Who will the guests be? Will the international names show up or will Joseph and Shatha be the replacements?
It's funny how only Nader and Shahinaz are the ones dancing to the tunes of Jeena!
Remember the days when the stage was full of students from all over the Arab world? That was 100 days ago!
As for the 1st guest ... OH! It's Carole Smaha! That's a surprise!
I guess because of the tense situation in Lebanon, none of the scheduled guests was able to make it! (Abdallah Balkheir, Tina Arena and Diana Haddad were supposed to come)
Carole sings Inta Meen. Very appropriate song for tonight.
Turns out Carole wasn't the first guest, but a special guest.
The first guests of the night are The Shhadeh Brothers.
Saad joins them in the famous song El Hilwa Di. Then Mohammad joins them for Tal3a Min Beit Abouha.
Who are those Shhadeh Brothers? They've got their own unique style! If you know anything about them, please share with us.
The first tableau of the night stars Saad. The Mawal suited his voice perfectly!
Gosh! I love these traditional songs! They just make you wanna get up and jump and dance!
It's now time for the nominees to come up on stage and perform.
Mirhan and Abdallah come down the stairs hand in hand.
Abdallah sings first, he sings Allah 3alek Allah by Talal Salamah.
As for Mirhan, she sings Walla ya Saiidi!
The second guest is -i was right!- Joseph Attieh!
He sings Mitl Ennahli with Qweider Man!
The second tableau of the night stars Abdallah. He's up there on a swing hanging from the ceiling! He sings Ya Habibi Ta3ala by Fadel Shaker.
Mirhan and Saad perform together now. Oh! There's a car in the middle of the stage!
They sing a duetto; Kil Mwa3idi. The song was originally done by Georgette Sayegh and Melhem Barakat.
Oh! I am right again! The next guest is Shatha Hassoun!
She sings her song 'Oushaq with Shahinaz.
Another fun tableau, this time starring Nader. He sings Twist Again and Hit The Road Jack.
Shahinaz now sings La Bahlamak by Julia Butros as Michelle plays the tunes on the piano.
The Shhadeh Brothers perform again. They sing Bahhria with a newly shaved Mohammad! What do you think of Moe's new do? It's a surprise! No?
Another cute tableau starring Mirhan. This time it's Shakhabit and Lakhabit! Mirhan sing Nancy Ajram's Shakhbat Shakhabit.
Shatha is back again -this time in a beautiful green dress- and she sings her debut single Rou7. Shahinaz sings with her.
Nader is up next and the stage is all his as he sings Shining Star.
Joseph performs again. With Michelle on the piano he sings his song Habayt Aayounak. Saad joins in with the final performance.
Now, if the students had a choice in choosing who stays they'd give the majority of their votes to Mirhan! Only Saad gave his vote to Abdallah!
As for the official results, the voting went mostly to Abdallah with 75.46% !

There was no doubt that Mirhan was leaving tonight. I can't imagine the academy without her. She was at times fake but who cares she was entertaining!
Star Academy is not about who has the best voice, it's about who can entertain us more for 4 months, because sooner or later we forget about them all. We have only seen Joseph and Shadha who really have became "stars" out of the 4 past seasons.
The prime today was so dull most of the songs have already been sung before. The only highlight was Carole's performance.
Moe's shave was really nice but today I felt that he didn't sing that good. Hope he wins just to irritate Abdullah plus he has a really nice and unique voice.
I just noticed today that the dancers especially the male dancers are really old(to still have a dancing carear).

