In spite of the tragic events in Gaza and despite the cancellation of most New Year's eve bashes across the Arab world, some stars thought it would be a better idea to go on with their concerts and sing the night away, ushering in 2009 with music and dancing!
Tamer Hosni was one of those who opted to go ahead and perform.
Tamer held a bash, that went on until the wee hours of the morning, at the Semiramis hotel in Cairo.
That same night, in City Stars, Assi Hilani, Dina Hayek and Jannat partied 2008 away!!
Tamer Hosni and Others Hold New Year's Eve Parties!
In Dubai, despite the news of canceling all concerts and parties, Amr Diab and Amal Hijazi went on with their concert as planned and entertained the attendees, ushering them into 2009 with their most famous and popular songs.
If you're wondering why there aren't any photos from Diab's and Hillani's concerts and other unrevealed ones, that's because there was heavy security that banned the use of cameras. Those celebrities wouldn't want to be seen partying as their fellow Palestinians are being slaughtered, now would they?!

what do you expect from tamer, he is the symbol of trashy today's teens ... why would he care!!!
All concerts that where not sponosred by the government where cancelled in all Arab countries. Others that took place in hotels still continued all around the Middle East. Even if some of these singers wanted to cancel their concerts, the hotel would only care about the $$$$$ and tell them they can't cancel.
That was the situation in ALL Arab countries.
As for Amr Diab, he has given his full wage from the concert to the people of Gaza through the Egyptian Red Crescent. So that was around 5 million pounds. Then Rotana decided to do the same too. There are various pictures all around the internet of Amr Diabs concert.
As for the other singers, I'm not too sure about them, and their wages.
Please, bring out all the facts when you post an article. Thank you. And Happy New Year :)
Sorry I meant to say that all parties sponsored by the Arab governments where cancelled. Those that were not sponosred by the government took place in all countries in the Middle East.
MASRI,
