If you want to know the real reason why mona left its mentioned in al jaras magazine of last friday , about a scandal she was involved in that caused them to ask her to leave , but they didnt mention it on air because zaza was also involved in it too! ! !

Please can you tell us why or a little more?

In the final show they made everything to pretend that it was Mona's decision to withdraw. That she suddenly lacked confidence or backed down.
I have seen some videos of hers on youtube and she can do much much better indeed.
Her full name is Mona Dolores Ghazi and she is half Hungarian. She is a professional dancer/fashion designer. She even give dance courses and organize dance shows.
By the way any additionnal information about her or her carreer are welcome since i have really liked her and her moves on the show and i think i am not alone.

It also seemed strange to me that everyone except Mr Simon Asmar praised Magalie as being the best. Really strange. Personnaly she has never been my favourite and it seems to me that she too uses a lot the same steps. Yet stranger is the hatered Nadra Assaf has for Eleonore.
I really appreciated Mr Asmar's attitude on the final.

I have to say i did not really enjoy the last episode. No real suspense and Marianna and Eleanore seemed more sympathetic to me than Magalie who suddenly appeared like a spoiled child with all this praise.

Also I tend to find that 8 episodes is a little long as the finalists have often used the same movements which irritated me and made the show a little dull sometimes.

I loved Mona A LOT. And Eleanore. Magalie too :)
Throughout the whole season Mona and Eleanore were competing for my 1st place, and I must say after the finale I felt a bit sad for Eleanore.
She and Magalie are very different, both have their unique features the other one does not have.

With Mona s departure, Eleanore was the most complete dancer, the one who can do every move and is very original.
In the solos I prefer magalie, she made me laugh and cry with her heartfelt energy.
she has the HEART of a great dancer, while in the solo Eleanore was not showing as much emotion.

With the duets it gets tricky.
Eleanore won them to me.
In this last chance, she put her heart into her perfect movements, and it was fantastic.
Magalie and Marianna were GREAT too, both of them gave their best performances so far.
Marianna, congratulations, she has not lived in an oriental culture and is SUCH a great oriental dancer.

Magalie has not had as much dance training as Mona, Eleanore, Marianna - she has improved IMMENSELY throughout the season. As I said her heart and passion make a great great dancer and she ll have all the time in the world to learn the dance in technique as well as Elenore has.

Eleanore - I think she was punished for her Saidi drama, whcih was VERY wrong. She should not have done that, I think it cost her the victory. A lesson learned I guess.
She s the strongest dancer after Mona left, and I do not understand the hatred of Nadra Assaf, she even compared her to a horse after her AMAZING modern performance. SO unfair.

I have a hard time deciding who is my winner, Magalie and Eleanore to me on different grounds.

I think with a tiny advantage Eleanore, because she s the most complete dancer. But all my sympathy is with Magalie, I think she ll be the next great Lebanese dance star if she keeps working, and continues to dance from her heart even as she learns perfect technique.

I liked the show a lot.
I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE MORE EPISODES. It is necessary to see how the dancers evolve. How they can change and do variations. And how their nerves break down like with Eleanore and Mona.

I love this show.
I WANT MORE SEASONS :)))))

as for the show its good the brazilian didnt win she is tooo slow!

i love the other 3

- eleanor is a harcore dancerrr but i thnk its too much sometimes she exagurate her moves which might be gooood most of the time but at some points more
- magalie is very pretty she is very lebanese and a good dancer 2
- mona for me was the best dancer however her look was not very apealing to me

ya I agree I was very much a fan of Mona throughout the whole season. But in episode 8 she was very different, and not so good.

I like Marianna a lot too. Ya she dances more slowly, but also very fast sometimes like on the African drums and on Ah ya leil as her solo performance finale she was veeery energetic!

All the 3 in the finale are fantastic dancers I think.
I hope Magalie has the chance to do many performances.
I hope Eleanore does not give up because she was stellar in the duets.
I hope Marianna will be on youtube when she performs in Brazil :) And I hope to see more of Mona on youtube too!

