Turkish series have become a trend in the Arab world over the past few months, why?
Noor or Gumus wasn’t that of a great success when it aired on Turkish channels back in 2005, but as we all know now, it has gained unprecedented success in the Arab World and that was to the surprise of the actors and MBC (who are running the series right now).
What is the secret to Noor’s success? There are many factors and the first one is the main actor, Kivanc Tatlitug! Don’t you think so?
People or more precisely females, got attached to Noor after getting a glimpse of this handsome man!
Ladies from all ages look to ‘Mohannad’ as the guy of their dreams! Even married women have the hots for him! He’s the ultimate heartthrob these days!
The second reason is the very attractive Syrian accent to which the series is dubbed.
When listening to the characters talk, it’s like something out of our everyday life, not another boring soap opera conversation! I have a feeling that if the series was dubbed into standard Arabic, it wouldn’t have been as successful!
Another aspect that makes this series different is that the plot is much more interesting than usual! The plot moves faster and contains lots of twists and turns and lots of suspense which keeps the viewers attached to know what's going to happen next.
I have one last question, don’t you think that the deterioration of Arabic series has played a role in this?
Have people gotten sick of the usual series that they’ve found something different and interesting in the Turkish series?
Im not saying that you are wrong with what you expressed earlier (h.a.r). However, I am a female and to be honest with you I dont like Noor or sanwat diaa. I personally find that whoever watches those shows are the ones that are pretty much bored and want to kill time so they tune in for such shows. And again Im not saying that they are not good shows. However, they are not shows that should influence people and by that I mean changing someones life. For instance, there are a lot of discussions that Im seeing on TV that Noor and sanwat Diaa are affecting couples relationship in the arab world well to be honest I find that rather stupid and non sense, because no show of any kind should affect a couples relationship. I mean I like the story line of both shows, but not to a point that it will have a big sway on the way I deal and act with people in my everyday life. But for those who tune in for those shows good for you because they are good shows, but dont get too attached to them, because in the end like I mentioned earlier, they are just shows and they want to make money.
i agree with u h.a.r
that wat i was thinkin about..its the accent that also helps keep the show gr8t, other than that not many pplz wud watch it..no offence 2 any of the other accents..and plus..the other soaps we watch sims to all be similar such as khaleej, syrian or mexican..and now something new has arrived which kinda changes things around since turkish traditions seems to be similar to the middle east.

"Have people gotten sick of the usual series that they’ve found something different and interesting in the Turkish series?"
^^Yes Ya H.A.R...my answer is yes we have...all the arabic tamseleyat are either death/killing/crying/beating/crime/suspision w kda...but it never arrived in the middle east a romantic story...in nour...you see a new story...something never seen before...enta shayef nas hadyeen f tamselhom w bewarok el hob 3la aslo...the actors in nour are very calm in their acting...as for mohanad...he shows you the love that girls really wished for..."fares ahlamhom"...not because of how he looks BUT BECAUSE OF HOW HE ACTS...which is...he worries about his wife...calls every second to check up on her...knows that he cant live without her...did everything && i mean EVERYTHING to get back to her...alsooooo...nour the show explains how the entire family care for each other...how they wish for happiness in everyone else's live...unlike today...people only care about themselves...w za2ed da kolo...el nas enaharda be2olo 7aga wa7da bs...be2olo toz feekiiii/feeeeeek...people today are no longer looking out for one another...wala hatta care about each others families...the appearing of NOUR showed people something missing from their lives...7aga homma toul 3omrohom bedawaro 3leh w msh la2yenooooo...ymkn nour mmkn tekon tamseleya over habeteen w kesa 3deya...bs lena ahna...da 7aga gdeda
ama b2a el nas elli talabo el tala2...when a lady went to her husband && complained about why he cant treat them like how mohanad treats nour...it proved that the men khalas...mokhohom 3la adohom...they divorced their wives...when they could of actually took into consideration that maybe his wife had a point...y3ny many guys look to haifa && nancy && elissa and always wish their wives were like them...tb leh b2a lama maratak talabet mnak 7aga t3melaha mn el haba obaaa...HAAAAA!!! im not defending these women...ahhh homma bardo ghaltaneen f hagat...bs n3mel ehhhh!!!
