In the past few years, we have come to understand that historical series don't get as much viewers as the ordinary dramas and comedies, but it seems this year, it's a different case!
This year, and among all those numerous TV series, a historical one was voted (by an Emirati newspaper) as the best drama series this Ramadan; Abu Jaafar Al Mansour!
The series stars the great Syrian actor Abbas Al Nouri as the famous and strong Abbasid Khalif Abu Jaafar Al Mansour.
Not only do the stars of the series make it a success, but the direction of Tunisian director Shawqi Al Majri and the sense of reality in details like the wars for example.
So, is this success an astonishing one? In our days, yes! historical series usually have more substance that everything else we watch, yet most people chose to watch meaningless shows instead!
