My husband and i were thinking of taking a few days off and jetting over to Istanbul for a bit of site seeing and relaxation. We decided it wasn't a good idea because of the unstable political situation in Turkey and the recent bombings in a busy shopping area in Istanbul!
Have you not heard? Two bombs went off on Monday in a busy shopping street killing 15 and wounding about 150 people! No thanks, i'd rather stay home!
Although no one claimed responsibility for the bombings, it sure sounds like a terrorist attack!
Although i can't wait to check out the palace were the series Noor was shot and take a boat ride on the Bosporus and maybe have dinner at Kiz Kulesi (Maiden's Tower), but i wouldn't want to go when things are tense! Will you be going to Turkey any time soon?

We were planning to go to Istanbul to enjoy the rest of summer vacation and take the opportunity to visit some of the places that Noor Tv series was shot in however my parents changed their minds after the recent political conflict in Turkey and finally they canceled the trip this week after they heard about the bombing :(
guess we will have to wait until next year :(((
I will still go to Turkey, because it is a beatifil and great country with so many ancient sides. Why should I stay at home and cancel my trip to Istanbul? Terror attacks can happen in London, Paris or Tunis also. It makes no sense to me. Even If you been in Istanbul before, it would make no sense to you ether.

I agree with Onur,after I watched Noor series I saw how great Turkey is and decided to visit it with my family,I don't think it would be good idea now to change my mind because of the terorrists,I can't let them control my decicions,cuz that way they win .
I am an Iranian and hold a Turkish citizenship as well. I am in Turkey for more than 20 years. I recommend you come to Istanbul for its beautiful sightseeing but be away from Aksaray region which is a cosmopolitan with relatively low security. Generally bad fame of Turkey comes from that area. Instead I recommend you to reside in Taksim.
The terrorist attacks happens everywhere in the world. I bet you would not be effected:)

i dont know why people make such a big deal about noor...that show is just plain boring..and they are making it soo long that i hate to watch it ..i used to watch it all the time..but honestly now..i think its such a waste of time..and all the girls are watching it for muhannad..i mean come on.. hes very handsome and all..but ppl are gettin tooo obsessed with the show. id rather watch sanawat el daya3...why dont ppl give it the attention it deserves..if u look at it..sanawat has more better issues than noor..
Turkey is beautiful and all..i know i went off subject but..i think u shouldnt go now..u really never know wat happens..its too risky.

i agree with you M12 sanawat a daya3 is way much better than noor i mean muhaned is begging noor to go back to him a couple of tiimes he even lost his dignity because of that unlike lamis and yihya who love each other so much that their love doesnt need beggin. and plus like u said it has many different issues

yaa..sanawat el daya3 has more realistic issues at least...stories that are so important that we can deal with in everyday life. you gave a good example about how muhannad begs noor and its gettin annoying how stubborn she is lol..
let me give u some examples.. the whole Thing with Abdeen kidnapping noor..is a complete joke..,the script is very week.. i mean come on...he kidnapped her and the way abdeen was unstable that he wanted to take her to France,,,wouldnt muhannad find out? and shes married but he still wants to marry her...thats really not common sense.
i know they wanted to show abdeen as a sick man..but what? he became a freak outta the blue to that degree?? and muhannad wont tell the cops bla blahh blahh..and then abdeen shoots him in his leg and all that crap. i just think its soo weak.
another example is the relationship between Nihal and Muhannad and the way he ignores the whole world when she calls him..he needs to respect his wife..i mean it seems like that country is very open minded to so many things..but come on..his wife gets jealous and he still acts liike a weird one..and she gets mad easily like little kids.. that does happen now a days but couldnt they focus on something more important.
or bana and kamil? wow he left her outta no where and went to palestine lol ok? umm this show is all about ppl who are stubborn and that happens im not saying it doesnt but there are so many random things..like the marriage of fikry to that hiba lady.. he loved her in such a short time and married her.
or do u remember alllllll the way in the beginning of show..i dont remember the girls name..it was that one girl that lived in the states and she was Dana's friend.. and she loved muhannad..and told noor that she loves her husband?? omg thats just bull... honestly...who does that? and she tells her thats he wants to marry muhannad coz shes pregnant with a baby and her mom is going to go crazy coz she has to know who is the dad...and muhannad doesnt wana marry her but she still insisted.
kamel left bana after all that strong love..and noor and muhannad are also going through some problems and are going to leave each other..how does that show that true love can fight everything? i dont get it..
the only good thing in the show..is Dana and Anwar..they are the only 2 smart ppl who actually knew how to keep their family from gettin shattered and broken into pieces..and decided to move out and live alone to build their own family.
sanawat el daya3..im not saying that its the perfect show..but look at what good issues they brought up that are at least more realistic:
1. Lamees and Ye7ya and their love story that cannot last.
2.Farida..who forgot who she is and now shes finding out about who she really is.. (this is at least real coz it happens in everyday, true life)
3.Tayim, a mentally un-stable guy who used to get beat up by his father..who is turning out to be evil..loves lamees and acting in the ugliest way ever to get her.. (there are sick ppl like that my dear) but unlike 3abdeen..he didnt kiddnap lamees, instead, he has her pics and cries like a baby for her..
4.Sa7ar coming out of no where..and now shes sick and will die coz of the tumor in her brain..but no matter what..ye7ya is still with her..of course coz he loves lamees and he wants to forget all about her..and coz he feels bad for sa7ar. this is also true..lots of ppl act this way.
5.omar and all his issues..this is real.. hes in debt..bankrupsy and all happens everyday and everywhere. he went to jail..and dealt with lots of drama....this is all real.
6. Hala (lamees' mom) is a rich, high-class woman who goes from living in a huge house in a nice area, to a small village with (in her opinion) low class ppl, who have no class and she has to adjust to it.. (trust me, this happens alot too)
7. Nizar the guy that used to be Farid'as Fiance...wanting her back..this is also something realistic..he wants his love back.
8. Mofida, and susan and the whole issues of her not being with Karam coz he has no degree and suzan is going to be a doctor.
9. Samar and Ali, cant have kids.. this is a very common issue now a days.
10. Jamil is trying to fight for his son Ahmad.. fakheria and saleh dont want to give him to his real father coz hes an alcoholic..and he wants to get his son through the court.
and i can go on and on... but in nooor..all u see is..stubborn ppl...hatered...couples fight...shareefa wants to be in control of the house..and the grandpa fikry is controlling his whole family and many other things that basically dont make the show interesting anymnore and it doesnt give u some real important issues that u can relate too. im sorry in not trying to be harsh...but its not about how amazing muhannad looks..yaa the guy is stunning..but whoever i meet watches noor for him lol...of course not everyone..but i guess later on ppl started to get addicted to the show and want to know whats really going to happen..both shows are gettin very long...but sanawat is a lil bit more interesting than noor coz in noor u dont see a new story or something interesting happening..its like the same drama.

i am going to Turkey in August and i don't think a small bomb will change my mind,i live in lebanon and in tripolli there is a lot of conflict but that doesn't stop me from going to beirut.think about it,,if i am meant to die there then it is meant to happen no matter where i go.even if there was nothing happening there,i might die in a car accident or food poisening,,so i am going and hopefully enjoy my stay.Whatever God has for me is doomed to happen,no matter where i am.
