As inflation continues to grow in Zimbabwe, so does cash shortage. In an attempt to alleviate this shortage, the central bank of Zimbabwe will launch a 100 trillion Zimbabwe dollar bank note! But, don’t get overexcited, when converted to US dollar, this 100 trillion note is only equivalent to $33! And aside from the 100 trillion note, the bank is also planning to present trillion-dollar value of 10 20, and 50.
Here’s a statement from the Central Bank quoted by the Herald newspaper. “In a move meant to ensure that the public has access to their money from banks, the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has introduced a new family of banknotes which will gradually come into circulation, starting with the Z$10 trillion.”
Inflation continues to skyrocket that the Zimbabwe notes are almost worthless. Food and fuel are in short supply as well. Prices of commodities are doubling up every day. Right now the standard of living is more expensive than those in its neighboring countries. Zimbabwe had once been very prosperous but now, almost 80 percent of the people are already in the poverty level.
Wonder when Egypt will issue a thousand or a hundred thousand note! our money dont get anything nowadays thanks to our great successful economic plans
Once a prosperous country and called the Bread Basket of Southern Africa is now in shambles..Thanks to damn Robert Mugabe... FYI 1 USD was equal to 35 Zimbabwean Dollars in 1998 and now the space is not enough for Zeros...
