Congratulations Barack Obama for being elected as the 44th U.S. president of the United States of America.
We are not Americans, but my wife cried this morning ... she cried because history has been made, because finally the dream of having an African American man in the white house has come true. 45 years after the height of the civil rights movement led by Martin Luther King, his dream has become a reality.
In the wake of this historic event, we hope that justice and a new bright fate will finally prevail in the world, finally after 8 dark years caused by the actions and decisions of an arrogant man who only brought destruction and hate throughout the world.
Obama has a long and hard walk ahead of him, we wish him luck and support him in bringing peace and hope to the U.S. and the rest of the world.
Congratulations to the American people :) Congratulations to all those who have been wanting change for so long.

Thank you for your wonderful comments!
Nice post waleg!! I was also very touched by today's historical events. Congrats Obama, America & the whole world!!
Congratulations to Obama!
But why is he considered black when one of his parents is white? This makes him either white or black, so it would be wrong to say that he is black.
What a great day for America & the rest of the world. What a great man. America we are very proud of you.
Congratulations, I am canadian and feel proud to be white today, in years past I can not say I have been proud, but today all that has changed, obviously whites are starting to realize that all persons are created equal regardless of race religion, skin color or beliefs. A man or woman should be judged on charecter and character alone.
Im so glad he won ! I wanted him 2 win so bad,he's a great man . N i hope he'll represent America better dan any other American previous president.hmm yeah he's half white:)bt i think in America if u hav a black dad then ure black, here in south africa wher i live we would call him coloured:)bt dsnt matter as long as he makes all his supporters proud;D!

im from algeria im sooo happy from HUSSEIN BARACK OBAMA
prod have best arabian name . prod for democrate winer.
with all républican présidents we found in their mandate war like vietnam, bomb atomique, irak ,afhganistan; i say to my self we got dream in this 04 years we hope no war in the world .god bless obama and we wait he do what he say no more war in the world.i was hating USA when bush was the président i was fell he is devile and very very bad persons, now i hope visited it and hope we wil found peace with BARAK HUSSEIN OBAMA.
when its about war and Irak for example you seem all to forget that democrats are not better than republicans:Kennedy the tension with Cuba,Clinton with the Iraki blocus etc
and when I see the list of the principal advisers of Obama in foreign policy, even Bush would be jealous of it!Just a few names:
Rahm Emmanuel,a zionist
Sbigniew Brzezinski who wants a war with Russia
and others zionist like Sarah Servall,David Axelrod and Denis Ross
A man like Obama wouldn't have been elected if he hasn't give some guarantees to the powerful jewish lobby that is AIPAC...think about it
He'll may be pull out the troops from Irak but just to send more in Afghanistan an star another war with Pakistan and Iran soon or later
Oh deary me. We're doomed. Guys don't get so enthusiastic please. Skin is skin, it tans & it peels & it scars- it's NOTHING but one layer of many millions of layers within one single human body...CHANGE comes about through chatacter & we have not even begun 2 smell Obamas policies let alone experience them. CALMEZ VOUS!
And I agree with L.C on the point that Obama isn't black, he's mixed but his character/ personality adapts with the people he is surrounded by during his younger years. Not that it's a big deal but we should understand that he was raised by whites, educated by whites, lived with whites & only went 2 Kenya once upon passing through Africa 4 Political reasons...
...and he's has already appointed Israel sympathisers. I do actually hope he proves me wrong but I highly doubt it (Rabinah Yostor). The higher you put your hopes & expectations, the harder it'll be 2 take the blows of his failures later.
Congratulations Barack Obama for being elected as the 44th U.S. president of the United States of America.
We Indians are proud to see you as 44th U.S president....my family members love to you and we all pray to god for you to be the U.S president.....as U.S.A is very extravagent country.... we have full faith on you that you will take U.S.A to the top of the world......
we all prayed for you...we all are praying for you and will be praying for you......
we want you to be U.S President for ever.......
we all Indians love you......
good job america
He is more "Café au lait" than white or black ...
Arab leaders would not be rejoicing if they did not know that "same old, same old" nothing will change. The one constant in America's foreign policies is its support for Israel, like Rice said ‘US has no permanent enemies because we harbour no hatred’... There may be a slight shift in their alliances but America's foreign policies hardly change. Regarding his roots, the guy tries to distance himself without distancing.
About the pull out from Iraq, he will do it but not soon enough because it is not possible, I would say it is rather too late. Iran and Syria are rejoicing because the threats of strikes against MAYBE gone, but it looks like he set his sights on Pakistan.
Hey I suppose anything is better than Bush, especially regarding his mistakes in relations to the economy or the wars. Hopefully Obama will be better for the US and its economy, and that is why he was voted in by the Americans and the majority of the Jewish youth I might add.
i am so proud and over the moon BARAK HUSSEIN OBAMA is the name/man, history is write and i am so proud to witness it. never thought i will live to see ths day, man beside of him been black i jst love obama i dont knw y he is jst 1 of those '1 in a million'. i wish him all the bst as he has a lot of a mess to clean that as@hole bush has made in the world.