as for the dialect...ya H.A.R i dont think that dialect is one of the MAIN reason why...bs i have to admit...i loooooooooove the syrian accent...bgd logha faze3333333...w inshallah ana hat3lemha...but its mainly the story plotline that has all the people going crazy
and anyways...im telling you guysss...watch...in the future....some arabic director is going to make a series like NOUR but guess what...its going to be in arabic...shhhhhhh!!! thats a secret...la2 bgd ana mabahzarshhhhh...kman shahreen wala 7aga...el dawal el 3rabeya hatebda2 t3mel kesa zay nour kda...bs allahua3lam hatkooon 3mla eh...bel tawfiiiiii2 b2aaaa :P :P
i know many are not going to agree with me-bs ana knt bs 3yza a2ol ra2yiiiii fel tamseleya...&& this is only my opinion fa pleaseeee no one get offended or mad...yalla Byeeeeee :) :)
i agree 100% with you h.a.r
the plot moves faster????? what r u watching??? it has a very slow boring plot which is being reapeted over and over again!!! people r just watching it cuz they have nothing else to do with their lives otherwise it's not a fantastic show.....very standard many times very boring to the point that u lose interest in what\s gonna happen
yea i like both shows a lot but sometimes i get annoyed of noor but the only thing i dont like is the accent sry but espesally the way elna talkkksss :S:S:S got it killss me lol but its prob czu i am used to the lebanese accent i dotn no
I dont watch it, the Syrian accent SUCKS!
So many of the noor viewers are women. women look for that very loving man who is not afraid to show or demonstrate weaker side of him,who respects and does not disregard a woman'sopinion and most of all his not a cassanova despite his good looks.I am not an arab but married to one. i think in an arab culture the men they like to show they are "abaday",(no offense),to others, its abbhorred to demonstrate weak emotions and to put your guard down especially to a woman he loves.. There's a lot of reasons why people watch noor.As for me,the main characters noor and mohannad make a good chemistry, with his striking looks and her simple beauty, makes u say that there's this guy who is not after physical features but the inner beauty of a person. And noor is such a kind humble soul , who not an inch of her is "shayefa halek". I am not fond of watching drama series,In all my life this is the only one that i watched and got addicted to.THe story plot is not bad though some scenes can be unrealistic, but people still get drawn to it!why?Coz i agreeMr.Only My opinion, its not something that u see everyday.Especially for us women,we sometimes crave for that so called fantasy that has been taken for granted,a close knitted family, to have a woman's opinion and independency valued, the incredible romantic ways the man does of trying to win his wife back after a fight , and most of all a very ,very loving lasting relationship that stood thru all the ups and downs that they faced. And as for the rest of the actors they play their roles so well and are convincing with their character. And each one of them have their own story to tell. The syrian accent i am not familiar with, though its similar to the everyday conversation you hear so it was not hard for me to understand and in fact it improved my arabic skills. Therefore, for me its still a good show and its worth watching!!
i think the show noot is amazing he is the best one that i have ever seen et en plus il partage deux choses la religion musilmane et la modernité et j'aime bien aussi l'histoire et aussi mouhaned il trop beau et pour l'accent syrien je le trouve bcp plus mieux que l'arabe standard donc rien a dire
i do agree with the guy who said all these things, but you must the good backgroud music, which effect th audience so mush, wish you the best.good job
i do agree with the guy who said all these secrets, but we must add the backgroud music which affected the audience very much.Noor series was one of the best TV series that i`ve ever watched.it taught us a lot of thing.i wish the best for Mohannad & Noor.also i hope they behave the same in their real life & conquare all the problems.
The main reasons for the success of NOUR are:
A)the emotional pattern of the scenes that are similar to our daily life emotions , we feel that we are involved emotionaly in the play and that they constitutes a part of our daily life
B) The space of freedom provided by the scenes that leaves a place to the viewer to enter into the scenes and even be part of them . the director used many audiovisual techniqes to be able to do tirrger that impact
C)Syrian accent
D)Professionalism : Great actors , skilled director , stuff ...
E) Carisma of the main actors ( Nour , Mouhanad , Dana , Anwar , etc ,, )