Overall a good prime; though, it could have been one of the best if Diana H. could have made it to the StarAc (last time she was in the StarAc three years ago). They could have let Shada sing some other songs, not the same ones as in the second prime.
I would like to make a correction to some comments made in the beginning of the season - a big correction ! - all in hope somebody may learn from my mistake. I said, or implied, in those comments, that to keep some ranking order of the candidates the only leverage the LBC has is through the nominations; and that the strength of some students depends on the country they are from and the voters they have. Well, I must admit that I was a fool. Somehow the idea of the fair-play was in the back of my mind all the time, and I have never questioned it because from the first season all my interest has been just listening to those students who sang well. Until this season (that, in my opinion, has not been going very well), when I have finally paid some attention to the fairness of this game and could see that this is not a talent competition in the classical sense, but the LBC game, or Rula Saad's, if you want.
I have talked to a few friends in Lebanon about who provides the telecom services to the LBC and they told me it was never disclosed in the media by the LBC; also, that a lot of people think, or know, it is not the Lebanese telecom - the only state owned telecom company in the country. If that is the case, and the StarAc votes, sms messages, etc., are processed for the LBC by a private telecom, and the public does not know anything about it, why should we, the public, accept that all what is shown to us is genuine? If anyone who has watched few seasons of the StarAc could go over the "surprises" in the eliminations, it is hard not to feel doubt about those results. That is why I think this is the LBC game only, and not the game between the LBC, which controls the nominations, and the voters, who control which nominee is saved. In plain words, this is just the LBC business and very little a competition.
Rula Saad is the unscrupulous boss of the game, the chief link between her company interests and the actual game. If she makes the profits she is OK; if she cannot deliver it they will replace her. So far they have not. Her job is to make balance between the plausible and the real, with the maximum profit as the goal. Therefore, to achieve the goal she will twist the reality as much as she can, as long as it stays plausible.
For instance, the best students will always go to the final; or, no one from Maghreb will ever win as the LBC markets are in the Egypt and Khaleej - the plausible reason being the Maghreb voters are "weaker" in comparison. The selection is sometimes real, sometimes fake - but plausible! As the voting goes, Rula Saad has the full control - of who is "saved by the public." Generally, the more a student contributes to the show the longer he/she lasts. For instance, Amal-B, the most mature student this year, probably did not want to follow the suit, and, she was discharged; last year Sally was good for the show (not "lucky" as I foolishly thought before), as judged by Rula Saad and her advisers, and made it to the semi-final (and she was not just a "good sport," but a person willing to sacrifice her dignity, unlike Bashousha, and do what was asked from her - we could see her "as real," or, more authentic, only after the season in the tour.
A lot of the StarAc public watches the dailies; they are a part of the game too. For instance, the LBC cannot have any financial benefit from Moha winning, even though he may be the best candidate, so they show him in the dailies in the bad light and the plausible explanation for his not winning would be people do not like his "character" (something we do not even know). I assume a lot of viewers are at least partly aware that dailies, the "reality TV" part of the show, are just a sequence of the set-ups with the free improvisations within the frames (and Gabi's class is there to help; if in doubt, please, get on the Amazon any book on the reality of the reality TV). The only "real" part of the StarAc is the stage (in the primes) and what happens on it, the perfomance (because when the parents appear on the stage they all say what they should, and always finish with God save the Rula Saad - as she is responding with her modest ambarasment).
This season is practically over. Whoever is nominated with Nader next week, it will be Nader who is leaving. At the beginning of the season I made, as a fool, some reasoning why Saad and Moha cannot win. Now, from the different point of view, realizing this is just a pretended game, I can see that these two are not viable profit-wise, that the Egypt or Khaleej markets are much more attractive for the LBC, so one of their candidates will win. Your favorite candidate will win only if it matches the LBC business interests. The season will be over but not this game, it will go on and on, until they come up with better ideas for making money. (The rumors about the "last season" are just the LBC fabrication; they won't kill the goose that lays golden eggs.)
Hence, the "competition" is more or less plausible and a TV show more than anything else, and I would like to close this comment with Rika's words, the best comment I have found on the forum :

I'm not a big fan of Abdallah but I admit he has a really good voice, though I prefer Shahinaz, Saad an Mohammed. I do not watch the dailies so I can not judge their personalities. About the racism/ discriminantion issue, it is obvious that Arabs still have problems respecting eachother which always effect them in a negative way. Arabs should observe European politics and learn of it. Europeans speak different languages, have different cultures but are stil able to unite and form a strong union.
To Amal, i'm not trying to offend you but KSA economy is oil-based (about 75%) and you can aks yourself what would/ will happen if their was no oil to sell on the international markets, KSA would certainly be like most arab countries poor or at least be developping. Its good that KSA is helping others, but you should not make a whole deal of it, all rich countries help. Oh and why did use to hate all Tunisians, I know Tunisians and they are really polite, nice and intelligent.

I did not see the prime yet but from reading the comments it seems that moe did really good as usual.
I am watching the 24/7 now and i see moe's shaved head, he looks great too, i guess their is something about moe that no matter what he does, or what he wears, or what he says we "his loyal fans" just love him so much.
I really wish that moe will concetrate this eval and work very hard on it because he has to reach the final without any nominations this way all his fans will use all their energy for voting in the final, even if he does not win he is the star for me and for alot of people, but i still want him to win just to piss of all the haters from inside & outside the academy.
