Asala: Pompous?!

Syrian singer Asala

It is extremely common for TV presenters to ask ‘seasoned’ singers what they think of the potential and voices of others who are currently trying to make it in the world of Arab music! So it was no surprise when Nishan as part of the show ‘Taratata’ asked singer Asala this very question, her answer however surprised many!

She simply said that the best voice on the scene right no belongs to her! She then went on to say that this was not arrogance on her part; instead it was mere confidence in her vocal ability! Sorry to break it to you Asala but there is a fine line between arrogance and confidence, and being one who has stepped over this line many a time, that statement was extremely pompous!

Don’t get me wrong perhaps her voice is not only one of the best but the best voice on the scene right now but that is for us (the fans), the critics and fellow musicians to declare! Not Asala herself! As for whether or not Asala will be supporting her sister’s entrance into the world of music her answer was far from supportive. She said that she wished her sister (Amani) would have never made the decision to be a singer and that she would not be supporting her in any way!

some of her first newly released songs were not bad however Asala needs to stop giving any interview because any interview shows how shallow and stupid she can be when talking about anything or giving an opinion!!

she is full of herself, but at least she can back it up unlike some others.
i see nothing wrong in her being honest about her voice and what she thinks of it.
if thats her opinion, then thats her opinion.

truthfully, i dont see whats wrong with asala's statement. at least she is honest and YES, she is the best voice by far in the musical scene. no other singer can match asala's voice and vocal abilities no matter how good they are. asala is very simple and honest, she is not fake like other singers who wait for compliments that they do not deserve.

I agree with Asala. She does have the best voice now. Her voice is amazing. But i do think she has strong competitors such as Najwa Karam and Ruwaida Attieh!

Asala is so selfish and has a very antipathic personnality, so it doesn't suprise me that she would say this kind of thing. She may has a great voice, and I'm a fan of it, but listening what she says during interwiew about her is boshit. It's not about what she thinks but what people will think anyway.

I agree, that's so uncool. If you know you have a great voice, there really is no need to tell everyone on national television. Your confidence should show in the songs and albums you shell out to the public. This is why I wish celebs would just shut up and do their jobs.

Asala may have a great voice but she must realize that nobody likes to listen to an arrogant singer.
