The latest Egyptian movie to make a huge buzz is 'Dr. Silicon'.
It stars Lebanese singer Marwa and a bunch of well known Egyptian actors like Hasan Husni and Mimi Jamal for example.
The movie is about the standards of beauty and the wave of plastic surgery that's over-taken a lot of singers and actresses.
It seems a couple of names have been mentioned in the movie and those names are threatening to sue who ever is responsible!
Rumor has it, Nancy Ajram is one of those names and she's not very happy that she's been given as an example of plastic surgery beauty!
hahahha this is funny...marwa should be number 2 on that list. haifa wehbe number 1 then marwa. atleaset nancy looks beautiful compared to marwa..marwa ba3d kil 2ili 3emlato and she still looks ugly
Give me a break faroo7a!! Nancy has like over 100 plastic surgery, she looks so different than her original look 10 years ago!
the first useful thing marwa does, although i hate her.
and if nancy wasn't so ashamed, she shouldn't sue.
we all know that her "good looks" are fake, so why be mad?:P
GO MARWA
Haifa is deff not number 1 from all these lebanese stars..like faraoo7a said.. when you look at her she just isn't that "fake looking". nancy has deff gotten so much of that plastic surgery! but w/e shes still a great artist! and thats all that matters
Nancy cant sue, its not like its not true.
its a fact.
if youre not ashamed to get it done, then you shouldnt be ashamed to admit you got it done.
lets be real!!!
what is this movie talking about?
plzzz can someone answer me
the truth hurts, boohoo its not like this movie is going 2 be a major expose, maybe nancy in her own little bubble thinks that people think she was born with michael jacksons nose hehe
Tell me who of all these celebrities from any actor to program leaders have not done surgery oprationer.
I am actually not against plastic surgery just not to many as many celebrities have done.
If you are not satisfied or have complex with any of your appearance, I do not think it is wrong to carry out the complex and do a plastic surgery, but Í'm altogether opposed to Those who change their appearance so they resemble someone else !
But then, it is also a moral question, I mean Nancy has done a lot of plastic surgeries but she is still a really good person and an amazing singer :)
come on, lebanese singers aren't the only ones that have plastic surgeries look at the egyptions stars and before and after pictures... not just stars but normal people from Dubai and Kwaite and saudi it's not shameful it's the new thing..
Lebanongirl,
It is not the fact that other Stars such as Egyptians or even Syrians did not have plastic surgery, sure they have and in great numbers, it is about girls wanting to look like Haifa and Nancy... It is a shame to want to change your own natural look in order to want to look like someone who is actually man-made like Nancy and the others that look like they could fit in a wax musuem....
but atleast Haifa and nacy look pretty not like the girl next to nancy and some others from saudi its scary soo right lebanongirl
I don't find nancy beautiful either with or without the plastic work,, we only like her because she's a little better than the other lebanese singers (who barly sing actually). I don't know why all the leb singers are doing an unchangable set of plastic surgeries, although lebanese girls are pretty (or atleats not that ugly)..
silvana and phil, plzz be realistic and stop generalizing, we all know that the lebanese singers are fond of fake beauty, they have done a lot more plastic surgeries than artists from any other country. almost every lebanese singer/actor/show host had atleast one plastic surgery, that is if we ignore the silicone and lips' enhancement. the nose job is at the top of the list..
Sorry I meant "lebanongirl" not silvana
I think not only lebanese stars have work done, but most arab women do, for some sick reason they all like to look like drag queens and it gives the natural looking lebanese girls bad ideas. Nancy and others think they look good but really they look horrific, its embarrising.
You call that beauty? they look like freaks with tons of makeup
okay, for me it's not about what they looked like and what they look now, because they are beautiful no matter whate and make up these days covers the face beyond recognition.. it's about what they do and how they illustrate thier fame and fortune.. the best examples i can give you is nancy and haifa.. what they did giving to charities, particpating in cancer concerts and giving money for a cure.. at the end their legacy if they live as long as fariouz and sabah or other great singers have will be about their doings and not their beauty..
and by the way phil lebanon is not the #1 country fond of fake beauty as you call it, look at the US, most eauropean countries, and even Iran where women have done the most plastic surgries becuase they think it makes them look more beautifully atractive..
The problem with Lebanon and I guess other countries where plastic surgery is popular is the ease by which you can actually undergo an operation.
There are actually places that would loan you money, and on top of that you have the affordability (in Lebanon a nosejob costs about five times less than it would in Australia) and the lack of ethics by plastic surgeons; In a lot of countries where the doctor sees you as very young or not in need, you would be referred to a psychologist, but not in the ME.
Add to that, the fact of it being quite acceptable now to have surgery. When something is no longer frowned upon, it does make it more appealing. Women do like to follow other women and outdo them, it is now more of a fashion trend and is being flaunted rather than hidden like it was in the past. It is a sad fact and not only in Lebanon that people always seem to look at what others have; This is quite prevalent in the ME where your worth is valued by your belongings and your looks rather than your personality.
In the Arab entertainment industry and precisely the Lebanese, it is now a refreshing sight to see someone who is actually natural looking. I kind of stop and take a good look at their faces because I believe it will not be too long before they decide to undergo a 'facechange' unfortunately!!
Actually I gotta go on the defensive & clarify that it's not common 4 egyptians 2 do plastic surgery and it's actually very very very rare. So it's unfair to even mention egyptians alongside plastic surgery. The odd celeb has had it done though but they usually do things like face lifts (4 the older generation of actors) or nose jobs: Libliba, Safa2 abo so3ood, Donya samir Ghanim...And that's how rare it actually is.
I really don't appreciate how plastic surgery seems to create lies, distortions, misinformation & accusations...these attitudes are worse than any procedure of plastic surgery.
Ok Sam I should have clarified then and say that i was mostly talking about Lebanese celebs, followed by Syrians and entertainers from the Gulf ;)
As well as I meant it being acceptable in Lebanon to have surgery, and as far as I hear in the Gulf and Iran. However in places such as Syria it is reserved for the rich, famous and vain :)
I would not have a clue about Tunisia, Morrocca... However I stick to my point that people are valued according to their assets and looks.
hehe no I didn't mean u ya bett, u know how much I love u. I was referring 2 miss motormouth ily fo2 de.
You can find some basic info in that nation master site, not very accurate I would think but still. The only thing I know about the physicality of Morocs & Algis is that they are the most athletic arabs.
There was an entire documentary on Al jazeera about Iranians having plastic surgery khasatan on the nose. I was like yasalam stray away from the Arab procedures why don't u al jaz! Mind u, was still interetsing!
they both look like trannies.
I kind of realised after I posted my comment lol... To tell you the truth I completely forgot the content of her comments and ignored the ones following. However I never pass on your comments :)...
I figured your second comment was not meant for me, because the admiration is mutual :P
I was reading after the 2006 July war about the brain drain in Lebanon as a result, and that even a lot of plastic surgeons kind of moved to the Gulf, I was like that's not a bad thing ;)... I wonder if the credit crunch would send them back hehe....
Iranians are like the Lebanese known for their prominent noses, so yeah the nose job would be quite popular.
well i mean come on, what does nancy and the rest of the living wax figures think? they are gonna go from butt ugly to gorgeous (in a fake non existent look kind of way) in a years time just by a miracle?
like nobody is going to notice?
they made laughs out of themself now they have to deal with it.
to "tania"
i didnt mean nancy didnt have work done..we all know that im just saying compared to marwa she looks a whole lot better. she actually looks real...marwas oozes fake.
