A couple of years back, I criticized Aziz Abdo for his music video and that bathroom scene, you remember, right?
Well, it wouldn't be fair if I didn't criticize Joe Ashkar and his latest music video! I know it's a few months old, but better late than never!
Joe's video to his song 'rjaatella' is different but there's a scene that I think was too much!

In the story of the music video, Joe and his sweetheart get ready for a wedding celebration in the countryside.
First of all, if real peasants see the way their girls and women are portrayed and dressed, they'd get furious!
Second of all, the scene I thought was extra and could have been easily done without was when both Joe and his sweetheart are given baths in the middle of nature by their friends and the girl bares her back totally and let me tell you, it's a good thing she didn't bare her bottom too!
Oh! I can't leave out the 'rollin' in the hay' part?! You do know what 'rollin' in the hay' means, right? Which, in my opinion, is so inappropriate!
You must have seen the clip, do you share my point of view or am I alone on this one?

Over to my opinion abt the video.. Actually I have no idea about what to say about the video .. The song isn't that bad, nor the video eaither .. BUT, what's the deal with takin a shower in the clip? I mean okey, everybody does shower, but why doin it while playin a videoclip? Whats the meanin with that? Okey we do understand that she is clean... haha, no I'm kiddin' .. But Its like you can allmost see her boobs ..
I know, there are many people now readin my coment and thinkin that I'm a jerk because I'm comenting something like that, like you dont really see her boobs, but allmost .. Sure you might think that I'm "old fashion", but according to me, everything starts with a step .. I mean, so much nudity on today's middle eastern tv's, so what would happen tomorrow? Today they are lyin there without any tops, would they have sex tomorrow? Sure, you might think that I'm overreacting..
It's just that, I dont like these "wannabe-american" videos.. I mean, whats wrong by doin it on the old way? An innocent-love videoclip? Where the lovers are holdin hands and those stuff? Whats the deal with a videoclip? Let me tell you guys, by doin a videoclip, you want to let people hear your latest songs, right? So why hal maskhara with those videos? Can't we hear their voices if they are wearin clothes n without these haraket l tefha?
Anyway, I know that I'm doin a big deal of this, but thats my opinion, and you dont have to agree ..
this video clip is a bit too exaggarated , thats not what arabs do , although from before him Aziz Abdo got nearly naked in the video clip , what about Jad Shweiry's kiss , by the way do you remeber Maria's milky bath tub , and Haifa's cupof champaigne ( lets not talk about sluts....) those trashy singers and crappy directors should remember their own arab culture , and particularly tthis video clip should be banned from TV .

I was like...were they sending any liberal message through this video clip...
But as a whole...the video clip did not bother me because it was still a beautiful piece of art...

I think the worst think about this video is that it's added these *extra* shots where it's ALMOST nudity not out of any artistic vision, but just for the shock value of it! And it's working, as otherwise there wouldn't be nearly so much hype about the song or video, but this way everyone will talk everyone will want to see what the talks about, and the song will get that much more exposure.
Think of it, would this article have been written if it weren't for those scenes?
well, i think that the video clip is done in a very good way... dont exagerate by saying that the video clip is disgusting, and blablabla... Look what is happening in our pubs...

what is the arab world coming too? Obviously not all arab are like this but comeon... have some respect for the viewers, what if kids stumble upon this on t.v.? It's not an issue of being "too" conservative Krystle, it's about ahterom(respect) that our culture represents as a whole.
