all! Please double check your information beforfe posting it!
