The Noor Palace

The palace in which the Turkish series Gumus/ Noor was filmed is known as The 'Mohammad Aboud Afandi' Palace, but has gotten a new name since the broadcasting of Gumus/ Noor in the Arab world; The Noor Palace!
This palace has become a tourist attraction and tourism offices around the Arab world are offering organized trips to this palace.
Although we see this palace as a perfectly furnished and well maintained palace, it turns out that we only see part of its halls and rooms! It has only been recently renovated and there are still some corners and rooms in their old shabby state! Don't forget, the palace was built way back in 1853!

Here's a bit of FYI for you:
- After the palace became famous, its value has come up seriously!
Recently it's been valued at 75 million Euro!
The palace will be sold soon and the deal is being negotiated.

- A rich Yemeni woman bought all the bedding sets of Noor and Mohannad's bedroom for $4600!

- The palace gets about 100 to 150 visitors daily and rumor has it they have to pay an entrance fee of $50 each! (if you happened to visit the palace, tell us if this is true or not)

So, if your planning on taking a trip to Istanbul, try to pass by The 'Mohammad Aboud Afandi' palace, not only because it's the setting of Gumus/ Noor, but because it's part of Istanbul and it's an Architectural beauty over-looking the Bosphorus! It's worth seeing!