Nadra should be disqualified to be a judge..Any judge who makes a face when a girl is dancing is not deserving of the job...She even said loudly in 1 rehearsal : that she hates Eleanore..her mother told the girl, that's why she stopeed dancing
Najwa Fouad recognized her professional performance, all of the sudden she chose Magalie.That was very unfair..we have no more respect for those pre fabricated shows that were supposed to be live

moi I know the show was filmed months ago. I contacted Maya when the show started, that was early October. She was back in Europe already and the show was decided, but luckily she said she would not tell the results :).

Also last year:
Leyla s homepage said she would be in Lebanon shooting Hizzi ya nawaem from something like early Sept to mid October.(This is credible because also Maira said it sometimes was 2 primes per week that were being filmed), so when the show started to air also last year everything was decided already! Show over.

SO THIS IS NO CONSPIRACY:
Please do not start spreading rumours like this, it is NATURAL the families knew the results months ago because the show was filmed probably late August/Sept if it started in early October on TV!

I understand there are rumours regarding Mona and her departure, but what you say is not wrongdoing at all, but normal TV business. Please do not spread something it is corruption that Magalie won, because based on what you say (Eleanore s Mum told one month ago) it is not a conspiracy at all.
Everybody knew back then, Maya, Mona, Magalie, Eleanore, all their families..

With Nadra hating Eleanore and that being unfair you are RIGHT. I completely agree.
Nadra FROM THE BEGINNING showed her great personal dislike of Eleanore even though it was EVIDENT Eleanore and Mona throughout the whole show proved to be the most complete dancers with best technique.
And that Eleanore probably is a better dancer than last year s Estelle already (more expression and heart if she manages to bring her feelings in - like she did on the modern prime, and in the finale duets).
PLEASE if you have any chance to let Eleanore or her mother know - please tell her to check youtube so many ppl say Eleanore should have won. I just do not want her to give up, she s an amazing dancer!

And throughout the whole season I personally did get very very mad at Miss Nadira Assaf because for some reason she chose to hate the girl who was clearly among the 3 most talented ones.
And last year Nadra was full of praise for the Lebanese girls being the best, whereas Rana was doing the same movements on every song, incl the duet with Estelle, and was VERY stiff, and Estelle showed very little emotion whil dancing?
It is really unfair of Nadra Assaf, I cannot respect her as a judge. Especially now knowing the reason Eleanore stopped the Saidi dance.
Maybe she saw Nadra making a face at her?
I actually find it understandable - sure it s not professional, but these girls are only beginning, and making a mean face while somone is dancing IS very distracting and unfair.
And her faces at other girls (Mostly foreigners) I did not appreciate either, and her mean laughter before making comments...
She s really a biased person I think. very unfair.

Mona and Eleanore were the best dancers. Since Mona left, Eleanore should have won she was the strongest dancer. when they danced side by side you could tell it was very obvious they weren't as good as her. voting should be only based on who was the best, not who they liked more.

very unfair. i felt bad for Eleanore.

Nadra was irritating throughout the whole show.

I read an artical that Marianna said they spent 45 days together in July in a resort in lebanon and wasnt allowed to speak to anyone outside the show. there were guards everywhere and they had class twice a day.

the show was indeed a great one, i personally learned so much. Yes, there were many bias moments and lots of prejudice. I think belly dancing is an art and that people use their body movements to express themselves, therefore all the dancers did great. I wanted to ask anyone, maybe Magalie would know, how would you apply for the next season? Is there an application online or a number to call?? I hope someone would be able to get some info, greatly appreciated and goodluck to all the dancers and may they pursue their goals in life.

I found the judge called Nadra Assaf to be mean-spirited, unnecessarily cruel and incapable of consistent professionalism.

She either praised one contestant too much despite uneven performance, or broke someone down for no reason.

She's probably channeling Simon Cowell but she ought to know that you can be a tough judge without seeming like a hideous, evil teenager. She has little credibility in my book.

I agree with Tania & Nora.
I felt that the final results were so unfair and biased. It seems that the judges didn't want Eleanor to win for personal reasons. I agree that she has an attitude but to be fair and square she is the most original and creative. I used to look forward to what she was going to present. Mona was there too and I thought it was going to bottle down to a close competition between the 2. I watched the final with a big group of people and every single person was shocked. To add to it they gave Eleanor the lowest points. THAT WAS REALLY TOO MUCH. She outshined them all.
This opinion comes from a person who couldn't stand Mona's or Eleanor's personality but what is fair is fair.

