If there is one woman I can say is the spokeswoman for everything that is belly dancing, it's Dina. That very woman has been claiming that right now, for an actress to succeed in the movie industry, she must dance. She used Sumaya El Khashab as an example after the scene in which she performs –an excellently executed- belly dance as part of her role. Dina made this comment during a recent interview in which she added that she cares very little for rumors except one which claimed that she was ill, as it upset her mum greatly.

And whilst to some Dina’s hypothesis about dancing in movies seems ridiculous, perhaps in a way or another, she is right! I mean there was a lot of controversy about the dance Sumaya performed in 'Heena Maysara', but she also got a lot of credit.

Is Arab cinema stooping to such a level that for a movie to do well, an attractive actress has to put on a belly dancing outfit and ‘shake it’?!
