Although some disapprove, it’s a known fact that music and politics will forever be intertwined and the recent boycotting of Jordan Music Festival is a prime example of this. Lebanese artist Elissa was supposed to be performing in Jordan but then the Artist’s union in Lebanon apologized to the Jordanian union saying that she will be unable to perform. The reasons are based on a rumor that claims that the organizing company has Israeli connections and that they even organized concerts in Israel for their 60th anniversary!
The Egyptian Musicians union took a similar stance and also refused to send Egyptian singers to Jordan. All the involved singers like Elissa have stood with their unions and agreed with the decision. It’s important to consider though that Jordan festival aims at boosting tourism in Jordan and refreshing the economy.

thats disappointing of jordan. you dont try to boost economy and tourism whilst betraying the arab world, that's khiyana no matter how big or small it is. all arab artists should boycott the festival if there really are connections with israel.
Why am I not surprised. The Arab world is ridden with loads of conspiratorial bullshit and retarded thinking. One rumor is enough to convince lesions of Artists / Unions to boycott a main event in the Arab world.
I ask them to provide one shred of proof. One shred of evidence that shows that Jordan signed a deal with the same group that organized Israel's anniversary. If it is such a major business deal, it would have surfaced on most neurtal outlets such as Reuters, BBC and even Al-Jazeera. No such thing was ever reproted.

I carry a duel Palestinain ID / Jordanian citizenship because of a rare case in the arab world following Jordan's detachment from the West bank. I was born in Kuwait but went back to Jordan because we were forced out after the fist gulf war due to the animosity between Arafat and Prince of Kuwait after the retard voiced his support to Saddam.

The article just reports that: the artists CLAIM the festival is organized by publicas. Is there any credible report that Jordan SIGNED a deal with publicas to organize the Festival? Actually, it was very easy to get there before the last intifada. Last time I managed to visit Jerusalem was the summer of 2000, but I visit the West bank regularly.
