Whilst we always say that the role of the musician or actor besides being an artist is to give back to the community, over the years exploiting their image to make obscene amounts of money from commercial has also become part of the job description! The best example of this is the part that Turkish actor Kivanç Tatlitug -Best known as Muhannad- played on a ceramic advert in Egypt, he acted in a couple of basic scene and obviously appeared shirtless and in return received $300,000.

All this money for 30 seconds worth of footage? Seems ridiculous especially that I do not see anyone deciding to change the ceramics in their house because ‘Muhannad’ showed up on an ad! Pepsi and Coca-Cola who are always head to head both used quite popular young actors for their campaigns. Pepsi used Ahmed Helmi who got 2 million E.P and Coca-Cola used Karim who got the exact same payment! Just makes you want to be an actor, does it not!
