The current situation in Gaza is horrifying. And it needs to end quickly which is very obvious. But to all the people that are protesting for the cease-fire, have you ever though about what is going to happen after that is achieved. Is Gaza going to go back to its normal state before this "war". What the Palestinian people need is a peace treaty.
Israel is not going away, so lets work on accepting this current situation, because no other way is going to work. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about ending this Israeli offensive, because that is the main priority. But instead of just protesting for the cease-fire, let's protest for a Peace plan as well. And the only peace-plan that would work would be consisting of two states, one Israeli, and one Palestinian, with rigid borders.
When that happens the Israelis have no excuse to stay in the West Bank or Gaza, and the international community and the United Nations will recognize Palestine and will support it. In my opinion, that is the only way to go in this crisis. What do you think?

In fact, I agree with the author. I would make peace until I build myself stronger and get back what they took from me. Right now the only thing that's going to happen is massacres like this. What's happening to me is someone took my home and build it very very very strong with the support of the whole world and what I did is stayed next to him and start throwing rocks on him that do not do anything but annoy him and this is the kind of response that I get.
Fighting does not happen only with strength and physical confrontations, Ghandi kicked the British out of India without violence. So I think the best thing for palestanians now is to MOMENTARELY (don't get me wrong either, I wouldn't rest in peace until I get back my home) accept the peace treaty and build myself and accumulate world supporters then strike back stronger than ever.

Who talked about forgiving? I'm not Palestanian and I don't think I will ever forgive Israel for what it did today, yesterday and 50 years ago. The peace that I was talking about is only a strategic move in order to build a strong state that can fight and get back all the land that Israel stolen years ago.
I don't know that's my idea about what should happen, I don't know how else Palestanians can get justice.
Please suggest another way! Do you want this genocide to continue! Would you rather see innocent children dieing to achieve this vendetta! Open your eyes and accept this until you can come up with a better plan, becaues Israel is not going anywhere!! Fight till the last breath.. about the women and children and elderly people, you want them to die just like that, and you see that Palestinian blood is not cheap. Right now, there is no other way, because remember, Palestine is not even a recognized state, and has no military or any re-inforcements. We saw what the "amazing arab" leaders did! Please don't misunderstand me, but you have to know the history behind this all. I'm 100% pro-Palestinian. The Jews used to live on this land a long time ago, until the Romans kicked them out, and that's how they scattered to all corners of the globe. Then the Palestinian country was made, and it was under the Ottoman Empire, after World War I, it became an English palatinite, and after World War II, the British gave this land to the Jewish (which is totally wrong). But what shall we do. WE HAVE TO COMPROMISE, something both sides are not good at. You have to look at whats in front of you, how in the world is Palestine going to re-occuppy it's stolen territories? Israel is extremely powerful and has one of the strongest military's in the world, along with their inhumane way. If you still want to fight is way, then Israel will have a better excuse to go in and destroy Palestine as an act of "self defence". Try to be moderates and understand the politics behind this.. the Jews think this is their "rightful claim" which is wrong, because all three religions have claims on the holy land. What I'm saying is the establishment of a Palestinian state will ensure it's support and it will get the recognition of the International community,, then they could make a military, since it's a free state,, and people can live in peace of mind. But some people want to fight till the last breath, of every woman, child, elderly person and man, who just want to live a peacefull life. And if everyone thinks like that, there will be no Palestinian people! COMPROMISE is the key! They'll solve the border problem..

I agree with you in the point of making peace. I think peace would mean:
*The Gaza strip under Palestinian control
*The WHOLE West Bank under Palestinian control
*Jerusalem must be a international zone, for both of them to live.
*The Borders between all countries must be opened, and Palestine MUST life like any other country in the world

Jews were living with Muslims and Christians way before the WW II, they were as Palestinians as any Muslims or Christians Palestinian... exactly like the Egyptian Jews who lived in Egypt, Iraqi Jews in Iraq, Jews in Morocco, Tunisia ... etc ...
Then with the help of the British, and the weakness of the Ottoman Empire and the deal with the first Saudi king... Jews from all over the world started to flow to Palestinian to prepare the occupation of Palestine and the creation of an illegitimate country now called Israel...
If what did Israel and still doing in Palestine is right, then lots of people in European countries and across the world should establish their own countries and claim because once they lived there before 7000 years!

To Shaza, you can't stand what we're saying but you can stand what's happening right now. Without a Palestinian state, the lands are going to be under Israeli occupation, meaning that these offensives aren't going to stop out of nowhere, and if this one is over, there might be a lot on the way. Give me a realistic way to make peace, and kick out the Israelis, like you want.