It really doesn't matter that Obama is mixed. We African American's accept him as a black man even if he isn't full blooded. It's the fact that a MAN OF COLOR even made it into the office in the first place is something that we people are proud of because we never thought we would ever see a man with an ounce of black in him run this country. The same goes for actress Halle Berry. She was the first black woman to win that oscar regardless of the fact that she's mixed also. It doesn't matter. To us, she is a black woman, just like Obama is a black man. I'm taking a "wait and see" approach myself. I'm also not expecting change to be quick and fast. It's going to take years to undue the damage that the Bush administration has done so I'm not hoping for miracles, just change, even if it's in a small amount.
hi
goo
obama
i'm veryy happy
In America if one of your parents is black then you are also black. Riana Kelley in a newsweek article called a letter to my son on election night, said best when she said "Your dad is while, which means technically you are biracial - but that's black in america"
I think that explains it very well. If you are familiar with African American history then you would know that a drop of "black" is all you need in to identify as african american.
The other issue i want to comment about is the "jewish" votes or whatever.... I don't understand why people have a jewish phobia. it is about time to look beyond religion just like we are trying to look beyond race. (btw, i am arab and muslim and I might just have made a lot of enemies by saying what I just said )
Also, people should know that america and Israel are good allies and this relationship will never change no matte who is president ................
I am very proud that america voted for a change at last
It is not about the Jewish Religion or a 'Jewish phobia' or whatever when commenting about the "Jewish votes", it is about the fact that some people in the Arab world are rejoicing as if Obama is one of them, and his policies regarding the ME will suddenly be different from his predecessors. That is what was meant when mentioning the Jewish votes.
About his color, it is great that the people of the US saw beyond his heritage and voted for the best president who will do the best job for the Americans.
And no Sousou you did not make a lot of enemies by saying that, you have to give credit to people here who do know the difference and can look beyond so-called religion just as well as you can.
I don't care about someone's religion even Jewish but what is more preoccupying is that he choose Rahm Emanuel the son of a zionist terrorist
You're all rejoicing about his election but common' he's not like any other black after all he's got some family ties with Cheney and its not a pure coincidence its not because he's darker than his predecessors that he will be more pacifist I mean have you already forget Condie Rice and Colin Powell who lied to invade Irak??
You'll see that Obama is like Mccain or Bush he represents a change yes but just a change of face not of policy
But a war(because he'll start another war to satisfy the warmongering zionist lobby that is AIPAC)decided by a black will be more"acceptable" by the world opinion because he wont be accused of racism etc
sousou....America is a country which recognizes Arab people as white....Arab became a taboo word when we failed 2 live up 2 the sultan & the bellydancer stereotypes...yet Arab still defines people from many cultures & countries that have their own histories entirely seperate from that of European history. Unfortunately America has chosen new words 2 describe us...terrorists, fanatics, extremists. Americans see people however they want to see them....Never the reality of what they actually are. And it's still wrong to deny Barack of his white roots, we can't just erase facts.
You may not choose to acknowledge our history because maybe ur not Arab yourself (maybe u r being that ur sousou), but so far we've been forced 2 acknowledge everyone elses history. We choose 2 protect our people & our lands and if that means to be aware of Jews who sponsor Israel & equip them with deadly weapons, then so be it. Apart from Palestine, every Israeli neighbour has had land stolen by Israel supported financially by Jews in America or Europe....Sinai-Egypt, Golan Heights-Syria (yet 2 return), part of Southern Lebanon I believe, part of Jordan...this is why it is an Arab problem. And this is why only 'Arabs' will understand their losses & will feel hopeless about Jews in the White House...& before my words r twisted, there is nothing wrong with being Jewish, it's just the fact that we have become aware of the intentions of Jews in Washington, Hollywood, media....and we are better off for being aware of possible threats.
''The Palestinian-Israeli conflict is not just an issue of military occupation and Israel is not a country that was established "normally" and happened to occupy another country in 1967. Palestinians are not struggling for a "state" but for freedom, liberation and equality, just like we were struggling for freedom in South Africa.
In the last few years, and especially during the reign of the Labour Party, Israel showed that it was not even willing to return what it occupied in 1967; that settlements remain, Jerusalem would be under exclusive Israeli sovereignty, and Palestinians would not have an independent state, but would be under Israeli economic domination with Israeli control of borders, land, air, water and sea.
Israel was not thinking of a "state" but of "separation". The valua of separation is measured in terms of the ability of Israel to keep the Jewish state Jewish, and not to have a Palestinian minority that could have the opportunity to become a majority at some time in the future.
...
The Palestinian state cannot be the by-product of the Jewish state, just in order to keep the Jewish purity of Israel. Israel's racial discrimination is daily life of most Palestinians. Since Israel is a Jewish state, Israeli Jews are able to accrue special rights which non-Jews cannot do. Palestinian Arabs have no place in a "Jewish" state.
Apartheid is a crime against humanity. Israel has deprived millions of Palestinians of their liberty and property. It has perpetuated a system of gross racial discrimination and inequality. It has systematically incarcerated and tortured thousands of Palestinians, contrary to the rules of international law. It has, in particular, waged a war against a civilian population, in particular children.''
-Nelson Mandela...A man with a conscience who actually knows what he's talking about.
Congragulation to Obama, we hope you will bring miracles of peace
I am an Arab American. I was so saddened by BARACK OBAMA winning. He was the worst candidate to become president. I voted for HILLARY CLINTON and then voted for John McCain-Sarah Palin.
MCCAIN-PALIN WOULD OF BEEN BETTER. As an American we know nothing aboUT BARACK OBAMA or his background. He is a flaw and a hype...everyone believes what he says,
he is a typical politician...that we know nothing about..
NOBAMA!
