After the devastating bushfire in Australia, people need something to cheer them up; maybe that is why the pictures and story of the rescued koala “Sam” immediately caught the heartstrings of people all over the world. Sam was rescued by firefighter Dave Tree in a burned out forest at Mirboo North, a place Southeast of Melbourne. Well, the story doesn’t end there.
Koalas Share Love After Bushfire
Here’s a bit of news to tug at your heart; after being rescued, Sam was put in a wildlife shelter. And it was there that she met Bob. Bob was also saved by wildlife workers, two days before Sam. The two koalas became friends right away.
They just seem to take a great liking to each other immediately. They were pictured sharing a hug. According to the shelter attendants, Bob just keep on putting his arms around her. Maybe they also know the great tragedy they both went through and they are also trying to comfort each other. Sam suffered second degree burns to her paws, which will take about 8 months to heal, and Bob has three burned paws with third degree burns.
Their picture just makes the heart melt with tenderness, doesn’t it? Two koalas sharing love in time of hurt. If only people are like that, maybe the world will be a better place.
