A new channel and with its induction came a whole lot of drama! The Regency Palace Hotel was graced with the presence of several celebrities who came to join the ceremony of the new music channel ‘Al Thafra’! But there was very little attention paid to the channel, it was the drama that caught everyone’s attention! When Nancy Ajram –who was in hysterics when one of the reporters called her MRS Nancy- finished singing as part of the celebratory events the attendees decided that Fadl Shaker, who was supposed to sing next, wasn’t worth the wait and went home! And this I’m sure made Fadl an unhappy man.

Then reporters were told they weren’t allowed to go into the room where the event was being held although they had been invited to the event, apparently they were only to photograph those entering and leaving the event! Rumour has it that a certain Rotana star was on the look out for the manager of ‘Al Thafra’ hoping to examine the possibility of her ‘switching sides’!

Would the world of Arabic music and cinema be as exciting without all the drama? I think not!
