Asmahan has been a very controversial series and now as it comes to an end, tension is building up even further! The man who originally wrote the series and who technically is the father of the idea has washed his hand of the entire production and does not want to be associated with it anymore! The reason for this is apparently the fact that his writing of the series went through several re-writes, once so it could comply with the demands of Syrian authorities, another was because the original was described as ‘too expensive’ in its budgetary demands.

Eventually Mamdouh El Atrash was sent a copy of the first 5 episodes only to realize that they were nothing like what he wrote and so he objected and was ignored. According to Mamdouh, the characters on the show were mutilated probably for commercial reasons!

If the original writer doesn’t want anything to do with it, how good and accurate can the show be!