I'm a huge fan of the show and i've watched each episode a minimum of 4-5 times. I also am a dancer and thus i have a good idea of what I'm saying.
In the first season, Nadra Assaf was my favorite judge as she used to judge extremely fairly and she was always right at the spot. But in the second season i think she hit menopause or something.
I like how Magalie made such a great advancement in such a little time. I know she has been dancing for a very long time. You can also tell she's a dancer by her movement and timing. However, as the show ended Magalie still wasn't an Oriental dancer, she was only on her way. I think her best performance was in the modern episode where she danced to "Ya Msahhar Einy". The reason this was her best performance is because she only made 4 oriental moves and all the rest was freestyle. She's good in the sense that she varies her moves, has a very good timing (although she doesn't take risks), puts a good lovely energy, and is pretty as hell.
Now back to Nadra what i wanted to say is although she knows Magalie from before the show and is probably sympathetic towards her. And although Magalie maybe deserved to win in the end. Nadra shouldn't have taken sides from the beginning. I am a big fan of Eleanore's dancing. I agree with Nadra that Eleanore doesn't finess her moves perfectly (in the first 2 episodes) however no she doesnt jump like a horse. I also agree that Eleanore didn't advance much and she used to repeat SOME moves. However, Eleanore already came in as a good dancer, there is not enough room for advancement when one is already very good. On the other hand, Magalie was basically walking/modelling in the first show. Again i respect Magalie's advancement, but I mean Eleanore was already way ahead of her. I loved when Eleanore danced to Korbak Nar (Modern). That was one of the best oriental performances I've seen. I also liked her in Saidi (before she stopped:P)
Also, in the solos with the Tableh. I think eleanore beat everybody. Magalie was in beat most of the time, but please what she's doing is not oriental and not a show, it's more like an exercise at home.

I agree with much of what you say!
Especially Eleanore (and Mona I personally add) having come in as VERY strong dancers. It is hard to keep topping your very high level.

And yes I also thought Nadra was better last season! Menopause - youre funny :) it s mean but there again she was REALLY mean and unfair this season.

I really like Magalie s style and believe she can learn the oriental movements, but her natural talent is worth a lot.

As I said often, Eleanore was the most complete dancer, the "perfect package" on stage, and I felt sorry for her losing this much.

One thing: Do you know for sure Magalie knows Nadra?? If it s just speculation that s a bit unfair towards Magalie!

dina, I'm really glad that you agree with me. firstly, i'm a ballroom dancer. this style requires a lot of technique. i know it's different from ballet and oriental since the balance and body weight is handled differently, however when u learn any technique, u can understand the rest more or less, not to mention understanding rhythm, melody, and beat.
about magalie knowing nadra, well i assure u that it;s not speculation, i know that magalie took classes with nadra assaf in her school. however, i dont know details and won't share them on the internet even if i did, because i respect magalie so much and i dont want to suggest in any way that she won because of that. because she didn't and it's her progress and beautiful energy that made her win.
i agree with you that magalie is a natural talent. i'm sure she has a very long beautiful path ahead of her, after all she's only 19..2 years from now after extensive practice, she'll be 21..that is still young!!
by the way, i heard that eleanore did a performance on new year's eve in some hotel or something in lebanon. I'm very glad that her career kicked off!

And I m so glad for Eleanore and hope someone will put performances of hers on youtube coz I have no tv.

I know what you mean with ballroom, I took normal classes (I dont know if it s like that in Lebanon too - in Europe you ll go through Levels from 0 to Gold Star),well and then I started training for competitions, but soon gave up because I finished highschool and went to uni.

But it definitely helped me see good dance also in other dance forms, I agree!

oh dont get me wrong. i dont dance professionally. i get training for social dance, training for group shows, and lately for competitions which i participate in but not on a professional level, i'm an amateur but i know some technique that's all!! :P
I just rewatched Magalie's last performance, AGAIN..i swear i was smiling all the time, if she was able to go this far in a month and a half, i'm sure she'll become GREAT!!
Concerning Eleanore i really wanna watch her performance but can't find it on youtube. hope someone would post it soon.
