No one can deny as humans we make mistakes, we misjudge, we mislead, all ending with consequences one way or another. My biggest example will come through the program which we have come to love... Star Academy. No one can deny the controversy this program has brought. Many call the program dirty and immoral... girls and guys living under the same roof, the kissing, the hugging... and whatever else has happened through these five years...
In the Arabic culture we have our taboos and our traditions. It would be incorrect for me to say that every Arabic country gasps at the sight of two people of the opposite sex hugging or kissing on the cheek, this is culture specific. Although in many Arabic countries especially those under Islamic rule find this repulsive and too western for their taste. I wont waste time going on about what is right and what is wrong in Islam or any other religion, my point that I wanted to get across today in regards to this program is the idea that we see these people through a micro scope... we watch them everyday grow to love them, we laugh when they laugh and cry with them... and we see the good and the bad.
TO EVERYBODY
What they did with Mohammad since the begining of show proves it to be one of the dirtiess shows on all arab t.v.FOR Rola and Wadee ]] the only ones in control of show u have to be a lebanese to have a real chance so u can sing solo in all primes even if u dont have the best voice in addition to presents of paying the fee 4 all years of university and travelling abroad and much much more as u have all seen.with Saad.Next if you where handsome and know many language u will have the best chance even if you did not have a nice voice so will bring you singers from all over the universe and cheat in end.so that u can win.IF you have self esteem and the best voice in the academy but refuse to follow orders because they do not give you the credit u deserveu will sit on the peanch even if you r not nominated and not participate in many primes except in very very small appearances and when it comes to results they will cheat so that u dont become the star and choose a star for the Arab world who doesnot sing arabic like what they did with Mohammad.Shortly Rola and Wadee are from the dirtiess people one have ever seen this is why they should be removed for the show to retain its crediabilaty , this i think is the believe of many many people in the arab world.loulou from Egypt

Star academy is a mirror that shows what is happening in the arab world between the youth and the new generation so if boys and girls are together and they kiss or hug & ... that's because all the young people are doing these things in the arab world. the only deference is that they are doing it in public and the others in private! (like you said you don't do things like that in public TV but nobody knows what you do in private!) private or public the only thing that matters is that IT IS SO NORMAL FOR THE NEW GENERATION.
And what do you say about all of these young people that every year participate in the casting of star academy? they are too many and their families have no problem with it. so what consequences and whose life has been ruined? I bet they can't care less about what you or other conservative people think since they get so popular and their fans always support and love them. and like you said that was their choice so when they have fans who love them like what they are it means people respect their choices.
you know that star academy is the most popular tv show in the Arab world so if people don't like what's happening in it then why they waste their time watching it?
yes they are well aware of what some backward people might say but they are aware of something else that obviously you are not and that is: every thing is changing from old and stereotyped and religious to new and modern and secular with a speed that you can't even imagine. and of course there never have been and never will be going back to backwater.
So the only REALITY is that the old meaning of MORALITY in the arab and muslim world is changing by young people whether you like it or not and whether you believe it or not. so please wake up and don't deny the reality anymore. they don't need to worry about how the world sees them when majority of the world is like them or is becoming like them, it's YOU who must change the way you see the world by coming out of your old fashioned world cause what you see in star academy is getting more common every day, so no matter how much you try to preserve the old fashion values sooner or later they will fade out. because they are bound to fade out and give their place to the new ones. that's how the world has always been and always will be.

the people you saw kissing (on the cheek:O) in the program are at least honest with themselves and show their emotions/feelings.... all of you arabs kiss/hug each other only you do that in private cos ur such hypocrites!!!!!!!!!
god if only you people would stop being so critical of what other people do in their lives and live your own maybe u'd be less frustrated :P
