It seems that music channels have decided to pay respect to the month of Ramadan! They created a committee and decided which singers –female obviously- would be effectively banned from the channel for the vicinity of this holy month of Ramadan! These artists include Ruby and Elissa amongst many many others.

Question is how do these women feel about the fact that they have been effectively banned from these TV channels? Instead suitable Islamic songs and music have actually replaced them by a range of artists.

I think this is a positive move in the sense that it is respectful towards those who are fasting. However –and I hate to say it- it is discriminatory towards these women! We may not agree with what they wear and how they do what they do but if we are going to remove them, then let us remove them for good. Not just for a month!
